I love mine. I think it's a great conversation piece if it's somewhere in your living room.

@MrJun909 I believe it uses a turbine type of thing in there, not blades per se. An analogy would be on a plane, a jet engine versus a propeller plane I suppose.

@MrJun909 What's interesting about this design is that 1x air goes in from the base but 15x air comes out the circle. It amplifies the air and ends up taking most of the air from the back of the circle. It seems to me, a very efficient design.

I have seen the fan base open. It has an axial fan much like the compressor stage on a jet engine. I does pick a lot of dust.

@santiarangom The instruction manual states to brush off any dust in the vent holes periodically. I believe that is all that ever needs to be done.

Glad you are happy with your Dyson fan. I wouldn't buy one as I compared this side by side and the machine appeared quite poor & noisy compared to other cheaper fans. But glad you like yours.

@hobbo3003 Look for sales. Also, on eBay they seem to go for less than retail so that may be a good option too.

Don´t kid yourself about the cleaning. The fan does have blades inside the body and they do pick up a lot of dust and have to be cleaned over time if performance is to be mainteined!!!

@ttk1opc Not any more. I donated my 'normal' fan to charity already. I doubt it took less power though, probably took about the same or more.

@hobbo3003 Also, check out the link I put in the description field. I see that there are sellers on Amazon who generally sell this for a good price.

@Jara0204 That may be what you think but you are just guessing without knowing the actual technical details of the design. I've not heard of anyone actually experiencing the issue.

@phototristan ,well seems you're off of experience too ,I know the FAN it just have an AirTurbine-Like in the base and as air have to come in beneath base it will pickup lots of dust and that means cleaning up once in a while ,guess Mr Jara0204 pointed u in the right direction....and Yes I have experienced the issue... :)

Do you have an ordinary fan that you could test to see how the watt usage compares?
