Hi Carl, it's shame you don't have millions of views and subs. 1st time here and I subscribed. I've read all of your reply to comments/questions. You're a God sent man. I am an army vet (transportation corps/logistics) and in the process of buy my own truck. I'll be a customer as much as I can.
Liked/Subscribed Carl, the one thing I'm a tad confused about is you mention "the dump valve in the run position", and you say "Bags are not inflated" (plural), but it's only one bag/Haldex valve that is not working correctly, so only one airbag is deflated (like my RV right now). Appreciate this video from 7 years ago and don't expect a response, but maybe clarify for future viewers.
Ty! I'm going to have a look at my truck for this issue. My problem is actually reverse. The airbags are overinflating and not deflating even though I can hear the air releasing
Thank you soooo much for showing this video. I broke down and I notice it was the leveling valve. I had no idea if it had to be all the way up or in the middle
Thank you...very informative Gave me a better knowledge of how that function... I'm currently having issue with my leveling valve, it's inflated but not all the way
Thank you so much! I have a job to start in the morning and of course it screws up at 10pm the night before. Without this video I would still be looking for broken wires. I just took off the linkage and pulled it up and it started to air up so I put it back together and that seemed to fix it!
Hi Carl, will it be the same process/area if my airbags don't let the air out when I want to lower the rear suspension on my tow truck? Thanks for the info
Hey Carl.. I have an FH 12 Volvo having trouble with no air going into the airbags.. got told from a mechanic yesterday that there’s no power coming from the front sensor plugs to activate air down to the airbags. Would you have any ideas on what it might be? I’ve got a sparky coming out to have a look but that’s in about a weeks time.
Ok I feel dumb for asking what I am about to ask because I feel that I should I know this but I am currently under a trailer (empty) will I need to drop the trailer to do this .?
I'm having an issue where my airbags are not deflating and I don't have a susp / dump switch either.. 2015 international prostar.. Is it intentional they made it like that or was that an option the original owner had to add-on?
Nice. I have the haldex # 90054007 How do u adjust it? Mine was leaking air. So I bought a new one And still leaking air? Through the clear hose. On the very top of the 3
My air bags are going up and down on there own and I can't find a link no where and when they go down I do not loose pressure on the gage I have changed the leveling value but still doing the same thing
Is the leveling valve the same valve responsible for dumping the air suspension when I flip the switch in the cab? Or is there a separate valve with an air switch for that?
Hi mate, my truck tilted to right side specially as it's loaded much tilted, the air bag suspension ok, everything in good order, what you think about that,?? Thank you
Alan Powel man without looking it over I'm not sure. But there's a pretty short list of things. Springs, hangers, bushings, fifth wheel anchor bushings/pins, tires etc...
Hey my freightliner Cascadia is bottoming out I got the shocks replaced what could be causing that problem when I hit a dip in the road and how do I fix it
Nice. Mine leaks all the time. Took off the haldex and installed a different one. Same issue. It raises up. But just keeps leaking air all the time. Thanks
Hi. Mine looks different. Truck Freightliner 2000. After unloading , the airbags go over inflated , I have to do it manually drain air. Valve is new. Lol.
Thanks for the vid Carl. On my prostar, the back axle bags are always higher than the middle one. Any idea? Back airbags are full height while middle are about 2 inch lower.
Hello sir… I’ve the same issue with mine. The rear airbags are higher than the middle ones. Can’t figure out why is that? Did you end up finding out by any chance? Many thanks in advance 🙏🏻
The rubber grommets, if you will. Are they suppose to rotate freely on the bolt. .meaning I see the bolts are smooth then a thread starts . Commonsense tells me it should hoe ever I'm not a mechanic and my mechanic has them so tight the rubber bends over instead of it freely pivoting on the bolt. I mean it's a lock nut it's not going any where but he says leave them on there tight. Now my bags are 3" from bottom of inner bad I guess to the rubber of bag
I have a question sir ,I have a 2015 kenworth t680 the bolt that holds the leveling rod that is tied to the bottom part where the shock is keeps breaking on me is it because I need new shocks?
Hey did you fix your problem? I kept putting new ones one and they keep being pulled forward to lay on the air bag... The entire L shaped rod is been snatched forward... Causing the bags not to be level.. Any info would be greatly appreciated
I have a 30ton wrecker on a 01 freightliner classic when i tow something not even that heavy the rear end sags like crazy would this be a fix to my problem a bad valve?
Muhammad Fayyaz so there is typically one on the real axle, and one on the cab. There maybe one on each side of the front axle in trucks with air ride front suspension. There is simply a spool inside that slides fore and aft based on are position. Other use a rotary spool that’s does he same thing.
Can I ask a question I need to see if someone can help me with getting air to my brakes so I can move my motor home I have just purchased I can't start the engine up at this time and I have only till tomorrow evening to move it about a city block but I got to get brakes released and I know I've got to have air pressure to do so is there a place I can hook a air compressor to a sertain place so I can get air to my tanks its a class a diasil motor home I know it' has six air tanks that I have seen on it and the engine is a3208 cat I don't know if that makes a difference or not
So i removed the bolt when i tried turning the nut no air went into the air bag if I turned it down i could here the air leaving. Any idea why air wouldnt go in?
1999 Peterbilt 379. I am Not getting any air pressure to the air bags at all to my Semi, I do not have a trailer hook up. I change my foot valve and my other valve, even the one in the dash. My lines are not cracked either. The new Foot Valve is still leaking. Do you or some might know where its coming from. If you do you can email me and I will respond. Thank you!
Ginger M, you would need to check to see if the line supplying the leveling valve with air, does in deed have air coming out of it. I'm fairly confident it does. But check that just in case. If it does and the rod connecting the valve to the axle is in place, then the valve itself must be bad.
Hi buddy. I drive a Volvo VNL 2016. Anytime that I am loaded I got this air leak from that leveling valve I have it change but problem continue. That is the only problem that I got air leak for a little while then it stop.
Raymond Gonzalez is it an air leak to the open air? You will hear air entering and exiting the leveling valve for a few minutes when you hook to a trailer or unhook, Add or remove a significant amount of weight. If it leaks only when loaded after the truck has been stopped and left running for a while, around 10min, then you may have a leaking air bag actuating the valve, or you may be hearing an air leak in the actual air bag. Go around when you hear it, with a spray bottle of soapy water, and spray the tops of the air bags near the frame and where the bag meets to top plate and where the top plate meets the frame rail. Also when the bags are inflated spray the bottom of the bag near the "skirt" as well as all hose connections to the bags and valve. The bubbles indicate the leak.
My problem is, the truck dumps and inflates continuously only when I’m hooked up to a trailer. It dumps and then inflates after about 20 seconds. Up and down all day. No problem while bobtailing.
I have a rv hauler its a 1996 volvo m11 i have a bad vibration people think my air bags are over extend now here is the funny part some guy efore me moved my air bags way to the left so there 3 inches sideways too much.. both the same way! i moved them back now i have a bad vibration over 50 mph.. i put in a new carrer barring and all new ujoints and we timmed the drive shaft.. the air bads have been moved up and down the right way! problem is the bad vibrtion is still there.. it was not doing this with the air bags way kicked sideways any clue why this is happening? i cannot drive it or pull my rv like this .. every time i take it in they charge me and cannot fix the problem.. im going broke im done dropping money on this truck errr
kool... so no one will tell me my actual ride height. international prostar... asked terminal and several dealers. they all say set at factory leave it alone. i can feel my ujoints binding. ride height 2011 international prostar ??? thnxs in advance.
A.K.A 971155 my air suspensions out on my Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland bro so does that mean that that's where all that noise is coming from that grinding sound like I'm hitting strips that's all right it's off balance huh
Ernie Lepe I would assume your talking about an international? And if so, it means there is an electrical issue between the solenoid and the control module. Usually this is in the manifold assembly, and or the solenoid valve pins. You'll need to disassemble the manifold and check for corrosion, and continuity from the manifold pins to the solenoid sockets. If they check out it's likely one of the two suspension dump solenoids. There are two of them connected together.
hi I have a Volvo 2014 , my ehcv raise button won't work. anyone know what I'm talking about. It applies extra air to the bags when hooking to a trailer that was left to high. how do I fix
Chris Jones oh good grief. There's many possible causes. The most common is a failed or misadjusted clutch switch. But it could be the brake switch, bad idle TPS, or the actual wiring to the over heads. I'm assuming it's a cummins? Insite will tell you specifically which is keeping it off. If its Detroit their software will too. Otherwise your gonna have to check switch adjustment, and then test for voltage to each switch, continuity through each switch, and continuity from the switch to the ECU.
I have a volvo vnl and i all ready replace my valve like 2 times now it happen again my air bags are way to high and my drive shaft is making a noise so again am gona replace for the 3 time smh os this really common issue then smh
Alan Powel I am in Toledo Ohio. My shop is called Toledo Truck Repair and Service. However I am Very busy (read blessed), thus if you or anyone else needs service or help please call ahead. If I cannot get to you soon enough for your schedule Toledo Spring is very close and very good!

AIR LEVEL ROD JUMPED OFF, HAD TO USE HEAVY DUTY ZIP TIES TO KEEP THE ARM IN PLACE.... ;D
GREAT VIDEO, GOD BLESS BROTHER!!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏 great job. It is taking 12 ppl to figure this out at my job. Thank you. Keep it going!
Thanks u really saved me in middle of the road, with out u'r videos i could end up towing $$$.

Sublime Rebel what’s up man. My truck is doing the opposite of what he is sayin likes yours !!! Did you come up with a little quick temp fix !! ??
I'm having the same issue.. I don't have a susp / dump valve.. so not able to deflate the airbags
Did you turn the adjustment to deflate?
Thank you soooo much for showing this video. I broke down and I notice it was the leveling valve. I had no idea if it had to be all the way up or in the middle
Thank you...very informative
Gave me a better knowledge of how that function... I'm currently having issue with my leveling valve, it's inflated but not all the way
Thank you much. I was able to get my rollback going to finish the day out!!

Mitchell Heyink glad I could help
You are the best instructor
Thank you. I am having issues with this. I'll check it out myself now. Thank you very much.

Awesome video this actually helped me fix my truck. Appreciate it and keep up the good work
Patrick Ramshead thats great I’m glad
Two thumbs up thanks a million

Thanks Carl! Good little roadside repair to know.
Definitely gonna subscribe to your channel
Cool to see you in here bro! Lol
I'm laying in.my sleeper trying to figure out whats wrong with my valve, thank you
Helpful, thanks.😊
Thanks. Very clear to the point information ℹ️.
Very informative thanks
I got your video to see where the leveling valve is on an international. Do I want to include one in looking for a replacement piece of equipment.
Happen to me now , I’m gonna try to fixed , thx man
Thank you sir I really appreciate.

thanks carl for the tip
of course, no problem.

Nice.
I have the haldex # 90054007
How do u adjust it?
Mine was leaking air.
So I bought a new one
And still leaking air?
Through the clear hose. On the very top of the 3
Good Tips boss.....BTW I have KwT2000 06 year....whats the right height on it boss.....and where to where I have to measure?
Do you have any videos showing how to adjust the ride height on the international chassis for a motorhome?
Thank you , that’s exactly what I needed to know
Nice explanation. Thanks.
My air bags are going up and down on there own and I can't find a link no where and when they go down I do not loose pressure on the gage I have changed the leveling value but still doing the same thing
Thank you sir you save me a lot of money good tip

Thanx bro,it saved my day today.

Alan Powel man without looking it over I'm not sure. But there's a pretty short list of things. Springs, hangers, bushings, fifth wheel anchor bushings/pins, tires etc...
Alan Powel your truck is doing the opposite like mine is , it’s airing up too much therefore tilting the valve is not shutting off right
thanks man.... you saved my day
N. MAKSIMIYK not a problem.
Thanks
Mine does the same thing mario
That no good than air compresor worcking all the time
Hi. Mine looks different. Truck Freightliner 2000. After unloading , the airbags go over inflated , I have to do it manually drain air. Valve is new. Lol.
Will that cause vibration noise if it brakes off even if you have air in the bags but still feel like you still riding with no air
peppaboy9 yes it will
Hey bud how do I measure my ride height on my 1996 international eagle 9200 ?
Nice
Thanks for the vid Carl. On my prostar, the back axle bags are always higher than the middle one. Any idea? Back airbags are full height while middle are about 2 inch lower.
Just installed a new level and the problem is still there.
Hello sir… I’ve the same issue with mine. The rear airbags are higher than the middle ones. Can’t figure out why is that? Did you end up finding out by any chance? Many thanks in advance 🙏🏻
I got same problem put new leweling valve same think but pay atention every secund volvo is like that
If air is not present at the suspension leveling valve an air pressure protection valve may be stuck . It is located on the secondary air tank .
Dude thanks so much for the info
The rubber grommets, if you will. Are they suppose to rotate freely on the bolt. .meaning I see the bolts are smooth then a thread starts . I have a 30ton wrecker on a 01 freightliner classic when i tow something not even that heavy the rear end sags like crazy would this be a fix to my problem a bad valve?
Matty YFZ that would be the first thing I check
Very good presentation but how is it done on a Volvo and is it similar.
Max1Chase1 this is a Volvo
Thanks!
How many valve used in air suspension system each one how works

If the leveling valve us not properly adjusted truck will ride very rough and handle very poorly, IT MUST BE PROPERLY ADJUSTED TO FACTORY SPECS !
I have air suspension in my car. My wife took it to get it serviced now it won't raise up or down like if they disabled it somehow!?? Please help
My problem is, the truck dumps and inflates continuously only when I’m hooked up to a trailer. It dumps and then inflates after about 20 seconds. Up and down all day. No problem while bobtailing.
I'm having that problem as well
Thank you
it follows the same principle as a toilet tank water valve and arm
Thanks

Good video subscribed
Nasheem whye thanks
Happen to me with the leveling valve linkage in the middle of nowhere so I use some zip ties to keep the level valve up
If they are over inflated?
The same process if it’s the valve arm coming loose. You just need to think of it reversed
kool... so no one will tell me my actual ride height. international prostar... asked terminal and several dealers. they all say set at factory leave it alone. i can feel my ujoints binding. ride height 2011 international prostar ??? thnxs in advance.

Eduardo silva your welcome
I have a volvo vnl and i all ready replace my valve like 2 times now it happen again my air bags are way to high and my drive shaft is making a noise so again am gona replace for the 3 time smh os this really common issue then smh
Do you replace the rod?
where you located? gonna get it checked....!
Alan Powel I am in Toledo Ohio. My shop is called Toledo Truck Repair and Service.

If valve is replaced but now overinflation is happening?
Having same problem.
🤗🤗🤗
This just happened to me lol
If a driver can't troubleshoot this problem......THEY SHOULDN'T BE DRIVING!
I would say that I don’t necessarily agree you on that.
And that’s how I broke the nut off my leveler valve 😐
Mines is over inflating
Mine is to did you ever find out what it was
Why talk so much man do it to it
