I'm in Canada. Licensed grow ops here have been caught using banned fungicide and pesticides as well as growing too many plants. Outdoor grown is more likely to have been sprayed than indoor. Powdery mildew and aphids are a reason for the spraying. I use off the shelf sulphur powder in the early stages of gowth and Safers Defender in later stages only if needed. I wash my crop at harvest time. I can only imagine what large gro ops spray on their herb.

Grow laws are pretty lax in California. Regulation from the start is very loose. Some growers just have to go beyond the law. It really hurts the community as well as the local, counties as there's no taxes taken. With a growing demand with the rec stores opening, prices have sky rocketed at the retail end. Truly no compassion for the medical patient. In my county there are at least 140 mega growers. That's not counting the small mom and pop grows. I use to grow yet sold my farm due to high water prices. Pesticide on all the outdoor northern sounds like BS. Funny. I have farmer friends there and they don't have pesticides. Until the truth is spoken at both ends..nothing will be resolved.
Here in Colorado there is no such thing as a black market. The state actually allows storefronts to buy directly from the smaller farms. Totally eliminated the black market.

The Founders had no problem with cannabis. The REAL reason legalization was passed is not personal freedom in which NEITHER party believes sincerely (or their legislation would so demonstrate). Because cannabis is seen as a cash cow the prices are artificially inflated by taxes. Making weed illegal increases profits for the illegal economy but so does making it legal but overtaxed. This is difficult for graduates of US public schools to absorb so they don't elect politicians who understand that reality. Always follow the money. Here in MONTANA where it is legal the state licenses the dispensaries and the product goes through a laboratory where it is tested for THC content and purity and certified before being allowed on the market ! Any derivatives are likewise tested for quality assurance and yes it must meet the standards set by the state . I have not in the quarter of a century I've lived here seen any appreciable increase in crime but then that's not my job so ask an expert for that particular data as I'm sure it's available to the public .

Why would a licensed dispensary be selling us pesticide sprayed herb that’s so stupid for the consumer and how do you know? Wouldn’t it change the smell of the bud
I'm in Canada. Licensed grow ops here have been caught using banned fungicide and pesticides as well as growing too many plants. Outdoor grown is more likely to have been sprayed than indoor. Powdery mildew and aphids are a reason for the spraying. I use off the shelf sulphur powder in the early stages of gowth and Safers Defender in later stages only if needed. I wash my crop at harvest time. I can only imagine what large gro ops spray on their herb.

Grow laws are pretty lax in California. Regulation from the start is very loose. Some growers just have to go beyond the law. It really hurts the community as well as the local, counties as there's no taxes taken. With a growing demand with the rec stores opening, prices have sky rocketed at the retail end. Truly no compassion for the medical patient. In my county there are at least 140 mega growers. That's not counting the small mom and pop grows. I use to grow yet sold my farm due to high water prices. Pesticide on all the outdoor northern sounds like BS. Funny. I have farmer friends there and they don't have pesticides. Until the truth is spoken at both ends..nothing will be resolved.
Here in Colorado there is no such thing as a black market. The state actually allows storefronts to buy directly from the smaller farms. Totally eliminated the black market.

The Founders had no problem with cannabis. The REAL reason legalization was passed is not personal freedom in which NEITHER party believes sincerely (or their legislation would so demonstrate). Because cannabis is seen as a cash cow the prices are artificially inflated by taxes. Making weed illegal increases profits for the illegal economy but so does making it legal but overtaxed. This is difficult for graduates of US public schools to absorb so they don't elect politicians who understand that reality. Always follow the money.
Weed used to be as legal as the grass on our lawns and that was not a problem. The history of anti-hemp legislation has everything to do with money (like Hearsts timber holdings early last century) and nothing to do with protecting anyone.

Not when those taxes are reasonable. It only happens where states charge such high taxes that the legal product is three or four times as expensive.
Bootleg alcohol probably isn't even 1% of the market outside of areas like reservations where legal alcohol is not available.

Here in MONTANA where it is legal the state licenses the dispensaries and the product goes through a laboratory where it is tested for THC content and purity and certified before being allowed on the market ! Any derivatives are likewise tested for quality assurance and yes it must meet the standards set by the state . I have not in the quarter of a century I've lived here seen any appreciable increase in crime but then that's not my job so ask an expert for that particular data as I'm sure it's available to the public .
