I can't believe this is how they work. ..this is worth no more than $30... when i was younger i thought this design had some kind of ionizing capability. ..also thought it used electromagnetism to push the air. ....again. ...I CANNOT believe this was ever hyped.
I can't help but notice that they didn't hold the dry ice up to the other fan. I wonder why? I also noticed that the Dyson seemed pathetically weak when moving the air. It looks like it only moved about 5 feet. With a tiny fan blade, I guess I'm not surprised that it doesn't move much air. As far as cleaning goes, how do you clean the inside tube parts that the air moves through?
I'm starting to think everybody who's ever reviewed a Dyson fan is payed off by Dyson. I bought an AM08 and it's awful. It blows less air than a regular cheap fan and it's terribly noisy. And yet, every test and review I can find about Dyson fans say they're awesome. I don't get it.
Probably, it's on the floor after all, where all the dust is. I didn't use it for that long though, just for a couple of days, before I sent it back. Now I have a tiny cheap plastic fan that I'm borrowing from a friend. I have it set on the lowest setting. I can't hear it, and it blows at least 5 times more air than the Dyson fan did.
You're not the only one I got the AM08 and found its performance lacking even at the max setting, I got my $600 back and got are $100 hella brand fan which pushes more air on number 1 then the AM08 did on number 10 and I can barely hear it.
tomas sandven i call bulshitt IV NEVER BOUGHT A DYSON HOOVER IV ALWAYS FOUND THEM OUTSIDE PEOPLE HOMES THEY THROW AWAY AN THEY ALWAYS WORK AND ARE THE POWERFULLEST HOOVERS IV EVER USED SO I DOUBT THERE $700 FAN IS RUBBISH AN CAN BE BEAT BY A $5 FAN LIKE YOU SAY.
Basically pass high speed air through a baffle. Apparently Dyson didn't invent this type of fan and tried to patent it after the original patent expired but was refused as his design showed no innovation. The "innovation" on his new application seems to be the contouring of the inner surface (the wing design). Of course, every fan moves more air than passes through the blades unless it is blowing air into a vacuum. Blow into the air, how much air do you think you move, is it just the air you exhaled or are you moving all the air around and in front of your breath? I can't believe people fell for this.
What is it multiplying ? The output of a tiny fan, which would be useless as a room fan. So you take a tiny fan, multiply its output, to give the same output as a conventional fan. Its a convincing slight of hand. The dyson costs 15 times as much as a conventional fan. Now which would be better; 15 conventional fans or one dyson? The answer is 15 conventional fans - they would produce a gale instead of a breeze!
"there's no fan in it ". Then how does it move the air it has a fan in it and when the fan gets dirty you have to unscrew alot of screws just to reach a small fan and clean it where as the Normal one can be cleaned easily and can move more air and save electricity because the Dyson has to work way harder to produce the same air flow as a normal fan and it should sound louder than the normal one
Actually masked uchiha is 100% correct. I have fixed many Dyson products and the cheap quality and the absolute LIE of "Bladeless" make this a huge scam. Dyson himself is a scam artist.
QVCtv are good at marketing. It is not quiet. Presenter says it is very very quiet!!! Please be honest, it is loud!!! Don't buy this if you are noise sensitive. Can't believe dyson made such a noisy jet sounding fan.
Given that the science of how air moves is a tricky subject, this sales pitch is not too inaccurate. " Amplifying the air " is bit misleading; air is being forced through an annular duct over the top edge of an aerofoil shape which induces a zone of lowered pressure. This in turn causes extra air to be entrained into the big hole. The result is a lowering of the aggregated air velocity through the device, which is steady and is moving slower than the blast of air moving from a typical conventional fan. Obviously another advantage is that a child no longer risks injury by putting its finger into the turning fan blades. The cleverest part is the design of the high speed motor and also how well-engineered is the impeller which it drives. A conventional fan actually adds heat to the room due to heat loss from the motor. In the Dyson unit these losses are minimized. As to price - well ! Usually in life you get what you pay for.
Wow, just listened to how loud it is. Not worth it. I've heard how loud these are in person...again, not worth it. And, I've tried one of their vacuums...cheap, plastic, falls apart easily.
The only way I would ever want one is if it came with an hour with that hot model and even then the price would have to be reduced just a little, what a over priced gimmick.
this is the problem with the people, when the cellphone still not invented people are thinking if there's anybody can make invention (for cellphone)then when it was invented people become bashers!but in the end they are also using it,what they know are just bashing people who have a great mind be open minded guys!technology depends on human work don't let your human mind depends on the technology get my point?😁
And the rest is approximately 78% Nitrogen with the remaining 1% on other gasses like CO2 and Farts, etc. I'm not debating the composition ratio of air here, just pointing out the fact that humans don't breathe CO2 as our main source of life support. I know I may have taken my initial comment to the extreme since the amount of dry ice they used for their demonstration wasn't enough to cause any serious harm to the host in the environment they were in. Nevertheless, it was still funny watching her trying to attempt to murder the dude, if not herself.
"Very very quite"... I doubt it
It is
Why are they screaming then?
so basically it picks up the dust from the ground and shoots it up your face
That’s funny
Don't the propellers inside still need cleaning
Yes they do.
Yep and Dyson doesn’t make it easy to open well I don’t think so..
One is 20 dollar while other one is 300 dollar
They can both be yours now for only 27 low payments of 17.99
Actually this fan does not have air filtration. So it won't help remove pollen or allergy causing particles (I own one of these fans).
I can't believe this is how they work. ..this is worth no more than $30... when i was younger i thought this design had some kind of ionizing capability. ..also thought it used electromagnetism to push the air. ....again. ...I CANNOT believe this was ever hyped.
Yea. We got bamboozled!
I want one of these for my room, but I’m not paying $300! But the cheap ones on Amazon are SUS
you still have to periodically clean the inner fan blade mechanism within. no such things as no blades, just hidden.
"We all want to save money" yeah you'll have to with the price of this thing!

Does the intake get full of dust?

Tomas Sandven i agree! I love their vacs but the fan.... not impressed

Well you know the saying "A fool and their money are soon parted".
Speak up, I can not hear you...
If you are a frequent flyer and misses cabin sounds then this fan is for you

LOL that the bladeless fan's base was shoved in a carpet rug to keep it from falling/slipping. @ 5:42
I would never have thought of the evolution of the computer as a credible analogy to the evolution of the fan, so I just learnt something new today :)
That "wahwah" sound is actually a murmurmurmur like sound.
her hair is not moving at all.. either the fan is underpowered or her hair is made from iron
ceasefire - I noticed that too. I wasn't convinced by this video. It would be more entertaining if it sucked her dress off.
It was blowing the other way
Wrong. Watch the video again and this time....PAY ATTENTION.
Too much hairspray.
Does this fan have air filter on the inside that needs to be changed every so often?
I admire the work and the idea and for me it's awesome that's it!

Bollocks!

It has a very small fan in the bottom, which is why the air movement is so poor.
lol can’t believe its been 5 years since i wrote this
@@MAGAMAN yes and therefore needs more power
Easier to clean?
Remove the plastic salespeople, and it's pretty cool.

Not with Dyson.
Waiting for CPU fans by dyson
Amplify air!?
That's basically what every conventional fan do.
I like the chic...
Nice fan in that air condition is available
When this thing becomes the same price as a box fan, i'll buy it. Till then, i'll stick with my box fan
funny watching qvc explaining old/same mechanics as if it were Roswell ufo other worldly new found technology!!! lmao
It’s kinda noisy like an Industrial Fan. Can’t sleep with that machine noise
But why?
how you cline the inside?
*clean*
Sounds loud but at least it doesn't have that annoying hum.
I am much more interested in her... ;-)
Sorry, I know it's rude to make two posts in succession, but I've not laughed so much in ages. LOL.
Who is the girl? Does she have a social media account?
I was seeing this on HSN. Looks like this technology has been around for years. Nothing new.
WOW!! I take ten!
I gotta have a fan that makes noise to sleep
But an old fan design is more durabl than that one😕
i am going to build an aircraft out of this..
yerdeki bütün tozu yüzümüze üfler lan bu
Nice legs
Turkçe anlatimi olabilirmi.

а винтялятро сука на полу
Terrible for more!!
With this fan your paying for the Dyson name these are absulutely rubbish
That fan is noisy.
What a terrible explanation of thermodynamics XD
Worst sales people ever🤣
too expensive, better buy a a cheap fan
You cannot be a drum fan
LOL. I guess QVC doesn't have a health and safety department because both of them are breathing in carbon dioxide.
Carbon Dioxide? Doesn't everyone breathe carbon dioxide? :P
No. All humans and animals breath oxygen.
Jayee Under 21% of the air you breathe is oxygen... :')
And the rest is approximately 78% Nitrogen with the remaining 1% on other gasses like CO2 and Farts, etc.

This fan is a Chinese scam and I am of chinese descent. Tokyo Shibaura came up with this in 1981.
