    Thank you for putting the work in making and editing this video!!!! It's been extremely helpful for me making a bunch of financial moves in building a multiple oscillating monster! Showing the features of Octave, decay and vca on this thing, ultimately made buying "brains" a no-brainer for me. I'm Subbed and definitely liked this video a lot. I've probably watched it 20 times or more.....sincerely,THANK YOU

      This is a good decision. You can never have enough plaits

  • @conceptdevices

    This has been very helpful. Thank you. Got mine yesterday, I'm already hoping for a firmware update to enable the models to be able to swap between two predetermined choices alternately using the model input and a slow LFO

    • @conceptdevices
      @conceptdevices Год назад

      I can see you are doing similar towards the end using a sequence? Nice was wondering if a two note sequence running very slow would do what im after

    • @penishead_official
      @penishead_official  Год назад +1

      I do not understand! You can swap with an LFO the models out of the box. You do not need to wait for an update

    • @penishead_official
      @penishead_official  Год назад +1

      You can put whatever you want in the CV input of the models. Just try different CV sources. This makes fun.

    • @conceptdevices
      @conceptdevices Год назад

      @@penishead_official will the LFO make them swap backwards and forwards though? I’ve yet to try it as only watched your vid this morning and you using a sequence to swap the models gave me the idea, I don’t want them moving along through more than two and just flipping between the two.

    • @penishead_official
      @penishead_official  Год назад +1

      @@conceptdevices that depends on what for CV you have. In your case a square LFO with an attenuator should give you the switching between 2 models.

    Nice video. I do like mine. But I wonder why Behringer didn’t include the Inharmonic string modeling mode from Plaits in the Brains module. It is a cool mode because it offers 3 voices of polyphony in contrast to all the others which are monophonic. Hopefully they will add it in a future update.

    • @penishead_official
      @penishead_official  2 года назад +1

      The Main presets are still the same but have different names. Inharmonic stringmodeling in plaits and in brains its called Modal strings. Are am I fail?

    • @ruscor
      @ruscor 2 года назад +1

      @@penishead_official Well yes, the Modal Resonator from Plaits is included in Brains as Modal Strings. But the Inharmonic string modeling mode from Plaits which is able to play up to 3 overlapping notes is not included. Behringer did include a new Karplus strong mode but it's not polyphonic.

    • @penishead_official
      @penishead_official  2 года назад +3

      @@ruscor this is really interesting for me. How can I reicht this in the original plaits? To see the difference. Nobody detect this what you said. So this is really important.

    • @ruscor
      @ruscor 2 года назад +1

      @@penishead_official Yes, I am also surprised that nobody seems to have noticed this omission. But I think it is worth pointing out that you actually don't get all the modes from Plaits in Brains - which is what I thought when I bought it. If you set the original Plaits to Inharmonic string modeling mode you can hear up to 3 overlapping notes if you have a long decay and play 3 different notes in succession. Very nice for plucked guitar/string sounds that overlap and chords (triads). This mode actually is ported from the Rings module. From the Plaits manual about the Inharmonic string modeling mode: "Note that Plaits uses a less powerful processor than Rings, and is thus limited to 3 voices of polyphony in inharmonic string modeling mode, and 1 voice of polyphony with 24 partials in modal resonator mode."
      I have asked Behringer about it and on various forums but no answer yet as to what the reason is this mode was not ported to Brains. But since the Brains can receive firmware updates via the USB port I hope they will include it in a future update.

    Thanks for demo, I cancelled my order (I placed start of june). This module has no interest. They spoke about modification of the algorithms, but there is nothing really new nor interesting. Not totally Behringer fault, Gillet did a mistake creating the Plaits and suppressing the far superior Braids. I'll keep my clones from Modex Modulex, they are not easy to use (too small) but this is the same sound. Thanks again :-)

      Around 55:05 . That's where I really hear it. Possibly it's something to do with the potentiometer, the pitch is really wavering in the Brains and not at all in Plaits.
