I’d never heard this song before I watched you perform it on Boardwalk Empire. My mother never sang Irish songs despite being 100% Irish and probably knowing many of them, I think they made her too sad. I know the lyrics are slightly changed, but the way you sing it makes it one of those songs that stick with you. Well done.
I've been wanting a full version ever since I started watching Boardwalk empire in April this year. Your voice comforted me during a difficult time when I couldn't find employment because of the pandemic. And to see that you have posted a full version really does seem surreal. Absolutely magnificent, beautiful pure powerful proper irish tenor voice, fantastic range, depth and tone, brilliant! the like I haven't heard since frank Patterson, sadly my first instinct would have been to rush to let my father hear you(himself a great tenor), but he passed last year. He would have been moved to tears. Bravo from Belfast!
My dad would have loved listening to this also, gone nearly 24 years now. His favorite was Danny Boy and I would buy a CD/download of your Irish songs in a heartbeat. Better than Seamus Kennedy. Fantastic ! ! !

I wish there's a way to edit the version you did in Boardwalk without the asshole characters who ruin the moment with their dysfunctional rubbish. When the men then sing with you as a chorus it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! But thank you for this as well! God Bless!
