    The difference between Mayuzumi and Kuroko is that Kuroko was blocking, stealing and shooting on Super star players with extremely flashy moves such as Vanishing Drive, Phantom Shot and Misdirection Overflow. Remember Akashi said that the Buzzer Beater against Kise was the final straw but it was an gradual process. Mayuzumi just seem like a regular guy on his team and he only shoots when he's open, so the attention is barely on him. Akashi's Emperor Eye is like the sharingan, I would not try to fight him especially if he has his scissors on him. Remember he made Kagami kneel off court, I'm sure he has hands.

    Mayuzumi is just playing regular basketball pretty much in a team full of flashy superstars so its way different from Kuroko using the flashiest moves like vanishing drive. Ofc Kuroko would be noticed more.
    Especially in a tournament setting like this where he plays like every day

      Yeah and they didn't make it as a superpower move or plot move. It's just a normal move after Rakuzan crushed all Seirin's hopes by sheer power.
      But also a good setup for how Akashi can do in the next episodes.

      in aomine's case it's understandable cos aomine didn't practice since then, in murasaki it makes sense cos he's too lazy to move that's why he stays at their court for defense right? but i do agree, seirin has the craziest plot armor especially on this fight lmaoooo

    imma try and explain why Mayazumi can shoot and its not a problem. Mayazumi's fundementals are good. Hes a normal player who can shoot some pointers and can dribble before he learned missdirection. This means its not surprising if he does it. In Kuroko's case, if u remember from the flashback on middle school, he was bad at basketball. he didnt know how to dribble or shoot. Remember how he was even almost kicked off the team cuz he was bad. Then he learned misdirection. and after mastering misdirection he starts shooting so he becomes more noticeable. The difference between Mayazumi and Kuroko is that Mayazumi already knew how to shoot and drible so its normal for him to do it with no surprise, and Kuroko DIDNT know how to shoot and drible so doing it is surprising. Hope this was clear

    • @Kal911
      @Kal911 2 года назад +2

      the point is that every play Mayuzumi makes is utterly ordinary, Kuroko's shoting and driving are flashy moves, not basic stuff. That's why he can shot and dribble some times without losing misdirection, because it's just an average move.

  • @BTNironOfficial
    @BTNironOfficial 2 года назад +3

    Wytm uman you asked about how Mayuzumi uses misdirection when everyone can see him, so I'll explain.
    At the Shutoku vs Seirin match in S1, Midorima thoroughly explained that Kuroko can not hold the ball because the ball has presence on the court. When the ball has presence on the court, whoever holds the ball has presence as well. That's why Kuroko only taps and punches the ball for a mere second so that his opponents don't see when he actually passes. To top it off, he uses misdirection by making contact with his opponents gaze and directing it to another area or person to misdirect them. Basically if Izuki is being Point Guard and tryna do a counter attack, Kuroko could make Kotaro (the lightning guy) look at Akashi, simple because Kuroko observe's people on a daily basis and recognises their habbits and emotions, and misdirections their gaze and attention based on all of that. This is what he said in an extra btw. Basically, **Mayuzumi is not actually trying to use misdirection at all WHEN HE IS HOLDING THE BALL, just like Kuroko isn't tryna use misdirection, WHEN HOLDING THE BALL. The only time Kuroko uses misdirection when holding the ball is when he does his Phantom Shot, and directs his opponent's gaze to the NEWLY IMPROVED KAGAMI. But Mayuzumi doesn't have Kagami.**
    You can only use Misdirection when you do not have the ball.
    When you hold the ball you are not trying to use misdirection, and also can not do that magical pass.
    Mayuzumi is 6'0 tall and can shoot, put bluntly. Mayuzumi is an average player and can do basic plays, Kuroko can't do that though because of his physical stature, he's 5'6, really fragile and has terrible shooting distance and stamina.
    Yes, they see Mayuzumi when he's shooting. When he's shooting he's just taking a normal jump shot, but they do not see him when he doesn't HOLD the ball cuz that's when he's using misdirection.

    That’s actually weird now that you mention it. Kuroko’s been spamming vanishing drive and phantom shot for damn near the whole tournament, and people only start noticing him in the finals. Then there’s Mayazumi who scores ten points and suddenly everybody sees him. Sus man

    • @Kal911
      @Kal911 2 года назад +6

      Actually, in the manga it was even clearer, if they subbed Mayuzumi out, Kuroko would have lost his lack of presence again (he is not invisible anymore, period, in fact he never used Vanishing Drive nor Phantom Shot in the whole game, those moves are lost for Kuroko in High School), the only reason why they kept him in the game was Kagami range in the Zone, Akashi needed a decoy to pass the ball safely and so he kept Mayuzumi to use him. If in that exact moment Kagami didn't return in the Zone, Kuroko's effort would have been totally wasted. That was the turning point of the game, it was there or never.

      People's minds are easy to realize contrasts. And we only judge things when put them in comparison. Sometimes you think a player is so good but then he lost against another player, you immediately fix your impression about him. Now you consider him weak.
      Kuroko can be flashy the whole tournament, but he put himself in a direct matchup versus Mayuzumi. People sees that Mayuzumi is dominating Kuroko, which gives them the impression that Mayuzumi is way more flashier.

    Hop off the bench players mate, everybody has to start somewhere lol. My brother rode the bench in middle school and his first 2 years of highschool and when he finally got a chance he excelled and 2 years later he ended up getting a D1 scholarship.
