The beauty of breaking techniques down to the finite details. The best teachers are always students first. Thank you, Achilles Heel, for raising the bar for what should be expected when paying a professional teacher. “A teacher is never a giver of truth; he is a guide, a pointer to the truth that each student must find for himself.” ― Bruce Lee
Some of us have such a hard time understanding how our bodies work in relation to the tools we use. Everything needs to be as simple and natural as possible. I've adopted so many techniques as gospel without ever criticizing them first.
Man you put a lot of rock solid knowledge out there. Travis Haley thinks he knows a lot, but you are proving techniques that work. I remember when Haley was on a "angles are weak, straight lines are strong" kick. That philosophy put out bad knowledge and people were locking their elbows out for pistol shooting. The Haley koolaid was bad enough that our instructors pushing it in the academy. Thankfully Drew Estelle fixed that BS. This info is definitely needed for understanding. Thanks for providing it!
I would say it is bad info but techniques that was used during that time and as community grew those techniques evolved. He prolly doesn’t teach the same way he did 11 years ago. I know when I joined the Marine Corps 14 years ago I watched a lot of his videos because it was different than what we were learning in the fleet. As time passed I learned new techniques and improved on my shooting.
Some things just came together for me watching your videos. It’s not only the information but also the presentation. Being able to teach is a real skill that not everyone has. Thank you!
Priceless Information from the expert! I learn a lot from your videos and the instagram subscription. Pls let the community know when you plan classes in Switzerland in the future.
When Rick is talking about leveraging using the three middle fingers and pushing the thumb forward, is he talking about the support hand or the firing hand?
First things first, you can't eliminate recoil anticipation. You can only reduce the effects of it. The right stance and grip can make a big difference.
I like true north concepts hand stop Edit: low profile so it allows for simpler barricade shooting and good reference point for your non-dominant hand to get to.
Not really. Proper grip will give you all the recoil control you need. A brake is just icing on the cake. A lot of shooters out there with brakes can’t manage recoil at all.
I learned a lot about grip and stance through your class. Definitely great learning points I was never taught before.
Glad to hear that man!!!

What do you think towards, putting your shooting foot (right foot) forward so as to not have that shoulder backwards aiding in recoil control?
You can adapt your stance anyway you would like.

The right stance and grip can make a big difference.
You like the Edgar Sherman better than the emissary??
Both are great!
That's impressive!
Thoughts on running some type of grip on the rail v slick? Needed/not needed? Barricade shooting might be a challenge no?
I like true north concepts hand stop

That’s actually my motto being an old BB, technique over strength, love it thank you
A puré golf lesson!
Does a suppressed. 223 have recoil to delete?

0:28 what in the fuck is that optic placement
I know right. 😅
What grip is that on your AR?
B5 systems in this video
Also helps having that huge brake on it,
Will work with or without as shown many times in other videos before. Suppressed or unsuppressed.

Pretty cool to see Kurt Russell taking part in tactical training! He's not even Amercian
K genius you cant delete recoil! Phrases like this are why bois think they can be girls
You’re so CUTE!
Nervous ego going on there.
Looks like good training. Maybe tone back the cursing a bit. Good training like this can also sound professional!
