PRINCIPLES OF STANCE

- I take a Principle based approach to most things I teach. I say it in almost every class, my goal is not to make you me, it's to help you find what works best for you. This is done by providing you with the core principles to focus on and copious amounts of meaningful exploration. Slowing layering micro refinements and corrections throughout the process.
This is just a small clip from class where we were talking about the principles of stance and how that can be modified or adapted to assist us in completing whatever our objective is.

In the actual gunfight, pretty much all thought goes out the window. Get rounds downrange at the threat fastest and, ideally, most accurately. Mitigate luck with training so much that your subconscious takes over and does what it knows. And yes, unfortunately luck has something to say.
This guy is just a "swat," operator from a local department. I mean good experience for sure, but how much combat time does he have...?
@@em34ev3rmaybe he’s also prior military?
@@tyaj694 it doesnt say in his bio that he was. He looks like it though
@@em34ev3rcombat time? When you are shooting at or being shot at by humans it’s real. Even a fudd that defended, with shooting, against home invasion has real experience. Probably more than 90% of Americans.
@@tyaj694Are you suggesting being prior mil means they’ve killed people in a gunfight ?
Great topic and demo, my first time seeing someone teach this technique
So many bros trying to make a name for themselves by re-inventing the wheel. I can smell the axe body spray from here.
You must not know anything about these guys.
What base plate extension does Paul have his mags?
Right
Good video. I prefer breaking down every aspect of gunfighting, practice it, become efficient and then weave it together for one fluid action. I like that your videos do that.
I noticed that when you explained the cross step, you cross stepped passed your stable foot about 10'-12', but when you went live, it passed the stable foot about 2". Not trying to be a stickler, but when i tried it, the 2" crossover felt more stable and natural. I mean, im not worried about tripping or anything. I know how to walk. Im just commenting that as far as firing on the move, the 2" crossover or "less pronounced " crossover allows for a more stable shot if i had to throw rounds down at that moment.
Thanks for posting. I have been interested and confident in your instruction & knowledge.
It's so obvious
Dis a gree.
most martial arts tell you this about crossing legs: do NOT do it! way too much chance to fall over obstacles. sorry, you lost me here, this seems wrong.
They tell that to beginners who most likely have no athletic background, once you know what your doing you begin to know what you can and cant do. They use to say dont cross your feet in football too and then sometimes you have too
Ouch, so how much tripped after trying this? 🤣 This won't work in a fight... That's why they created the crab shuffle decades ago. Do what you can to accurately engage the target... Train
😂😂😂😂👌🏼
So youre saying youre so unathletic and uncoordinated u cant cross
Your feet without tripping on yourself?
If you can’t cross your feet without tripping over self you shouldn’t be anywhere near a fight.
Just saw this channel. I’m guessing he’s a cop?
