I can't get over how aggressive Russian Circles music is even without a vocalist. Much heavier than any of them.
Pretty sure that snare could be classified as a weapon of war. Russian Circles have the best drum sounds in rock and roll

I also love the sound of the snare of the new Shape of Despair LP. But yeah..Dave is such a savage.
And turncratz has a style of play that is so unique i never seen anyone drum like him

Watched a video for a guitar pedal company on how Brian and Mike play Moda without the drums. Watching that really shows how much he adds to the music...

It's what elevates stuff like "C. Thomas Howell As The 'Soul Man'" and "Youngblood" from great songs to masterpieces.
@@honeycomblord9384 Agreed. His bass riff in Arcing Silver from SUMAC literally crushes planets. It's ridiculous. My favorite of Russian Circles is the apex section on Mladek. Absolutely floored me.

I remember the first time I heard Russian circles.... This track is giving me the same feeling I had that first time. Unreal, relentless riffage. SUPREME

I had a copy of Geneva and didn't think too much of it, but went to see them live earlier this year and they blew me away. Awesome band

Saw them opening for Clutch 2 or 3 times during the mid 2000's in the Baltimore area... Was blown away by them the first time seeing them and have been a big fan ever since.

So cool to hear Brian still playing in bands that I enjoy immensely (RC, Sumac...) having witnessed Botch (several times) leave a trail of destruction all throughout the Pacific Northwest back in the late '90s to their final show in Seattle back in '02...
Met Brian in 97 at a basement show in RI. They were touring with Nineironspitfire and Ink & Dagger. Before Botch blew up. Really amazing 25 years later Brian is still killing it. Great dude!

Hoping to see you in Boston in November at The Sinclair!!! The last time I went to see you guys was also in Massachusetts, but I had a terrible kidney infection that forced me to lay on a bench in the lobby of the venue, in the fetal position. But I stayed as long as I could and what I heard "live" was absolutely phenomenal. Can't wait to pay you guys a proper visit🤘💀
