192,000 Mile Toyota Camry Makeover!

  • This old Toyota Camry was picked up by its new owner in less than desirable condition, but for a 192k miles, it's not too bad. After a thorough wash and decon, the exterior received a two-step correction to clean up most of the swirls and haziness. The front bumper and hood were covered in rock chips and bug splatter that had etched into the paint, so I filled in what I could with touch-up paint and blended it in. The headlights were sanded with 600 grit, then 1000, followed by 2000 and 3000, and then compounded and polished out for a crystal clear view. After everything was said and done, the entire exterior was sealed up with Ceramic Pro Sport.
    The seats were removed from the interior so that the carpet could be shampooed and extracted, but some stains still persist, especially the rear passenger side. I'm not sure what was spilled, but it left a permanent stain behind. The seats were the worst of the interior, having a nasty discoloration from dirt and body oils deposited over time, but were easily cut through with all purpose cleaner and steam. Once the interior was finished up, all panels and seats were dressed with CarPro Perl: a general purpose, water-based dressing, to add some moisture back into the leather and plastics while also adding a natural sheen to their surface.

    These are my favorite types of videos. Take a reliable car that has been heavily used and totally restore it. Keep it up!

    I have a silver 2009 Camry XLE that's VERY similar. You can't reverse the wear on the driver's seat but otherwise this car looks NEW!!!!! OUTSTANDING!!!!!

    Love the video I myself have a 2020 Toyota Camry xse and I love it however I feel like Toyota had certain things on older models that were better quality like even the carpets in this video are way better quality than mines . I don’t even think I have real carpet it’s like a trunk floor liner or like when you buy them big speakers back in the day for your trunk and they are wrapped with that fuzzy carpet looking stuff that’s what my floor reminds me of like so cheap compared to this guys .

    Bro my dad has a 2013 camry se with 190k miles, and im wanting to learn how to buff, a car, i have all the things i need, i got the ultra compound, the polish, and the liquid wax, is that all i need? Also i already restored the headlights before. Thank you! Love your vids, New sub!

    • @HamptonsTouch
      @HamptonsTouch  2 месяца назад

      You can get away with just a polish on light colored Toyotas because the paint is so soft, but if you want to get most of the defects out, you’ll need to compound the paint before polishing. And if you’re doing their white acrylic lacquer single stage paint, you’ll definitely need to compound first, but that’s not a paint type I’d recommend learning to paint correct on.

    what did you polish the glass with? regular polish wax works?

    • @HamptonsTouch
      @HamptonsTouch  Год назад

      I used HD Speed by 3D on the glass. It has some wax in it you can leave behind for protection, or strip it and coat the glass. I like using it because it won’t leave white residue marks on the rubber trim.
