- Daily = 13.7 mi
TRT total = 139.7 mi
Total hiked = 144.4 mi
Today we encountered our first bear. It was the highlight of our day. He was about 30’ off trail when we he startled us. Luckily he had no interest in us and after yelling at him he took off.
Overall it was a tough day. It was hot and the views were few and far between and we seemed to be hiking uphill most of the day. We finally made it to Watson Lake campground where we set up our tent for the night. We are both beat and calling it an early night.
The section between Tahoe City and Watson Lake is dry until you reach the lake or hike 0.8mi past it to a stream. Based on this, we had to carry extra water. Terry carried 3 liters and I carried an extra 1.5 liters for Terry which she needed. She drank a total of 4.5 liters. I carried 2.5 liters in my water bladder and another 0.7 liters in a smart water bottle. I drank a total of 2.3 liters. I filled my CNOC bag with 2 liters of lake water in case I need any in the morning for breakfast. Otherwise I will dump and get at the stream 0.8 mi away.

How cool to see that bear and not have any troubles. Pretty lake and camp spot! Love it. Stay safe, have fun!
The best was our highlight for the day. It was a better day than I expected.
Beautiful nature my friend
This trail has a lot of variety. We were extremely lucky to see a bear especially one that wanted nothing to do with us.
So cool! Twin Peaks reminds me of the TV show ... and OMG, sharing your weight?!?! Never would I ever!😂
😂 yep. Almost 150 lbs. You are too funny❣️
