Would You Ride in a Driverless Taxi?

  • Two-hundred-and-forty driverless taxis have hit the streets of San Francisco. They’re part of a company called Cruise, owned by Detroit-based manufacturer, General Motors. The cars are deployed by an app, and unlike competitors Uber and Lyft, Cruise cars are only available at night. Just like a regular taxi, the cost of a Cruise ride depends on how far you go. Prices start at a base rate of $5, then tack on a $0.90 per mile and $0.40 per-minute rate.

Let hope thieves haven’t figured out how easy they would be to manipulate simply by blocking its path and robbing the occupants. It’s a machine. It’s doesn’t know what a threat is.
