Diana is 42 years old and isn’t even the 2nd best player on her team anymore. Or take off Chelsea Gray - who has been injured all year and hasn’t even played a game yet. Clark has better 2024 numbers than Chelsea’s 2023 numbers. Both of these players are guards just like Caitlin.
Taurusi is more efficient. Better percentages and way less turnovers. Chelsea gray is shooting way way better than clark and way less turnovers. Plus they both have tons of experience.

Caitlin has demonstrated the physical strength and ability to handle the international game at the junior level (3 Gold medals and MVP honors). Caitlin's ability to excel with the WNBA players who won the last 7 Olympic Championships is also meaningful. Building cohesion with the women 4th in assists in the WNBA seems worth the effort for millions of fans and promoting women's basketball here and around the world. Because of defensive 3 seconds, players are allowed to stay inside the paint minimizing the floor spacing. Fouls are not called as easily and she is a small guard, she has not taken wnba contact well. Rossi is a 3 time gold medalist, be real. Caitlyn is a phenomenal player and may be the best player in the league or of all time, she is simply not there yet. She may be the best rookie of all time, she is not there yet.
