Createx is all about how you thin it and the drying time. It's one of those paints that you have to build up. I've been trying to master it for about 2 years and still don't have it down. Great update 👍🏿

Thanks Leon. I like how it dried. I think it flattened out pretty good. I will try different things and paints till I a comfortable.

Do not wet sand createx . They recommend dry sanding. After you clear it ypu can wet sand it . Great video

I have no experience with the Createx, but the color is nice. I’m new to the airbrush too, so I’m learning along with you. Keep up the great work Joe 👍

When cleaning your brush, put a little cleaner in the bowl, place a napkin over the tip and slowly pull trigger back, you'll get some bubbles in the bowl. That backwash is pulling paint / residue from the tip. I always use cheap lacquer thinner to clean...acrylic, enamel, whatever I am spraying. I tried using IPA once...it left a film. I will disassemble my brush every few uses and clean good. I have a build coming up that I am going to get some of the Createx Candy2o...I need to learn basecoats etc for that paint.

I like all three blue’s. Check out Bruce’s acrylic formula I shared on my community page for mixing up the Createx. It’s helped me out tremendously for mixing and spraying acrylic paints 🔥💯🙌🏾 Also, Createx does require a lot of psi to get thru the airbrush. I say at least 25 psi. I was up to 30 psi to spray that pearl. I use windshield wiper fluid to clean acrylic paint, the cheap blue kind from Walmart. Works like a charm 🔥🙌🏾💯

Thanks Ed. I did see Bruce's video. I did eventually turn the psi up and that helped.

When I get orange-peel from Createx, it's usually when I didn't let it sit after thinning it, they recommend at least 10 minutes, and it does seem to matter with some colors.
I thin Createx a lot, up to 50%, and usually need at least 20psi. They reccomend waiting for each coat to dry to the touch, but I often spray the next coat while it's still tacky.
I rarely use less than a 0.5 tip with any Createx and generally put most colors down fairly wet. My main irritation with it is tip dry, I have to back flush and clean the tip several times when painting a body, I've recently started adding a drop of glycerin when I thin it, which seems to help.
Some of the colors need more thinning than others. Their pearls, metallics and color shift really benefit from a clear coat. I just did a body (also the 69 Camaro) with their Flair blue/violet (W454), I thinned it ~50% and sprayed at just over 20 PSI through a 0.5 fan cap (Creos PS-290).

I notice tip dry with any water base paint I've used so far. I've gone as far as spraying without the cap so I can easily wipe the needle. The spray out dried really nice and flat. My biggest problem that day was I was working with a dirty airbrush. The nozzle was clogged with dried primer that my lacquer thinner did not clean out initially. After a complete breakdown and cleaning the brush worked better than ever.

I spray Createx at around 35 PSI, once it dries you should go lightly getting back into it. Just some thoughts. I like the color.

Thanks for the tip. So far everyone who uses Createx says the spray at the higher psi. I will definitely do that.

Hey bud on the createx paints you need to watch a couple createx how to videos because it really matters to fallow mixing and times for mixing and between coats another thing use createx additives because water doesn't work good but it is one of my favorite paints to use

  • @arnoldstrawn1863
    @arnoldstrawn1863 2 месяца назад

My suggestion is to watch createx how to mix / thin the pearlized psints with a guy named Chris and really fallow his directions ...I really thought I wasted my money on buying createx paints but if you fallow his how to videos you'll love working with these paints

It's your car. Paint it the color that you want. I painted a lot of car that ain't factory color.

I know, but I wanted to at least be in the ballpark lol. Normally I don't mind unless I'm doing a factory stock build like the Yenkos. But this is getting traded so I wanted to be accurate some.

I personally like the MCW paints. I thin them about 60-40, and it comes out smooth as glass. Most times, it doesn’t even need a clear coat

Will do! There are videos out on it. But I also believe what works in one area might not work in others. Temperature and humidity might make a difference. Then again I have no clue lol.

I know they're both for Mopar. I ordered them before I had a grasp on the website. I'm not that concerned about factory accuracy on this build. There are certain builds that I do pay Close attention to accuracy.
