Instead of worrying about Caitlin’s logo 3’s, the coach should have the rest of them practicing layups!
What people aren’t talking about at this point is the fever’s coach wants her to only take uncontested shots. Which will just make her as boring to watch as the rest of the league. Her style in college was the most entertaining because she took daring and challenging shots that people could not believe. If they change that they will lose the fan interest that Caitlin has built during her college career.

What is interesting and most people don't realize is that while Catlin is learning to play with new people. Those teammates are also learning to play with her and are adjusting to her style of play as she is adjusting to their play.

I think the Comish should have a word with the coach about messing with her profit-sharing. If that warning is not loud and clear, it would be easy to make up SA charges against the coach since most of the league is in that alternate lifestyle. I'm sure after the backlash from her comments this week, she will make a clarifying statement saying they are going to optimize Caitlin's talents. In general, the coach should let Caitlin speak for Caitlin, and she should stick to inside the court lines and keep her mouth shut. The COACH is NOT the Star, Caitlin is. So, the coach should stick to coaching the other 10 misfits on the team and get them to run faster and make layups under the basket.

This season the Fever may sell out all 20 home games, Several are already sold out. So, they probably outdraw the Pacers on per game attendance. Big advantage to play 20 instead of 40 as the Pacers.. If the 24/25 Fever have a losing record and the Pacers win 50 games it will flip
No chance Coach Sides will squander Clark's potential by changing her style and she will be fired and replaced with someone who will save the Fever and the WNBA.

I watched the Aces/Puerto Rico preseason game yesterday. I had to shut it off at halftime. I wanted to see Kate Martin's WNBA debut. She never stepped on the court. Although I understand they threw her in at the last minute.
The entire first half of the game, the rest of the team were acting like hotdogs while running up the score. Talk about boring! I guess, instead of putting on an interesting exhibition game, they decided to let their egos loose, showing off their bravado while humiliating the other team.
Yay! Good for them. I'm sure they they felt quite proud of themselves.
I felt sorry for the poor saps who actually paid to attend that crap. I had planned on watching the Aces opener, which is showing on ESPN2 after the Fever game May 14th, but I'm not going to waste my time.
If yesterday is any indication, they consider Martin deadweight on the team with no worth on the court. If she isn't cut, which wouldn't surprise me, she will get little playing time. I wish her the best, but I won't suffer through another Aces game. It's too painful. And illustrates exactly why no one watches the WNBA.
As for Coach Sides; every time she opens her mouth, she makes a fool of herself. A rookie coach with no real experience who is way out of her league in coaching Caitlin Clark. We are not here to see WNBA play, but Caitlin Clark play. How dense can you be?

The talent that came out of college and into the WNBA this year was very good. Cameron Brinks, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are all showing amazing promise for only playing one or two exhibition games. It's going to be difficult for the next WNBA draft to have the same amount of talent.

As a lifelong Indianapolis resident (except the years away for college) I can 100% guarantee you that the Fever will NEVER EVER outdraw the Pacers. They might be able to have a higher percentage of home games sold out just to the fact the Pacers play more. If the Fever sellout half the games (9) it would be 50% versus a handful of regular season home games for the Pacers. That will be the only metric that the Fever would have over the Pacers.

The Aces are still head & shoulders above everyone else as a TEAM & the Fever have a long way to go to match the Aces, js. Attendance will boost around the league. I, as an example, never watched a WNBA game ever until last year as a direct result of Caitlins success. I was curious about the next level. Watched every iowa game this season. From this I bought the WNBA league pass. I watched the Sparks/Mercury game last night. It was terrible in the beginning but it got decent in the second half but it was fun. I will be watching other teams but will of course the Fever will be my team.
I’m doing the same as you are. I watched that game last night in hopes that I could enjoy the W beyond Caitlin’s games. That game last night was easily the sloppiest 4 quarters of basketball I’ve ever watched on TV. Reminded me of my daughter’s middle school games. Obviously the talent is ten fold higher and more. But, it seemed like the faster they played, pushing the tempo up to the pace of Clark with Iowa, the wheels fell off. How both teams scored well is beyond me. How, often can one say the horrible officiating was better than the overall performance of the players? Weird, because the gals have talent.

This has changed in the last - 10, 15 years. And it's changed because there's an audience, and there's an audience because mums and dads can now see their daughters enjoying watching and playing sports that previously were the preserve of men and boys. And the mums and dads are taking their kids to women's games. At the Fever/Wings game, they interviewed parents who'd driven their kids 4, 5, 6 hours just to watch the game. It's difficult to see these changes being undone. And if that's right, then women's sports is going to become more and more popular. Viewership of men's sports will probably not change much - but viewership of women's sports will continue to rise.
Coach Sides publicly putting Caitlin’s game down is career suicide. Coaches coach I get that. But publicly to the best thing that’s happened to the WNBA? Sides has had more jobs than Mr clean has cleaned floors and most were as an assistant coach. I sent the video of sides PUBLICLY criticizing her game. I don’t have a problem of the coach giving CC direction, but in the public? What’s her motivation. She wants her to do less 3’s and more 2’s. She’s from LSU so of course hmmmm….. Is she trying to “dumb her down”. This coach is dumb. All she needs to do is sit back and blow her nails dry and let Caitlin go. Caitlin is a team player. So she won’t take over the team. CC is the best thing to happen to the WNBA. Nike, Indianapolis, the bookies, fans, the Fever, the great NBA players like LeBron are not going to sit back and watch you try to destroy her.
