- Hey Everyone! Me and my brother love tons of different anime and we finally convinced our parents to not only watch in general, but also be recorded while doing so! We'd love to make this a reoccurring thing, but today we are watching the first episodes of #naruto #attackontitan #myheroacademia and #jujutsukaisen aka some of our favorite shows.
We know our parents will enjoy them, but since they're so busy it's tough to find the time. We hope you enjoy nonetheless!

My father turned 76 this year (I’m 28) and I introduced him to Death Note (first anime both for me back in the days and him recently). He was really sceptical and prejudiced at first, like „if it’s animated then it’s for kids only“ but after a few first episodes he became absolutely amazed, so we watched the whole series to the very end :) In the end he really enjoyed it and said that now there‘s one less stereotype for him since now. Very valuable, especially when you‘re old 😌
That’s awesome! We definitely wanna watch death note soon. We got ahead of ourselves choosing 2 long animes to start🤣, but I haven’t seen it, so I’m excited for whenever we do.

That happened with my Dad. When we started watching Dragon Ball Z in front of him back in the 90's, he started asking us "When did he have a kid?" and "So that guy never grew huh?" and "What happened to that crazy chick who's hair changed when she sneezed?"
I knew he grew up in LA, but turns out he grew up in East LA before it was East LA. In fact, he still has cousins who live in Lincoln Heights and Oceanside. Being in that part of LA he would get a bunch of broadcast channels coming in from San Diego and Tijuana and thus was very familiar with the original Dragonball as anime was huge in Mexico in the 80's.
He liked Dragonball Z well enough but was disappointed that it wasn't as funny as the original. Also he still considers Saint Seiya or "Los Caballeros del Zodiaco" as peak anime and you can not convince him otherwise along with being disgusted how the American Speed Racer butchered his beloved "Meteoro" with it's condensed episodes and says the 2008 Wachowski's movie was far more faithful than the US dub.

Honestly props to u and ur brother for even having the guts of sharing ur passion in anime to your parents. Some parents if not almost all will be uninterested to even dismmisive of what their childrens interests are. Them agreeing to sit down and watch is amazing. Just found out about thsi channel and already loving it. 👍

Itadori having that crazy physical prowess is definitely surprising but purposeful. Everyone in the show points out how it's crazy he's that strong without cursed energy. There is a reason to everything however, and it will be explained one day.

Actually in the anime and Manga it has been explained, to a point why he is that strong if you can comprehend the story plot at the end of the Shibuya incident. I can go into a bit of spoilers if you want but all you have to do is thing about who his parents are.

I would appreciate you guys would wait till half way or end of the episode to ask your parents open ended questions rather than leading questions (asking for general thoughts and what they thought for example before asking more specific questions) I think it would really allow them to express their true thoughts and hear more from them. Yeah! Alex has seen death note, but I (Brady) REALLY wanna watch it, so we definitely will with them at some point! Me and Alex both didn’t finish CB, so it’s likely they wouldn’t have the attention span as well unfortunately.
I could never do this with my parents now. Me and my dad shared a love of Marvel and Star Wars though. One of my favorite memories was seeing The Avengers at a movie theater with him.
Maybe you could watch clone wars and ease him in 😏

@@GoldFamilyReactions Out of this 4, Naruto is my life's anime, despite getting into it pretty late, in 2020. Jujutsu Kaisen is my current obsession and I even read the manga out of curiosity for where the story goes.
DBZ and many other throughout the years, anime is part of my life since I was a kid.

The one thing id say is you should explain everything to them yes, but for some things wait until the anime explains them and then tell them if they didnt get it from the anime.

Because the second episode is the episode that gets everyone hooked on mha. Its the episode that makes you say "yeah im gonna end up watching this whole series"

Ok, I an a sub watcher. And I will admit that dubs are not bad. The voice acting is great. But the voice acting from the original Japanese voice actors is on another level. The dub voices are great, but the originals are legendary. Plus, I don’t know why, but I think the tone and sound of the original voices just sound so much more unique and interesting. Specifically talking about the more iconic voice actors. I also think it somehow just sounds more real. Whenever I watch dub, something about the way they talk just doesn’t sound right and it takes me out. Maybe because I know the language and can tell what’s weird with the intonations. But it just doesn’t sound right or feel real. The Japanese voice actors make me feel like the voices are actually coming from those characters and that those characters are living breathing people.
Yeah fair enough! Sometimes the translations make the dub kinda wonky. For some reason I find it really hard to differentiate voices in other languages so I’m kinda the opposite to you in that respect lol.
@@GoldFamilyReactions yeah, I can totally understand that. When I first started watching dubs, I couldn’t really differentiate voices either. But I’m sure you can discern the very distinct voices like Dio’s voice actor.

10:57 I'm a sub master race all the way, but I started rather young, so I was able to learn how to interpret Japanese somewhat quickly xD. I was always a reader over a listener in the first place, because of hearing issues anyway, so that's most of what drove me to that side in the beginning, even in just english and native tongued languages (From Faroe Islands, so I know 3 languages, Faroese, Danish and English, just bc I grew up there). As I grew up, I started to disassociate with the way people would dub anime, and I cringe every single sentence that gets delivered, because they have to emphasize emotion in their delivery, so it all gets exaggerated and unnatural for me. So since I didn't know how normal japanese people spoke, it became way easier to lose myself in the sub versions.
But allll that being said, it's a tall task to ask native english speakers to fully immerse themselves in a show in japanese, and then there's also just people who don't like to read while they're enjoying their media of choice xD. So all power to whatever choices anyone makes, so long as you enjoy it. But to me, there will always only be one right answer ;).
I would recommend Vinland Saga with english dub, That's how I got my parents into their first anime.

I've really got to start Naruto again. I started it years ago and the dub icked me so bad that I stopped. But I need to try again in Sub. (No, I'm not a dub hater, I've watched a lot of dubs, but that one really bothered me for some reason.) The AOT dub is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
How far did you get?? The dubs pretty bad at first, but many shippuden characters have some top tier dubs

I feel like for full grown adults who don't watch anime, you have to go with AOT first 2 episodes, and Death Note first 2 episodes.
