on your last iem ranking video i commented three times but after posting it , it got disapered, so i want to thank you in this video comment section about most elaborate iem ranking list you made 🙏🙏
I will wait for 11/11 sale on aliexpress and hopefully find one at a good price, it seems to be a good complement to my current IEMs (EW200 for treble, Artti R1 for bass, just need something more neutral and wasn't finding a lot of options for around 50 USD). I was going to get the tanchjim zero but the lack of removable cables and cheaper build made me hesitant and made me wish "there was a more premium version of it". A few days later this video appears LOL 4:30 - I know you said you prefer foam tips but have you tried penon liqueur silicone eartips? they offered much better seal for me
Hello Andi, i have a question about the 4u : After you tried and love the upcomming tanchjim Bunny (especially for metal 🤟), for your ears what is the Switch tuning position on the 4u to have a similar / approch of this signature sound please ?
This is out of topic but I got the MP145 recently and I'd like to thank you for your recommendations and your answering to my questions regarding this iem. The slightly recessed mid and treble are able to eliminate the piercing issue I had with the OG Zetian, which allows me to listen to it for a long time without fatiguing. The interchangeable filter makes it even more versatile. This set also allows me to understand what high technicality sounds like. I'd like to ask is the VE Abigail Pro enough to drive it to its full potential? If not, what would you recommend that's also portable?
Full potential of MP145 is realized when you scale it with more power, that is the nature of magnetic planars (not just MP145). Abigail Pro, while may appear good enough to drive MP145, you will be pleasantly surprised how much better it will perform with something like EPZ TP50 (in BAL Mode) or AKLIAM PD5/EPZ TP30/Simgot DEW4X etc, all those 4VRMS dongles will bring the best of MP145. My suggestion is, save up a bit more and get those dongles
@@AndyAudioVault Thanks for the recommendations. I prefer warm sound, any of those that I should get/avoid because of this? Edit: I watched your reviews and have a question. Why TP30 and Dawn Pro have the same power rating when based on the spec list, with 4.4mm, one has 270mW and another has 120mW?
@@lyh01 I don't do measurements, I just observe how well they drive 300 Ohm headphones and gauge the prowess from that standpoint, real life test always yields actual results and both DAWN Pro and TP30 exhibited similar power levels with loudness and sound authority
@@AndyAudioVault I see, could you tell me their main differences and which one is better for my situation? They're rated the same in your video but have a RM100 price difference.
Hi Andy, I like the sound of tanchjim, zero, kara, origin and will probably get the 4u. I'm not changing the cables yet. what do you think, which DAC will be better for tanchjim? onix alpa vs. Shanling ua 4? and is there a big difference in setup between 3.5 vs. 4.4?
ONIX Alpha of course, more organic sounding yet transparent and analytical. With ONIX Alpha, on highly scalable IEMs like Zero and 4U, you will hear that the 4.4mm BAL side will offer audible improvements on separation, staging and dynamics
Technically it is an upgrade to EA500, but on timbre, tonality and smoothness, 4U is a sidegrade of which I would even say EA500 does it slightly better
Does this really sound similar to the Origin in natural mode? I love Origin and demo it in the store. Love it, but it is too expensive. If this 4U could actually resemble 90% of the sounds of the Origin, i would snatch it immediately.
Yes is does! 90% of Origin sound and you can even go flatter if you want to with Monitoring. My advise is to invest also in a good copper cable and then you literally negate the need to get Origin
Good thing they put the tuning switches on the IEM than going the DSP route, I have One DSP trust me no one should use the Tanchjim App it's pretty bad & a huge security risk.
Thank you Andy. I'm asking to get your opinion. I use Crinacle Zero red, but the nozzles that go into the ear are a little long and can cause discomfort. Would it make sense for me to switch to this?
My pleasure. I don't have Crinacle Zero Red with me now, so I would not know how long or big the nozzle is. But I can tell you that 4U has 5.5mm diameter nozzle with 5.5mm length, try to compare it in measurements to your Crinacle Zero Red and see if it is smaller or bigger
Hi Andy I bought 4u. While reading your channel I saw that you said that if you match the copper cable well to the natural of 4u, it is 90% similar to TANCHJIM origin. I really like this 4u. So there is no need to buy expensive origin, right?
Details wise, 4U can be more analytical if you put it to Natural or Monitoring mode. Tonality I would say that 4U in Natural sounds flatter and less colored, EA500LM denser with Mids (mild coloration). But you have to take into account, 4U is highly tuneable with the Pop settings bringing the Mids a bit forward
Where is the sennheiser ie200 spinfit w1 ear tip plus timpowin amber cable from your ranking my friend? ie200 comfortable and full sound for alternative to my hidizs mp145 hehe because mp145 is so big but i love the quality and sound.
@@cxmxc why did you say that. Maybe its not your preference set. What is your preference my friend? You know that ie200 is very comfortable in ear because of the size and the sound is fuller
Ditto. Perfect combo and helps improve the soundstage. If not for the fact anything in my ear canal makes it itch (and the isolation), I could forget that I was wearing it.
To help you out, it would be useful to know what sort of sound you like? what sort of music you listen to? those IEMs you mentioned are all excellent performers, but ultimately it boils down to taste and preferences as they are tuned differently
you are really precise with your work, enjoying your reviews alot
I appreciate that! Thanks!
Great review, thank you Andy!
My pleasure!

The tuning dial thing is unique. I like how they didn't opt for a Vshaped or Harman tuning.
Fantastic review, Andy! The background of your video is absolutely stunning!

No I haven't tried the Penon tips. For the most part, I use KZ Foam tips which seems to be working all the time when I need them the most
This Engineer concept is similar to Sennheiser ie900 with three XR chambers.

The closest to match between 4U to Bunny is to use the Natural switch on the 4U
Awesome review sir 👍
Do you plan to review dunu DaVinci anytime soon?
Probably not, unless I can get it

Thanks for the review, I guess the KZs make better value for money since I can have all 3 of them for a half of the 4U asking price...
Actually, with the code 10HIFIGO4U total price drops to USD 60, that's attractive.
How the treble section boss Andy? Sparkling like simgot ew200?
More refined and crisper than EW200

Which is more closer to your target curve Etymotic/ tanchjim Zero ?
Rose techniques City lightyear or this New Tanchjim
My guess would be Etymotic
I think that's pretty obvious since I use Etymotic ER2XR religiously, lol
Now between rose technics lightyear city and this new 4U which ones is more closer to that etymotic sound ?
Andy can tanchjim 4 u can give me behind and over the head type of music experience
You can get that with IEMs that have multiple drivers or hybrids. Single drivers usually don't do that sort of holographic imaging that well
@@AndyAudioVaultcan you please suggest me that type of IEM around 100 or 150 $… there is a Black Friday sale in India
