You are a great teacher! So many instructional videos on youtube are impossible to get through and not helpful. Not only do you know so much, but you explain it flawlessly (and explaining the chords in guitarist terms = genius). Thank you so much!
I hate instructional videos where the presenter says, do this, and then you can't see what their right hand is doing. Your presentation is extremely clear. thanks.
Way late to this party, but if you click the 3dots in the upper right of the video, you can change the playback speed. I find that playing at 75 or 50% makes it easier to follow.
Total beginner here, I do have extensive experience in AM/FM radio... Really like how you showed a close up of your fingering in addition to explaining which finger where it really helped! Thanks
loved your version of twelfth street rag, just have to learn the c dim chord on the uke, will be pracising this one thankyou for your performance you make the uke sing
Excellent lesson . I already play ( strum and pick in my own fashion - rubbish really ) but want to learn the odd one or two on the uke . This is one I want to do . Thanks !.
thank you...more more lessons, you're so clear helpful and joyful. Could you propose tunes with only three fingers on left hand, as I'm missing the little one, lost in the sky?
I'm enjoying playing this, but I wish there were more instruction on that middle part. It's glossed over and I will need to figure it out on my own. But it does sound pretty good even without the middle part.
You are fantastic! love all of your lessons and hope for more. The 12th Street Rag is giving me a hard time. How do I syncopate and do I strum down on on c up on c maj. down on c 6th up on c etc. or something else? Thank you.
Max- this video was made a LONG time ago! You can get detailed video lessons from Marcy at www.truefire.com, and make requests in her Truefire channel for specific songs/tunes if they aren't there for only $15 a month. truefire.com/channels/acoustic-planet/h2414
This is SO great, I’m starting to be able to play it pretty smoothly… …BUT I just relistened to the performance video and this only covers part of the song as played there! That last part, sort of a partial rising G7 shape continues on and then keeps going. Is that part taught anywhere? EDIT: I take it back. I watched again and it seems like there is a little riff based on that partial G7 and then the whole song is repeated but just fancier I think, with some flourishy strums and a third time really really fast …I think. I’m going to work on it.
Marcy, the lesson does not deal with all the tabs you play and I would like to buy any of your books which include tabs for this song. Can you help? Great video.
Hi Marcy, I really enjoyed the lesson you taught on the 12th Street Rag and have practised hard on this tune. It's become much more fluent and most of it I can play. I'm having trouble, though on the flourishes you play and have stopped the video time after time but no matter what I do I can't get them. When I try to position my fingers as yours are in the video, I'm not getting the same notes. I'm having particular trouble with Minute 4.00 -4.30. My Uke is tuned High G, C, E, A. If yours is tuned differently, could you let me have the chords for the flourishes for my type of Uke? I'm fine with the D7 you demonstrate. Thanks again for the video. I just need to get the small bits I'm not following at present.
3:30 is kicking my a**. She says C chord, then F oops, then I think D7. Is the F chord not supposed to be there? Also, at 4:30, the same part of the song sounds completely different than it did at 3:30. So what chords is it supposed to be?
@@NoHomerS Good call. It should be: C, CM7, Am7, x8 G7sus4, G7, Dm/G, x16 C, CM7, Am7, x8 Then C, Cadd9, C7, F, Cdim At least I'm like 90% sure that those are the names of those G chords.
You are a great teacher! So many instructional videos on youtube are impossible to get through and not helpful. Not only do you know so much, but you explain it flawlessly (and explaining the chords in guitarist terms = genius). Thank you so much!
Thanks Marcy. Every time I play this it puts a smile on my face.

I love the sound of that banjo, tricky to play the different notes at that speed but I will perservere

I'm enjoying playing this, but I wish there were more instruction on that middle part. It's glossed over and I will need to figure it out on my own. But it does sound pretty good even without the middle part.
Janet Beatrice Yes that middle part is confusing to me, like a puzzle, I need to watch the video many times to figure it out.
We're any of you able to get it down?
Love it! I'll try it!
great lesson ... thanks .

Very cool! Thanks for that!
Briliant video. Thank you!!!
Love it! Is there a version for baritone uke??
I love this thanks for posting
brilliant im just learning to play the banjolele
thank you, please teach us some more stuff!
Every ukulele strummer should watch these banjolele videos and apply these (banjo) strums on the standard uke.
good job, like this tutorial, thankyou
Very clear, thank you!
Thank you so much. I love it.
Very good tuition , have you got tabs for this

Can you show me how to play... Moonlight on the Wabash?
Great stuff - thanks for sharing :-)
Did anyone click the link and it sent you to a Chick Fil A coupon website??
Me too! I cant get the chord sheet. Want to learn this!
Yes, a weird highjacking. All things considered, I really doubt she would endorse Chik-fil-a. Really bad taste.

C, Cmaj7, Amin7, G7sus4, G7, Dmin/G. Repeat twice.
C, Cadd9, C7, F, Cdim. Flourish.
what is the C dim chord please. I forgot!!!
Does anyone know which variation of the c dim chord she's playing?
Thank you so much!
That web address in the description doesn't seem to exist anymore. :( Is there a new/alternate address?
Can you put the chords on your page for us newbys?
Hello a pleasure to greet you, excellent your video, closer to the screen would be more better ... thanks for your kindness

What about the middle part/intro??
Thank you!
nice one
Hi Marcy,

Hi Maire, Did you manage to figure it out?
i don't get the stumming and note combination is( down note 1)( up note 2)( down note 3)( or down up note 1)down up note 2)down up note 3??
if figured it out, first note down second note up last note down up
3:30 is kicking my a**. She says C chord, then F oops, then I think D7. Is the F chord not supposed to be there?
Also, at 4:30, the same part of the song sounds completely different than it did at 3:30. So what chords is it supposed to be?
Je comprends rien à ce que tu dis ... mais je comprends bien et j'aime ce que tu fais !
what brand banjolele is that?
Since the chord sheet no longer exists:
C, Cmaj7, Amin7, G7sus4, G7, Dmin/G x2.
C, Cadd9, C7, F, Cdim
What song is this? It doesn't match what she's doing.
@@NoHomerS Good call. It should be:
C, CM7, Am7, x8
G7sus4, G7, Dm/G, x16
C, CM7, Am7, x8
Then C, Cadd9, C7, F, Cdim
At least I'm like 90% sure that those are the names of those G chords.
@@SeekerGoldstone Can you just tab it all out for me?😃
Its the stum pattern that gets me!
