Time Attack MR2 - Chasing a Noble and Porsche and a new PB - UMC EAST

  • Last event of the year. The day was cold, but the sun was on the track making for perfect conditions for records. I'm still way off the pace for TT3 wins and records but beating your best times is the first place to start! Felt good this session and it was really cool being able to hunt down some cool ass cars. That Noble has a turbo K swap, but was on super old toyo RR's and struggled for grip all weekend, I know what that's like.

    Nice work, dude, you were faster than all the tings!
    Weird problem. Any leads yet? Do you lose ALL power or just some?
    I had weird intermittent problems of my own 2GR swap, but it wasn't fixed with a key cycle.
    Mine was a loose ignition plug thanks to the retainer clips being snapped off by the engine recycler. as you do..

      its ALL power, but sometimes I will get a misfire code for one cylinder, but usually its random misfire and the car doesn't go forward anymore like I ran out of gas, but its not that. ive swapped around so many coils, and I have two plug with broken clips. I was thinking about replacing those and just buying 6 new denso coils and see where that gets me. tough to test because sometimes its a non issue.

      @@allthingsfast2375 yeah, if it's all power, I can't imagine it's a cool or something that affects cylinders one by one.
      I would imagine either fuel pressure or timing is the culprit, or something else universal to all cylinders. For spark that's gotta be either power delivery in the loom, or grounding back off the rocker covers.

    Great job! thanks for sharing too, I'll post up the video I have shortly. It's a shame you disappeared so fast, I needed someone to help me with the lines :D Also, it's a Noble M400. M600 never made it stateside :(

      ahh, not super up to date on all the noble stuff, I feel like I actually only knew about the m600 lol.

    Those Nobles are fast and have interesting engines. To bad they K swapped it.

      Nobles come with a Ford V6 Duratec. Not that interesting, also aftermarket support is poor for them. The K24 in the car now makes just around the same as the Ford V6 on a 8spi wastegate spring. On 20psi, it makes 610whp. It's much much better than the Ford powerplant ;)

      @@AngryScottish I guess I was thinking that a turbo Ford V6 is less common and therefore interesting vs. the much more common K series engine swap. I agree that the K swap is a great platform and takes to boost really well.
