We got married on Aurora 6 years ago, unfortunately not been back as been busy exploring the world on other ships . Think it's time we went back on her .
I really love the ambience of this ship! 😍 I’m finding the more I cruise, I prefer the older, smaller ships that have so much more personality over the floating hotel & amusement park ships of today. Maybe I’m just getting old 😕
Aurora looks amazing and seeing that the last time we sailed on her was 2017, I think I might need to book another cruise!! Can you stop showing lovely ships, lovely destinations and Lovely Paulie in a shower!!! Because it's costing me a fortune booking all these lovely cruises!! Many thanks for these videos, they help us so very much with ideas and planning. We really do appreciate all the hard work that goes into making such great content.
You say old and rusty, but I used to be in the AGC band based down in Worthy Down and remember playing out the Aurora, and crystal symphony on their maiden cruises. That seems like only yesterday.
Hello Paul & Carole I remember Aurora when she was new she was built just after the 2nd Oriana and use to do the World cruise leaving Southampton in January so she would be here in Sydney in February we werw docked behind her in Wellington NZ a couple of times a classic ship unlike todays block of flats.
Absolutely loved this Aurora video as it was the first P & O ship I sailed on (had done 4 x Thomson (Marella) cruises before). Brought back lovely memories. Lovely seeing so many of my favourite vloggers onboard with you and so looking forward to seeing further Aurora videos from you 😊
Really enjoyed that so looking forward to the next part. I have been on once for lunch many years ago and as its a colleagues favourite it nice to see more 😊
I absolutely love Aurora, have done two cruises on her, one to the Canaries and one to the Baltic (when you could still visit St Petersburg). She is just a superbly designed and laid out ship, everything works so well - and there’s a lovely atmosphere. Cruising on her now is really quite expensive compared to the other P&O ships - even compared to Cunard on like for like itineraries. But I’d go on her again at the drop of a hat for the right cruise at the right time.
Love your channel. Would really like to see some of the non mainstream companies out there. Prices are rocketing and would like to know about companies like Celestial for example. Any plans??
One of our favourite cruises was on CMV Columbus in an interior cabin (huge!), the food & staff were wonderful & we loved our cabin! ( I cried when it was scrapped!) We have even been lucky enough to do a 'rock star suite' on Virgin which was amazing but at about five times the price! You can't judge a book by the cover as the saying goes! Will have to give Aurora a try after seeing your vlog, thanks for showing how it's not all about glitz & glamour!
If you liked the CMV Columbus try Ambassador’s Ambience. Ironically this ship was sold to CMV but never sailed under their flag because of the Pandemic and CMV’s subsequent demise. Just a shade smaller (70,000 tonnes v 76,000 tonnes but only 1400 passengers v 1800). A little older than Aurora but similar elegance.
Dan booked us on Aurora in March 2026 for a trip up to Norway to look for northern lights! Can’t wait to see what the refurb does for this little beauty!
Great video. Haven't sailed on Aurora, but now I want to, she's LOVELY! That promenade deck is absolutely amazing, as is the whole stern area. Its more Cunard than Cunard, and sounds like the food & service is better too.
Lovely ship, I wonder if P&O or any other mainstream cruiseline will ever produce a new 2000ish pax ship ? I've heard RCCL have mentioned a new class smaller than the Icon/Oasis classes, but that may still be a big ship compared to Aurora. Economy of scale is probably the problem ?
Our first cruise was on the last voyage of a Marella ship about 6/7 years ago, we loved it, it was like being in an 80's wine bar. Got to know the staff and the whole thing real & personable. Our 2nd Cruise was in Feb on the Iona, we loathed every minute, totally impersonal, nothing real, only knew 1 staff member who nearly fell over when we tipped him. They clam up if you ask any questions which speaks volumes. Never again, like being trapped in a care home furnished by Wetherspoons.
Looks like you have started out having a HORRIBLE time! 😆😆 Paul eating cake was like watching a kid at a birthday party! Carole singing too!!!!👍👍 The Bloody Mary do it yourself is quite odd 🤷♂
I like the older ships. Our cruises are few and far between so I'm just so happy to be on a cruise that a shower curtain doesn't bother me one bit. Anderson's looks lovely. I don't drink but I'd like to sit in there. Maybe they'd bring me a cup of tea!
If that's all you found to complain about then a minor problem. Keeping a white ship spotless during it service is a big task, the yellowing is only discolouring and not a problem.
Hi to you both. Did you say you where going to review Fred Olsen. I would be very interested as they appear to be my kind of company. Don't like the big ships. Love your vlogs. Thankyou
Prefer their smaller ships, this takes you back to good old classic cruising, better vibe than the mammoth floating amusement parks being built now. Will be interesting what will changes are made or upgraded in 2025 scheduled refurb in May. Azura scheduled for 2025 March 8th to 27th. We will be back on not long after she goes back into service, off to Malta and Croatia itinary. On Aurora years ago for a family reunion mini cruise out of Southampton too, kept getting lost trying to get to the crows nest every night even worse trying to find the cabin after a few drinks.
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel will report back once we had been back on Azura in April 2025. Going Voyager in 7 weeks time, t towels and fridge magnet run. 🤣🤣
Really Really off topic. Did you hear about the terrible fire in Jasper. I know you have visited us a Banff. People have lost homes and businesses But we will rebuild

Aurora looks like my sort of ship - nicer than the mega ships. Cruising like it used to be. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more.
It is an older traditional ship, has some fabulous spaces, our sort of ship too!
We got married on Aurora 6 years ago, unfortunately not been back as been busy exploring the world on other ships . Think it's time we went back on her .
@maureendawson7866 oh wonderful! That's the trouble so many lovely ships to choose from!
Aurora is my favourite P&O ship. Many happy cruising days spent on her over the years
Can see why!
I really love the ambience of this ship! 😍 I’m finding the more I cruise, I prefer the older, smaller ships that have so much more personality over the floating hotel & amusement park ships of today. Maybe I’m just getting old 😕
Lol we feel the same! 🤣
Aurora looks a lovely ship, watching this has us looking at cruises we could do on there.
She is a fab ship! Having refurb next April/May time so will be interesting to see what they do!

I like the Aurora, looks so nicely decorated and does remind me of Cunard a bit.
She is lovely!

Now Carole just because monkeys are crazy doesn’t mean Cruise Monkeys are crazy 😂
Lol there is a theme! 🤣
Hi both,
Thanks for tour on Aurora ,very nice , just back from Queen Anne ,lovely ship and staff, shame about the weather in Scandinavia,.
That weather can be a pain!
Really enjoyed that so looking forward to the next part. I have been on once for lunch many years ago and as its a colleagues favourite it nice to see more 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! it is a lot of people's favourite P&O ship and we can now understand why!

Just done Royal Clipper which was excellent, no plans for Celestyal yet but it is on the list!

It would be great if they did but not sure how economically viable it would be. We can keep everything crossed! 🤞🤞
@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel can but hope ! 🤞
Great first video of the series . Thanks for taking us along x
Thanks for watching!
I smiled all through that! We went on Aurora for the first time in April. We stayed in a sea view cabin on E deck, but we had a shower over a bath !
Oh we didn't have tub lol! Glad it made you smile!
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel we didn’t use the bath though! 😁 only on for 4 nights. First time we’ve had a bath in a ship!
It is unusual!
Youve been transported back at least 40 years. Priority 1 is destinations, number 2 is Cabin size and amenities, 3 is buffet, 4 is entertainment
And loved it lol! Priorities are different for everyone but like your chart!
❤❤❤ Aurora, back on her next year for a British Isles cruise 🎉xx
Oh fabulous! We hope to get back on one day!

We loved the lift, Muzak.
Thanks!
On deluxe balconies you get a bath and shower with glass and curtain
Oh nice!

Exactly! It was a great 3 days!
You earned your beverage with all the stairs
We did! 😀
Nice video. You guys seem so genuine.
Thanks! Great to hear you enjoyed it!
Definitely going to give Aurora a serious look for 2025 . Have some FFC to use up .
Do! Think you would really like her!
We love Auroa, off on her the end of October 24 nights Carribean out and back to Southampton.
Oh 24 nights! That will be fabulous!
Love this ship. First cruise ever in 2003 on Aurora. Can’t wait till next year going to Norway.
Oh wow 2003! It is a great ship!
We love Aurora ❤❤
A great ship!
What a great little ship!
Yes we were very impressed!
Keep singing Carole you’re way better than me👍👍
LOL! 🙈
I love Thatchers Gold😀 great video👏👏👏
Thanks! Love a Thatchers!
We're going on her next month to canada. We was last on her in 2008 with our son.
Oh lovely, will be interesting to see what you think after all those years!
Southampton looks lovely…
It's a great city!
Looks like you had a nice sized vlog mob😂
Lol vlog mob....we did!
Right then❤
😍
Best ship hope P &O never lose small ship cruising. Can't stand these big ugly new ships.
It will be interesting to see! Hope they keep it too!

We did hear! So sorry to hear you have been affected!
Do you edit videos yourself or have you hired someone? I’m an editor and would love to discuss, if you’re interested
We edit all.oir videos and happy with that. 😊
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel I appreciate your quick response
Lots of stairs!
😍
I’ll stick with Saga.
LOL we have some great experiences on Saga too!
Me too, Saga are excellent
isnt the muster lady shirt a bit short? too relaxed
And how is someone else's clothing choice affecting you? She is a fully grown adult, your approval is neither asked for nor needed.
Nah, sorry cant't watch if cruise monkeys are on it. Hope you had a good time
We had a great time thanks!
Some parts of this ship look OK, but sorry to be negative lots look dated, especially your cabin.. As always though enjoyed your review
No problem it is an older ship, and the dated bathroom wouldn't be our choice however we did love how traditional it felt!
