    Tony's should be replaced by a Princess Tiana Cajun restaurant. I'd love that. I know they have one kind of at Port Oreans, but it isn't "Tiana's Place".

    • @LauraGlorybelle
      @LauraGlorybelle 7 лет назад +13

      I was thinking just today that there needs to be a Tiana's Place at Disney! Although, Tony's is a reference to Lady and the Tramp, so perhaps it should stay as is (with improved food). But I would absolutely eat at Tiana's Place!

    I'm glad I found this video when I did. I have not been to disney for 10 years and I never ate at Tony's. I decided to make a reservation for my family there this time because we were already going to be in Magic Kingdom that day so why not? I was surprised to see it on this list because the reviews are around average three ish stars. No-one really trashed it online. I would have felt awful if I booked a terrible dinner for my parents. I was able to switch it to one of the Epcot Italian places so thank you :) .

      The EPCOT Italian places are absolutely amazing. I remember I got the cheese ravioli at the restaurant we went to last time and I literally would have licked my plate clean if I hadn't been in public 😂 you will enjoy it!

    Totally agree about Boatwright's. I absolutely love POR Riverside and it's so disappointing that the home restaurant is so bad. I would love to go help them turn that around! New menu, real Cajun food, correct execution of food, and a little bit of a better atmosphere. The resort deserves a better restaurant! Love you guys!

    I called to make an ADR at Tony's Town Square for July and they were completely booked, but the lovely cast member suggested that Be Our Guest had an opening for our party size! After seeing this I am super glad we will not be at Tony's. My husband is Italian and we are kind of used to amazing sauce ( mine is ok, but I am referring to his mother's and Nani's sauce). Thanks for the reviews!!

    I cannot believe you guys excluded Liberty Tree Tavern as one of the best 1 credit. I love LTT, and it is an underrated character dinner. I agree with Tony's Town Tavern! Here in the Pittsburgh area, we have a jar sauce from a restaurant in Greensburg, called Rizzo's!! I would like to highly recommend it to them if they insist on jar or canned sauce!!! It was okay, but I agree, it tasted like frozen thawed food to me. I never ate at Ohana, but we ate at the luau and I did NOT like the food. Someone told me they served the same, not sure. I don't like sweet stuff on my meats.

    I completely agree with you that 'Ohana is incredible. This past April, I took my very first trip to Disney World, and even though my friend and I were both 21, I had to book the Lilo and Stitch breakfast. Not only was the food delicious, but the character interactions were so memorable that I will treasure my time there always. They made my entire trip. Everything was amazing, but it was the first thing I did while in Disney, and it completely set the tone for a wonderful trip.

    I make a point to eat at San Angel Inn for lunch every time I go to WDW. I will say that the appetizers and enchiladas are not spectacular (they're eh), but I go back there (only for lunch) for the Tortilla Soup. Every time it's spectacular. It's the, honest to goodness, surprisingly enough, best most authentic tortilla soup I've had since I lived in El Paso, TX. I do not use the TS credit, I choose to just pay cash because value-wise I'd like to use the TS for a more expensive TS restaurant.

    • @matthewbuchanan3174
      @matthewbuchanan3174 7 лет назад +2

      I've been crunching some numbers and I think they wont do Tusker House or Ohana soon because their prices don't justify the move. If you crunch the numbers on what comes with a deluxe dining plan lunch/dinner credit (appetizer, entree, desert, drink) Ohana and Tusker at the best value for Disney as they don't require individual plating the seats are already guaranteed to be full. The guys did make sure to state they weren't talking about the value of the meal credits but rather how they rank those on the list already. I am interested in the value of the plan because that then draws into question if I should use a meal credit or is it best for me to pay out of pocket. I would like to see an episode after someone crunched the numbers a bit as some sites seemed to argue with my numbers (again could just be menu updates) and then it can be on if the value is worth justifying use of a credit. For example Tony's Town Square is a $63 credit (tying it for 17th place) as you getting the most expensive things on the menu but its not worth going according to the Dis team. Morimoto Asia on the other hand is an $83 credit under the same standard. This also develops the question many planning their trips have for should you use a credit for breakfast (which Ohana breakfast would seem t be justified, or do you save the credit, use a snack credit for breakfast and then do somewhere nicer for dinner).

    • @hollybrugha2207
      @hollybrugha2207 7 лет назад +1

      I doubt they will do this at least at TH and Boma - they will have to change the service model. None of the Signature (2-credit) restaurants are buffet style. I wasn't impressed with 'Ohana they forgot us (even though we checked in at both meals on our 2012 trip) I won't be able to get my dad to go back (there were just too many service failures). That is why there are so many different choices in the "World".

It has been better in the past but the last few years...horrible. My understanding from staff is that management changes very regularly there and typically it gets worse each time. Hey Pete, just wanted to let you know that the US flag in the shadow box is behind you is folded in correctly and considered a "bleeding flag" since the banner is showing and should only display the union (1 star in the top row, 3 stars in the second row and 5 in the final row) it's actually a pretty easy fix but understand if it is a bereavement flag.

    Coral Reef restaurant is easily the worst restaurant I've had in Disney world. I booked reservations 180 days in advance. They made us wait 2 hours past our reservation time. My little children, 4 and 6, literally feel asleep in the floor waiting for a table. Then, they brought us food that was cool in the center and seemed really disinterested and apathetic. It was one of the worst meals I've experienced in my entire life, and I'm not even picky.

      Michelle Cok ITA Michelle.... I've been to San Angel Inn MANY times over the years. It's one of our go-to restaurants in Epcot. Mexican food is our family favorite and we are always pleased when we go there. Just goes to show how different people have different tastes/experiences.

    Have loved your site for years and years and your RUclips page is awesome. We are going in June. I was late to the party for planning at `180 days. Really wanted Ohana but was having no luck. Four days ago I got a 4:00 time for Ohana....doing such a happy dance.

    My husband worked for one of the rainforest cafes in another state and he wouldn’t even take me there. Even though he got a discount he still didn’t want to touch that place with a 10 foot pole.

    You're right about changes to Be Our Guest. As of this August (2018) the price will change to $55 per person regardless of what you order.

    I tend to agree with the Kona Cafe being on the best list, however, service there has been spotty at best at least the times I have been there.

    I remember years ago- we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. We went to Boatrights on our first night & it was spectacular. My father loved it just from the one meal... so he wanted to keep going back when we got in late for dinner, etc... it was a fluke. They brought us the wrong meals, we were there forever... we thought the wait staff got lost the one time, or the closed & left us there! Horrible.

    Tony's is so sad. So iconic and yet so terrible. Both times I have dined there were not great. The only up side was for our honeymoon they gave my wife and I Lady and Tramp salt and pepper shakers with our dessert and it was a nice touch to not so great meal.
    I agree with this list completely, both the best and the worst.

    A Disney world restaurant I love that wasn't mentioned in this video, Garden Grill in Epcot! It's a character meal for those who may not know, and in my opinion, the food is great, and the character interaction is usually really good!

    Did somebody else here notice that Pete says Sanna (Honorable mention on the best) Boma is the #1 and Jiko is his #1 for 2 table, he is all about African cuisine, we need more variety here!

    I noticed the other day, while looking at restaurants on the official WDW site, that when you click on the Dining Plan pop-up info for Be Our Guest, it lists breakfast, lunch, and dinner options for 2017, but only breakfast for 2018. It appears that it's phasing out the dining plan for lunch and dinner in 2018, unless that was an error.

    Never been to WDW, but when we went to Disneyland for the first time with our daughter, my husband wanted to do Rainforest Cafe because of the theming. We were excited. It was waaaaaaay overpriced. Yes, it's neat inside, but the food is just basic chain restaurant food, no flavor, tiny portions, etc. It made me depressed that we spent so much of our hard-earned money for that! The service wasn't very good, either.

    The 2017 dining plan you get 2 snacks. They removed including a dessert with a quickservice meal and gave you a separate snack instead

    Sanaa has been my #1 for years now. I don't like some of the spices, but things I DO like there, I really like. We tend to eat there more than once a trip.

    LOL! I really didn't care for Boma. LOVED the decor! Maybe it was just an off day for me. Planning on trying it again. Zebra Dome didn't have any flavor at all.

      Traci Riley im with you!!! I am one of the few who thinks nearly the entire AKL experience is overrated. (Animals a big exception)
      I love the atmosphere but the rooms are dark and the two times I have stayed the service was horrid.....extremely pretentious.

    I went to both Be Our Guest and Rainforest for breakfast. And I found the service and food quality to be much much better at Rainforest.
