What power steering fluid do you use in this. I've done spark plugs coolant oil filters etc want to change power steering fluid but Citroën and Peugeot don't know some recommend fluide da others say dexron 2 or dexron 3 becoming a pain in but to the point I've ordered a Hayes manual but want to do it ASAP as topped it off with carlube power steering fluid

Hi I have Citroen C4 1.4 car. You know same with 307 almost. I wanna change its Manuel gearbox oil. But I am not sure, I don't know its oil in and out where?
My car wont moving after shifting into d and r , it will be just the same as it on parking or neutral , is it the solenoid valve broken or my atf is at the wrong level ? Or could it be that my gearbox need to be change ?
Changed c4 automatic with 4 litter white oil is that right?

Hi mate, I have a question. I have a Peugeot 206 which has a tiptronic transmission. Since today the engine stops all of a sudden when it's on and the gear changing feels forced.and uneasy. Do you think this is something to do with the gearbox? I also noticed there is oil leaking from the gearbox under the car. Appreciate your response. Thank you

I have not done that on 2.0 engine. Check the part of the video 5:30. This is all I know about 2.0 engine.

No. In engine oil screw is smaller than in gearbox. It is for 1.6hdi from peugeot partner 2006

Hi Adrian,
There is one screw on the side of the gear box that you can remove. If the oil slowly drips from that opening, the level is correct. I will do such video. Hopefully soon.

I kind of need this asap, cause just recently I changed oil in my 307 and I put 1.75 l of oil (according to manual it's 2l). But because you are never able to drain entire old oil, always something stays in gearbox, therefore decided to put only 1.75, I didn't want to overfill and have a problem with leaking oil from everywhere. Now I think I should have put a little bit more, maybe 1.85l or 1.9l. So I want to check this control screw. As far as I know, when I unscrew it and if even a little bit of oil come out of it, means level is just fine, right or wrong ? P.S. Your movie helped me a lot with changing oil, would never find that hole where you put oil :) Thanks

Hi! I was chenking your video and I have a problem with my P307 1.6 16v and hope you could help. I have a problem with my manual transmition when I want to shift from 4th to 3rd and from 3rd to 2nd it dosn't go smoothly in, it gives some resistance. When I keep it in some revs, about 2500rpm, it goes in smoothly but when revs fall down it's a problem. What could be the problem, do you have experiance with this type of problems? Is ti the gearbox itself or maybe the link between gear liver and gearbox?

It sounds like you have a problem with 1/2 and 3/4 gear rod between the lever and the gearbox. Perhaps the mounting point near the lever has loosen up? These rods are transferring the movers of your hand to the gearbox. There is usually one for 1st and 2nd gear, one for 3rd and 4th and one for reverse and 5th. This would indicate micro miss-alignments on this rods positions. It might also be synchronizes. I would guess these two items but cannot be sure without some disassembly. I hope it helped a bit. And how is your clutch by the way?

The clutch is strange, it works fine but when I just place my foot on the cluth pedal I can feel it working, I'm not sure that is normal. There are no strnage sounds though, it doesn't ratle or something like that. I will check this little rods first, and go from there. Thank's for the reply!

Are you sure oil is not able to dissolve teflon tape?

The Teflon tape I used is resistant to most of the chemicals including car oil, so I do not see the problem there. Also working temperature is far greater then the gear box oil temperature. Another thing is that in some rare cases Teflon tape can tear on the thread and if so some small particles can get into the engine. So of course you always use it at your own risk. I have bought high quality tape and do not expect problems with it. I will let you know in a while. So far I have driven over 2000 km and cannot see any problem/leak.

Can we dismantle the same place to reach the 307 automatic transmission plug? Otherwise you need to remove the battery.
The oil you showed is a GL4+ oil (not GL5), also many websites recommend GL4+ PSA B71 2330 (for Citroen at least, idk about Peugeot) and discourage from GL5 (which has sulphuric acid which can damage manual gearbox-synchronizer rings, it is corrosive to yellow metals). You didn't compare old oil (how many km?) with new oil.

What do you mean? You can check the oil level if you remove a level cap/bolt on the side of the gear box. Was that what you wanted to ask for?

Zauwazylem ze w zime pierwszy bieg ciezko wchodzi z redukcji z 3 i 2 . Teraz jest temperatura 25 stopni celcjusza i skrzynia chodzi dobrze. Jedynka wchodzi latwo. Wymiana oleju pomoze? Przebieg 160tys.

U mnie jest tak, ze przy nie dostosowanych obrotach (za wysokie) jest pewien opor w redukcji z 3 na 2 i z 3 na 1. Upewnij sie najpierw czy bieg ciezko wchodzi przy kazdych obrotach (niskich i wysokich) czy tylko przy wysokich, bo moze to normalne. Nie wydaje mi sie zeby temperatura miala tyle do powiedzenia przy ciezko wchodzacych biegach. No chyba ze poprzedni wlasciciel zalal cos dziwnego do skrzyni...

Ja potrafie zmieniac biegi bez sprzegla w gore i w dol bez sprzegla bez zgrzytu ale... Kiedy jade 15 km na godzine jedynka powinna wejsc bez oporow i wchodzi ale jak jest cieplo powyzej 20 stopni. W zime przy minus 10 trzeba pchac na chama. Ze olej w skrzyni zmienia plynnosc od temp. to wiadomo ale naprawde super skrzynia sie poprrawia jak jest cieplo. Wtedy moge paluszkiem zmieniac biegi. Moze cos by pomogl olej?? Irytuje mnie tak topornie dzialajaca skrzynia.
Poszukalem troche w necie bo nie chce mi sie wierzyc ze to olej. Wiekszosc zaleca zmiane oleju, inni pisza o synchronizatorach, ktore przy koncu swojego zywota ciezko chodza bo gesty olej slabiej je smruje. Jeszcze inni mowia o samym sprzegle - ze przymarza i dlatego biegi wchodza ciezko zanim sie silnik nagrzeje. Trudno tu na cos postawic.
Is It Fixed Yet ? Zaczne od zmiany oleju. Zawsze mozna auto sprzedac. Dolozyc 50k do nowego i powinno byc dobrze. Choc tez nie zawsze bo w nowych autach skrzynie potrafia byc nieziemsko toporne. Jazda z kiepsko wchodzaca jedynka w miescie irytuje. Odezwe sie jak zmienie olej. Regards.
Hi I have a Peugeot 307 SE 2.0 Hatchback, had a problem with my revs for past couple of weeks on and off. Last 2 days has been constant problem. Basically whats happening is 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th is experiencing problems, when I go to upshift from 2nd to 3rd the car doesnt hold in gear, my revs are going up to around 3000. Doesnt feel any transaction from the car. Just took the car for a spin and I managed to change from 2nd to 3rd to 4th and didn't feel any difference. Am I right in saying the clutch is slipping and would a gearbox oil change solve the issue. (Btw it's a semi auto) thanks
MrTroller You need clutch replacement before it goes even worse.
@@vigidozx Thanks got Mechanic to look at it today. Clutch is fine as well as gearbox. Found out that my transmission had 3litres of water in it. Dodgy purchase...
MrTroller The symptoms you described sounds like my issues then my clutch went. Seems like I need to change transmission fluids after all since last year I changed the clutch and I still have those symptoms. (May I add its a 1 owner car)
@@vigidozx Yeah definitely get the transmission oil changed. All these symptoms I had are now gone and car runs smoothly with fresh new 6litre of oil. Saved some money instead of new clutch

Oil and petrol will dissolve that Teflon tape mate seen it lots of times. Put some in some oil and leave it a few days put in petrol and be gone in couple of hours
Agree there's way more suitable stuff for this job. Anything specifically stated as transmission oil compatible, Loctite 5699 or Dirko HT for example

The tape should not go on the thread and certainly not right to the end thread as it can break off and circulate in the gear box , if it needs a seal wrap the tape about 6 times around the top of the plug only , this will act as an O ring.

Completely different from my 307 2001 1.6V petrol Rapier. Got no nut on top. Just some plastic cap. Bottom nut is different too. Round nut with 8mm square in it. So need 8mm square key to undo it. Oil is leaking sideways after you take the nut off, so be careful, have a tray.

3:01 - most stupid way to collect the oil
Throttle body, not throttle :)
You didn't change 100% of oil. Gearbox have 6l of oil, you drain 3l, you shouldn't mix old and new oil. You should flush the gearbox at least 3 times to make sure you got 100% new oil and extend gearbox live. If you doing something, do as it should be done not half
You are talking about total capacity of the automatic transmission (6 litres). I have 1.6 l engine with manual transmission.
