I know How to DAD is fun channel but he is really inspirational. If you think you don't have enough time to do something for your kids or if you think you can't do something, he comes out with videos like this where he slaps something together in 10 minutes. The seesaw wasn't meant to be perfect but the fact that Dad built it, made it fun for the kids. They will probably remember this for the rest of their lives. Just think, we all can do stuff like this with our kids too! Just be there and don't yourself too seriously!
That's really great advice! I'm not a parent, but I can apply that to my sister just as well. She won't be young forever and I need to take advantage of that time with her!

I was expecting a bit of a giggle but then this was just entirely wholesome instead.
Idea: Let the girls paint each piece a different bright color! Then it would REALLY be a piece of abstract art!

The landscape of you home looks so beautifully spacious and cozy. The air looks so crisp and fresh; thinking this as I am in Brooklyn New York and its a completely different scene.

Its so popular because dad built it! And if it didn’t work the kids would be using it to catapult toys around the back yard! They would find a good use regardless. Investing loving attention adds a lot of value. Great job. 🌳

In 1974 my dad made one for us, and it was so popular that the neighbourhood kids would sneak into our yard to play with it.

Bc you can clearly see a plan was used, meaurements were taken, safety requirement were met.
No need to have fun trying to make and design your own. We need a detailed plan with all the measurements. Or sell it as a building kit with all the pieces needed pls.

Yeah, it's good but... If you really want to launch the kids, you should go for a more of a trebuchet kind of thing. You can get some really good distance with one of those things.

Dad hint: get 5 or 6 big cardboard boxes that had fridges or ovens in them, cut a few windows in them, a few suit cases, some blankets, some old clothes and toss the whole lot in the back yard and get the camera ready.

I'm more of "how-to-uncle" than "how-to-dad", but I noticed (as a fellow designer of slip-shod play equipment) That you WAY OVER-ENGINEERED the swivel pin apparatus on your seesaw. That looks like a heavy-duty (and rather posh) tool being repurposed instead of using a proper cheapo piece of galvi pipe.
