      Axe infantry based
      Horse archer based
      Weak horse archer weak Infantry
      Weak cav good infantry
      Celts

    Berserkers are broken. I dominated the map with an army of mostly Hounds. I'd just unleash the crazy bastards and back them up with some swordsman and I'd use Cavalry to clean up
    it's epic as fuck playing the Celts. You go from taking Briton from the Romans, fighting off the Roman-British who rise from the ashes and beating off the Saxons. Once you start expanding it turns into a steamroll.

    Schiltrom is also called the hedgehog formation. It causes all the men to stand with their back toward the center of the formation and their weapons outward. It's meant to eliminate the unit's flank, so it's an ideal formation to get into if you're about to receive a charge. Since there isn't a lot of overlap in the formation, though, it is more vulnerable to missile fire than the standard formation or shield wall.

    There's another reason to go after the saxons. To my knowledge, Vixus Saxones is the only barbarian city that starts with a level 2 port. The Celts can't build those, but if they take a city with one, they can use them to make large boats. Obviously several Roman cities also have level 2-3 ports (at least they do by the time I get to them), but it's nice not to have to choose between keeping a culture penalty in your city or building a better navy. Because both the game counts both the Celts and Saxons as the same culture (barbarian), none of their buildings give you a culture penalty. Not to mention the increase in trade.

    The faction description muddles up Julius Caesar’s invasion attempt of 55 BC, where he took Kent but was forced to retreat through a combination of British resistance and rebellion in Gaul, and Claudius’ invasion in AD 43 where the British were finally defeated. Just so everyone knows

    Need a Romano British overview!

    • @MajkaSrajka
      @MajkaSrajka 3 месяца назад +1

      Romano-British are weird and imba.
      They have crossbowman in the unit rooster but cannot train them. They don't even get the experience on their archers.
      They do not have a regular barbarian-ish cavalery, but have the pretty heavy Sarmatian Cavalery available on the first level of stables - which is quite imba for the retrains. To top it off, because they have no other cavalery above them (WRE higher tier cavalery is actually subpar or not quite big of the upgrade over Sarmatians), they actually do get +1 and +2 starting experience from higher level stables. They also share all buildings including temples with Roman factions, meaning you also have access to the +2 experience temple, meaning you can have them with +4 starting experience, meaning you can boots their already respectable 8 attack 23 defence to 12 attack 27 defence (or 14 attack 29 defence with top level forge).
      Even with their already decent armor, they still have "fast moving", "good stamina" and "good morale" (9). They only thing that is a little problematic is their high costs (just as all Roman units) of 1100 and their upkeep of 383, but with Roman tech campaing map buildings and Londonium being a pretty great moneyprinter city due to its great trade resources mean they are a mid and late game force to be reckoned with.

  • @MatthewChenault
    @MatthewChenault 4 месяца назад +1

    Well, yes, Lugatorix. The Saxons have an obsession with the British isles because that’s a part of their hard-coding in the game.
    That was what happened historically as the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes came over to the British isles around the time of their abandonment by the Romans and swiftly conquered the Romano-British.

  • @kevin06289
    @kevin06289 4 года назад +9

    i think you can play it without unlocking any data file on ipad version, glad if that helps anyone😘

  • @MajkaSrajka
    @MajkaSrajka 3 месяца назад +1

    1) Celts start with 15.000 in cash. Western Roman Empire starts with 1.000 in cash. Go ham on the mercenaries
    2) Romano-Britis spawn in forests west from Londonium whenever both initial Roman cities are in non-roman hands, meaning rushing them may cause them to spawn faster
    3) Londonium is one of the best trade port cities in the game and will give you a lot of cash - if you have someone to trade with. If you capture it from the WRE, you may have to capture a northern France to fully unlock its moneymayking potential. 2-3k trade income alone is possible there - which is a total opposite of the two starting towns that have no trade resources
    4) Gallowglasses are one of the very few barbarian units in BI that have war cry. War cry is +10(!) attack for thirty seconds, making them possibly the best shock troop infantry in the game
    5) Gallowglasses on the campaing map cost only 650, and have an upkeep of only about 160
    6) Celts have a great +2 experience temple, as well as higher tier barracks have a bonus starting experience on Gallowglasses.
    7) Hounds of culann unlike German barbarians in base game are quite cheap and are trained from the first level of the temple (but they still build 2 turns), meaning you can demolish&replace temple in one turn and train or retrain your berserkers almost instantly.
    8) Scotti Chairots are not a archer-chairots like many chairots in the base game but javeling-throwing ones which is kinda cool
    9) Saxons are the only faction in the BI that has "prevers naval invasion" flag checked to true, which make them consistently try to land in britain. From my experience their attack seem to be pretty weak 3-4 units and I've never seen them capture any land in Britain.

    It isn't really easy to take on the Saxons, there is a lot of pirates everywhere. The Saxons will often take Campus Frisii or Campus Chatti 1/2 the time.

    • @Inquisitor_Vex
      @Inquisitor_Vex Год назад

      You just build a navy big enough to deal with 3 pirate ships, take Vicus Saxones which is really defensible and take the little villages once you’ve replenished your army. It’s not really that hard.
      Or you take campus frisi first because you can get there in 1 turn by boat and then roll on the saxon town over land.
