Calories in, calories out is the equivalent to "carbon footprint". It keeps the general public busy feeling guilty to ensure the focus stays away from massive systemic problems with our food supply and what big business has convinced us a "normal" diet should be.
Exactly. We have high fructose in diets leading to non alcoholic fatty liver in kids. Now they have diabetes as well. The modern western diet which is full of ultra processed food is to blame and we’re all distracted with calories… Guess what - real food + walking is a calorie deficit. In fact any diet is a form of calorie deficit. Fix the food quality people!
Some foods are more fattening than others. Processed or junk food has been designed to be addictive beyond belief. Children are given sweet addictive food as soon as they can eat. Hunger for addictive food gets worse then before you know hyperglicimia arrives and no amount of dieting or excercise can make things normal again. I think Dr Fung sussed out the truth you need to fast and break the addictions and then work on stress and sleep and gentle excercise .
Mental discipline? Set out a small 1/2 oz piece of dark chocolate (80+%) after dinner, when you have less appetite, and learn (mentally force yourself) to only eat that! You will sleep better !
That entire thing about the BMR decreasing (which is 100% true) is why I don't think OMAD is good for people trying to lose weight. All that does (for MANY people) is lower their BMR. It does for me. I did it for 14 days straight last summer and actually GAINED 1 pound. I work with a R.D. who confirmed doing OMAD can and does lower BMRs for some people.
The trick to OMAD one meal a day is to train your body to burn body fat, which means to do a low carb/keto diet. If your body is burning mostly body fat the whole day, you will not feel hungry and you will lose weight because for your single meal you will not over eat. If you continue to eat a lot of carbs during OMAD you will certainly fail. Willpower on a high carb diet is just simply not enough.
Nope! I eat way more calories now that I have been a faster for 2 1/2 years than I ever did in the previous years. Low calorie diets kill your metabolism.
Simple people have zero self control and continue eating rubbish I have 15% body fat and swim 1 km a day and light weight workout 🏋️♀️ 5 days a week 🤔😉🤟👍

Brilliant analogy. Concur 100%

Thank you for educating us! Dr. Fung and Gin Stephens have changed my whole life!
I've given up chocolate, because i find i can't stop, it's like i have to finish the whole bar.
I hear you!
I have to finish the whole box😂
Try dark chocolate, it has nutritional benefits.

Always so informative ⭐️
What about being hangry? I feel faint and or super moody if I don’t eat.
Your metabolic rate would drop when you fast, because you are cutting calories while fasting.
Yep 👍

Lame Norton and his disciples say this is completely wrong …
It’s all about calories apparently
Interested in your thoughts ?
(I’m with you btw)
I gain weight just eating.🙄
Simple people have zero self control and continue eating rubbish I have 15% body fat and swim 1 km a day and light weight workout 🏋️♀️ 5 days a week 🤔😉🤟👍
The funny thing is fasting is restricting calories. So it Is Calories.
It’s really not. I eat less often, but definitely not less calories.
It’s not .. i ate the same amount of calories per day over a year but ate in a window of time but i lost 15 kg.
Quit with this lame Norton garbage
