There are sometimes high winds in winter and spring and anything left out in your yard could end up being blown through your window. You will need a snow shovel and a snow blower. Not everyone has a snow blower, but they are useful if you have a long driveway. You will also need rock salt for your sidewalks and driveway if they are paved. You can get additional tips from the friends you've made in Ohio. I hope these ideas are helpful for your first winter in Ohio. The snow is beautiful and you can make snowmen with your kids. There's nothing like having hot cocoa or tea after being outside on a winter's day. : )

It's coming along nicely! I wanted to suggest that you start thinking about preparing for winter. Usually October is when people get ready for winter. You can talk to a mechanic about winterizing your car. Start assembling your winter wardrobe. Waterproof boots, coats and gloves are handy. Dressing in layers works best. You can also start buying winter bedding. I also do this in layers as well. Layers works because sometimes you can get too hot and need to remove a layer. Anyway, enjoy Fall. It's the prettiest time of year. Pick up some apple cider at the store. You can have it hot or cold. The weather usually starts to get really cold at the end of October and it's best to be ready for it ahead of time. There are apple orchards and churches that put on hay rides this time of year. Have a good weekend.

I'd like to add that you should keep at least a week or two worth of canned goods and bottled water for winter because there's a possibility of getting snowed in. People in the country tend to get snowed in longer than people who live in a town. Ohio usually has light to moderate snow, but the country can get deeper snow. Canned soups and crackers are a good choice to add. You should have supplies for a power outage too. Anyway, it's nice to be prepared. You can be spending the next couple of months gathering supplies for winter and enjoy the nice weather in Fall. : )
