Definitely agree with denim bags costing more than regular leather ones. The brands obviously jump on the new hyped fabric and people clearly still pay 😐
Great point. I think fabric/canvas bags used to be more entry level pieces, but brands can up prices now because customers will still pay. I really struggle with that, at similar prices I’ll go for the more durable leather option, even if I like the non-leather style.

I mostly agree with your sentiments. The brands that you tackled really need to take it down a notch. I also can relate to the fabric/canvas bags as I have some for myself and it is a struggle to wear them at times 😅 I have to pair them with light-colored clothes.

I wonder if these brands just throw something against the wall to see if it will stick. Or does real thought go into their decisions. I always think of the emperor who had no clothes story. Are we buying things cuz someone tells us it’s trendy or does it resonate with us. Love how you put real thought into your purchasing decisions. This was a good topic. ❤
Such a great point! When brands extrapolate on earlier successes it quickly feels uninspired to me. Especially for designer brands I have higher expectations, pushing out the same bag in any possible fabric just seems a bit lazy. 🤭
Hmm 🤔 judgy much 😂 the Marc jacobs “the wallet” yep that one did it for me. I was really? However if I find a golden sale on it I probably would buy it 🤦♀️. I do love Marc Jacobs. I’m not a fan of the deconstructed denim Marc Jacobs definitely not my vibe but I did of course like the patch work. I’m not sure if I object to the same price for leather and fabrics because of the need for fine craftsmanship and a good denim can last for years so cost per year wear o can justify that. However I am with you the light canvas are a no, Dooney has come out with an extensive line of the canvas but I will not be getting that it gets too dirty and hard to care for. However I do like the Nylon canvas because that is much easier to clean. Fringe yes there can be too much 🤦♀️ Very good subject tfs

And I agree, fabrics like denim and nylon are quite durable, but it's a psychological barrier for me. 😂 I also wouldn't pay the same for a nylon Longchamp Le Pliage bag as for a leather one. Agreed! If it looks like I could've thought of it or I could have made it myself (with my extremely limited abilities in both), I'm not really looking to spend designer money on it. 😅
