The stories in Three Card Monte come from Darwin Ortiz's book Gambling Scams and George Devol's autobiography Forty Years a Gambler on the Mississippi. The sequencing of the Three Card Monte routine is based on the Three Card Monte in Dai Vernon's Further Inner Secrets of Magic, Richard Turner's performances, Darwin's Three Card Monte in Darwin Ortiz at the Card Table (with a contribution by Bob Kohler), and Three Card Monte by S.W. Erdnase.

Our boy Roy, back at it again! Great stuff, I hope to see more from you in the future!
Thoroughly enjoyed it! Your presentation skills are something else.
Best 3 card monte ever, yes even better that RT. I like his story. He’s clearly lived a past life in the 1840s LOL. Check out his false deal too coz he’s the real deal, I mean he’s the real false deal, no the false deal is real ...aight shuddup 😂😂
The last 3 card monte trick he did was smart...i almost missed it...but when he corrected her how to put her hands..he switched hands with the card piece he had. Also you can see just after he puts his hand in his pocket abit after. Man this guys is so smooth and natural with. I wouldnt catch it if this wasnt a video. Even on video a good sleight of hand is hard to keep up with.
that was the only one I caught....im a sucker apparently. just before that, when he flips the queen with the paperclip in his hand with the other 2 cards, you can see him kinda of doing something with his fingers, i just cant tell what it is.
Best 3 card Monte ever seen
It was a pleasure to watch
This deserves a million views
Yay! I figured the last trick out! Always so much fun to figure it out, makes me appreciate the trick and the performance even more.
Are you left or right handed?
I am just beginning to learn cardistry and this performance is something to work toward. I love how clean it is. I thought I saw one move you made and I'm not even sure of that. Well Done!
nice three card monty presentation! you have a vibe on anti-magician style swagger i quite enjoy. magicians often appear to feel insecure/arrogant/despicable as they perform, especially when viewed through a screen where one is unsure if they are being treated to a camera trick/edit/planted actor. you come across much more pleasant, and your banter is less "magicianish" and more "performerish". great performance!
love and peace my friend
thanks for the kind words! that is really my goal in performance, so I’m glad it gets across :)
@@DanielRoyMagic - thank you, i finally got around to subscribing, i'm looking forward to checking out some more of your bits;
question? whats the most fun dog breed to monty with? i think a "biscuit booth" where dogs get montied until they unleash a jackpot cup and go dog-crazy! heh heh heh
I really enjoy the videos, especially the 10-level videos. They are amazing. Hey I saw Dan put his left hand in his pocket at 7:05, probably putting away the corner Q that he held with his 3 fingers earlier
You mean he isn't a warlock? I'm glad to read that it was a trick and that he didn't summon the occult. Thank you.
I see your neurobiology experience helped with that last one! 🥳 Really love your work and style!
man this is just mindblowing, this slight of hand is like pure magic.
Its honestly super easy to do. Not very impressive if you actually know how to do it like me
the thing is there are two 3 of spades and he makes it look like there are 2 queens because there never where two queens so technicly the spectator guessed corectly but he made it look like she got it wrong
I think this is a flaw in the routine, and he should remove it. Him making it seem like there are 2 queens at the beginning makes it obvious later when he admits there isn't, that he never showed all three cards at the beginning, which means double lifts. Once you know that double lifts are involved, the rest of the routine fails.
Thank you. I kept wondering how the 3 got there
@@darkwitnesslxx yeah, exactly - in his more recent 10 Levels of TCM, he has changed the routine for the Q33 bit (QAA in that video) to just be part of the 'history lesson', i.e. never playing TCM with the 3 cards, and the whole thing is so smooth thanks to that change
🤷♀️
So a second deal at the start? I like the hint he throws "identical queen of hearts" indeed
A double lift, you can see how he carefully lifted the cards (the most important step of this game as you wanna convince everybody there's 2 queen of hearts), but it's very difficult to do a double lift when you only have 3 cards.
So happy I met him :)
I like your presentation and incorporation of storytelling. Incorporating history reminds me of Ricky Jay.
Yo now that I’ve been studying your work for a while now I see how some of the tricks works such as at 6:52 and I just gotta say “god daym” that shit is smoother that a buttered biscuit
Well done good Sir!
Just finish the book, Forty Years a Gambler on the Mississippi
That's a great three card monte routine!
I actually got the last one but all the others I had no clue if I trusted my eyes
beautiful sleight of hand
I miss the days when I had no clue how this worked.
u still dont
Great presentation. Very refined indeed.
The only bettor who almost beat the Three Card Monte game back on the Riverboats in the South was betting high and lost every hand he played. The Operator thought he made a big score only to find out all the money bet were counterfeit bills ! The operator used the money to keep himself warm , burning all the counterfeit bills !........lmao !
Great job!!!
Fantastic performance
once you know the tricks its really a 50/50 game, I could guess which the cards is because I know which it isnt (the one that it would be according to your eyes) and you just remember where he mixed the money card with a normal card
It's not even 50/50 - I followed the Q each time, first time, because when he appears to throw down the queen, he only ever has 1 other card in that same hand, so you know the other one is the queen
No chance of winning your money back, though
That was great!
I finally figured out the last one
i noticed you put your hand back in your pocket after asking her to show the torn piece. You put the copy torn piece of the money card in your pocket.
7:05
The very 1st round I guessed right. I lost all the other rounds.
Smooth as silk
nice performance
Wow 5:21 to 5:22 is when he switches the king for the black, but i still cant figure out how he did it 😅
You found the 1 human being who never heard of 3 card monte!
Terrific!
Sounds like STANDARD LOCKNUT 😁
Great!
Excellent
Daniel Roy Might be the Next Harry Houdini ?
I saw a video warning people that this trick is used as a scam, so I was curious what's happening.
It was hard to understand what's happening but because you can pause the video(unlike real life), you can see how he is pushing it with the pointing finger and bending with the pinky finger.
amazing
Alien in a sweater 😀😅,👽👽🤖🤖
It was obvious when he threw the top card of the two so I could beat him but other than that great execution
dude how
That isn’t the way it’s played
Wow!!!
and yes i followed the money card. slight of hand, not your best skill me thinks
This is so funny ahahaha
The problem with the 3 card monty is it relies on ONE trick, really: taking two cards at once, showing the bottom one, and placing the top, hidden card, where you think the bottom one was placed. Once you know that, you can win at 3CM if you're attentive enough.
Mmhmm, so obviously you’ve become rich playing this game then.
@@op3l I've never played, but I've watched it enough that I can consistently guess where the card is correctly. Why?
you can't win, cause they set rules to make you lose. "highest bidder only" so if you bid x people that are on the con bid 2x and keep outbidding you until you withdraw and lose the money. its a scam dont play it
They can easily pocket / remove the money card just before you select (so all selections are wrong). This and shell games are a con, not a fair game. If you think you know the trick to "winning" the game you don't understand the game.
Only way to "win" is to come down with your own band of armed thugs and forcibly rob the other band of armed thugs.
John Doe, you are exactly the person they prey on (the one who thinks he has it all figured out). The advice of anyone that knows the game will tell you, "do not play". It is not a game, it is a con. You can not win.
after thorough review and analysis of your performance, I have deemed that you are using cheats, so I am reporting you. enjoy ban.
yup, I found the cheat codes to reality, caught me lol
lame
