Well as a long term fan of Rammstein (since 1997) I know that the vocalist has a stage fright. I always have the feeling this song is about overcoming your fears so good you can. This song comes from the Rosenrot album. The 3rd release in a 3 record deal they had. Having done the 1st 2 the band wanted to be released from making the 3rd but the label insisted. So now look at the lyrics again from the point of view that the band are the man on the bridge and the antagonist is the record label and I believe you will then see what the song is really about

welll, till is the media and the crowd... as i see it...
I don't know, as a crowd, I think they're just ambulance chasers but I think MOST people would not want to see someone fall to their death but mob mentality is nuts so who knows. It just depends. I think where I live, people would be horrified and beg him not to jump. But it really depends on society and culture. I think if you get one person to rile up a crowd, you never know. It's unpredictable when people are in large volatile groups. Obviously, this type of shit has been rampant throughout all of human history but if you have a more compassionate service-oriented society, it's less likely. But hey, a local highschooler was shot and killed by a classmate in school so even here it seems like we're no longer sheltered from other people's societal issues.
