Hey there, Coach! Got a quick question for ya..! How would you recommend someone learn the basics of football? Like maybe watching someone explain it or just watching a random NFL game..

RUclips is a great source. But what are you looking to learn because it’s something I can potentially help with.

@@CoachRossFootball I don't particularly know much about football, I've always watched hockey and baseball all my life. If you could possibly explain the basic positions that'd be great! I appreciate you taking the time to reply!

@JasonHayes-jq8bs do you want the offensive side of the ball or defensive side?

@JasonHayes-jq8bs Quarterback-receives the snap from center can hand the ball off to a RB run the ball himself, or drop back to pass the ball. The Running lines up in backfield behind or next to QB, either gets a hand off or catches s pass. Wide receivers line up outside far out and in the slot and mainly catch passes but can also receive hand offs out of fast motion plays. Tight end can line up on the line or off of it, can block for the run or pass or catch passes himself.
      Offensive linemen:
Tackles: most outside linemen either side of center
Guards: inside of both tackles either side of center
Center is middle part of line and he snaps ball to QB
Need to have 7 on the line of scrimmage at all times before snap. 5 linemen plus 2 receivers.
There’s more to it but that’s the basics
