Remember, this is the era before Autotune. All of these women could really _sing._
That's why so much of our music was leaps and bounds better than todays artists. You *had* to be able to sing. ... Except MiliVanilli. lol ... >_
@@toxicginger9936 I honestly feel bad for Milli Vanilli. Rob and Fab were just as much victims of Frank Farian's predatory practices as anyone. And the people who created the music were good singers and musicians, they just weren't considered 'aesthetically marketable' enough, which has always been a problem in music. The Milli Vanilli solution was the 90s version of Autotune. Now pretty people sing whatever they can and pitch correction and Autotune churns out a product that can be sold.
Real talk, a lot of those Milli Vanilli songs hold up, I think. I still think "Girl I'm Gonna Miss You" slaps.
Right
People could sing then .. it wasn't all about how they looked
Amazing times when this came out. Can't believe it's over 30 years old. This was their first song and it was huge. Clubs, radio, charts. It blew up everywhere. This was such a good time for music. Very diverse, groundbreaking and fresh. New Jack Swing / R&B was around, Hip hop, Dance, House music. All exciting new stuff. Massive tracks in 1990 were: Snap - The Power / Bell Biv Devoe - Poison / Deee Lite - Groove is in the heart / C&C Music Factory - Gonna make you sweat. Just ridiculous, thinking of it.
I feel you on this 1990 was my favourite year for music, along side 1986....all those tracks you mentioned were definitely among my faves!!
Hands up if you were waiting like me for Jay’s face when the beat dropped after the intro 👋🏼
This was En Vogue first single. Those black dresses are in the Smithsonian now. They were very popular back then. Those dresses they had on in "giving him something he can feel" are also in the Smithsonian
Yep, every girl wanted an “En Vogue dress”
@@annettep1396 Don’t I know it. I was working at Limited Express at the time their music came out and the dresses were called “move something” dresses. Yes, women of shapes and sizes came in wanting to try. 😂
NOW, JV. No more excuses. You have got to react to En Vogue performing "Giving Him Something He Can Feel". Gotta do it, my guy. You will not be sorry. 🙌🏼 Best women's group of the last *30* years, IMHO.
He’s GOTTA do it.
Love that song
If you listen to this one( Giving Him Something He Can Feel) then you also need to check out the earlier version by Aretha Franklin. I love EnVogue but for this song I'll always go to Aretha
YES!
Was just coming to recommend this!
There's the magic of En Vogue with Salt-N- Pepa singing Whatta Man
Yes!
That intro was the first thing most of us ever heard from EnVogue. This was the first video/single. We were in awe too. These girls could sang!!!!
"Who's Loving You" is actually a Smokey Robinson song. He wrote it and the Miracles recorded it. He said that the song is so identified with the J5 that when he sang it, people remarked on him singing their song.😄
Yes, now "Who's Loving You" is now the most popular audition Song on The X Factor in The UK. Entertainment Weekly called Them The Supremes Of The MTV Generation. They also in their own way kicked the door open for many Girlbands in the 1990's from SWV (Sisters With Voices) Xscape, and even The Original Destiny's Child and TLC were heavily influenced by them. They sold Millions of Records but they came out of it broke because of some bad business deals. When they were in the Top Ten another Girlband called Wilson Phillips were also in The Top Ten with their own Song co incidentally called "Hold On". They are the Daughters of Brian Wilson Of The Beach Boys and John Phillips (RIP) of The Mamas & Papas. Carnie Wilson (The Husky One) loved their music. Also if you can, check out some of the other Girlbands I mentioned as well as their Version of Giving Him Something He Can Feel.
Terence Trent Darby did a great version of this too
The Miracles, then The Supremes, then Brenda Holloway, then the Temptations, then the Jackson 5... the J5 version was really trying to imitate the Temptations version.
Next En Vogue should be "Giving Him Something He Can Feel"
Crucial song for every 90’s mixed tape. Full stop.
Yes😎
Facts
Maaan what??? Fun fact Snoop Dogg's first mix tape song was this sample. The Hip Hop world tore this sample UP!
Agreeeeeed
More times than not MTV and VH1 would cut the intro off, so it felt like a special occasion when it was shown. I love that part.
yeah I heated when they did that
Facts
After this video, every woman wanted a little black dress...aka an "En Vogue" dress!😂 They are so good!! I miss when we had actual singers...TALENT!! They were produced and put together by two guys Foster & McElroy.
I had 12 different ones!😂
Yes, what a freaking intro! Then after amazing harmonic vocals they break out a badass, thumping beat. And yeah, they're showing out!
Oh where did it all go😆😫
BEST female group of all time. 4 Lead singers! Other classics with the original 4 include Lies, Runaway Love, Don't Go, and Give It up Turn It Loose
Have you seen "Givin him something he can feel" Thanks another BANGER!💜
Still remember En Vogue and Take six singing a cappella together at the Grammys in early 90s and it was amazing
I love how you said no matter who steps to the plate you know they are gonna deliver
I wish that they had done the entirety of "Who's Loving You" acapella, TBH. My favorite cover of that song was done by Terrance Trent D'Arby. He really killed it.
Each one has a unique, beautiful voice. Best group of the 90s for sure! ❤
Check out "Don't Walk Away" by Jade. Similar vibe, timeframe, girl group. The early 90s had that heavy New Jack Swing beat everywhere!
Terry did that on the acapella intro! See they're all amazing vocalists. The last song you reacted to had more of Maxine and Dawn having lead vocals, here it's Terry and Cindy.
Their debut song that started out a great career .. also check out: "Give Him Something He Can Feel" a cover of the Aretha Franklin Classic from the 70's movie "Sparkle" ..and the music video was a tribute of a great Scene from the movie .
there aint no more smooth girl groups like this anymore
No more smooth groups period.
@@cflournoy1529 ikr!!! Wassup with that?
Yes there is. The mainstream music/media industry isn't the place to find them anymore. It’s not EASY to find them anymore, they don’t find YOU anymore. But they’re there, trying to be discovered independently. Search.
Each girl was an equally talented singer: they took turns.
with class & dressed!!! no sir ree....
They use to mix this with LL’s “Boomin System “ in the clubs
“The cars drive by with the booming system”….Good memories
I think the original Boomin System was changed because it was too similar. Both versions are great.
there's an official "hip hop Remix" that contains LL Cool J's vocals saying "You know it's funky, funky, funky"
Yes the song was big enough in dance clubs to reach number one on Billboards' Dance Club Play chart in 1990
This is such a vibe! I always loved their intro and the beat of the song itself, sweet.
Some R&B - Carl Thomas "I Wish", Maxwell "Ascension", Musiq "Half Crazy", Soul For Real "Candy Rain", Anything Brian McKnight...I have way too many lol
💯
Gotta love how you're surprised every time you do an En Vogue song. Lol. Gotta do their last 2 big hits. Giving Him Something He Can Feel, and Whatta Man with Salt N Pepa.
Don't Let Go (Love) and Whatever were really their last big hits.
Let’s not forget “ whose loving you “ is actually Smokey Robinson not the great Jackson 5 but no worries ! Also you must do envogue “give him something he can feel “ you should also try out SWV if you haven’t already.
I love "Whatever" by En Vogue. It hasn't aged at all. The video is a work of art.
I still think you should listen to one of the best girl group collaborations, ever. Salt N' Pepa, with En Vogue, doing the song, "Whatta Man."
Next is Giving Him Something you Can Feel.❤️❤️❤️😎😎😎
Music Excellent and beauty ❤️ these ladies set the bar very high and I love them💖💖💖
en vogue - giving him something he can feel
I had the pleasure of seeing En Vogue live as they sung the star spangled banner a cappella at a Lakers game. They were amazing.
En Vogue baby!! Still doing their thing performing.Sound great beautiful as ever.
Please react to 'Giving Him Something He Can Feel' by En Vogue
En vogue has a collab with salt n peppa called whatta man. You should check it out it’s nice
One of the best intros ever! Another great En Vohue song that is often forgotten is "Just Can't Stay Away". I'm not sure if there's an actual video but the vocal performance is 🔥🔥🔥
Love the uniqueness of their voices.
Childhood memories for me with this one.
Love this song! One of those "best songs ever"
Same time, same type of vibe: The Family Stand - Ghetto Heaven
Another great song.
This was how they were introduced to the world. They came out hard! and I loved them back then, still do but I wish they would settle their differences and Dawn and Maxine come back and they at least do one last concert tour.
I told you the intro was🔥🔥🔥🔥. They just completely draw you in with their vocals and then the beat drops.
I remember practicing the dance with my friends after school in JH. Lol!
Still love this song! 😁 I remember when this was popular we went to Six Flags here in California and there was a group of girls singing it in line for Colossus. Intro and all. Very nostalgic 😁
I remember when this came out. Loved the song!
What a throwback!
Not my favorite kind of music, but they do it so well; gotta give respect.
Ok, I hit thumbs up before I watched the reaction! 🙌🏾🙌🏾This video introduced us to the phenom En Vogue! Yes Sir! The acapella intro, BADASS!! FOUR LEAD SINGERS!!! AMAZING!! Enjoyed your reaction. Take care.🙂
Been waiting for you to discover this one. Knew you'd love it!!! ❤❤❤
Yeah En Vogue is sexy and classy. Their song “Give it up, Turn It Loose” is groovy too!
That was way before the louzy autotune...They could pull off everything ❤
these ladies had the 90s by the balls. one of the best female groups ever.
"Give it up, turn it loose" is in my opinion a very underrated song of theirs. They have a ton of great songs. I don't really ask for songs from you. But I really think you will enjoy this one.
This was their first hit and a staple in the clubs, radio and videos. On Saturdays you couldn't have gotten tru a morning without hearing this song at least 20-30 times. You should check out their other hits like
"Don't Go"
Lies
Giving him something he can feel
Please react 🙏 to Part of me if you really hear their vocal skills you won't regret it.
This put them on the map, their first hit. My girls !!
This song was on the top of the charts. In my city they had it in heavy rotation on the radio stations, clubs and bars. Hell,You heard it bumping in cars on the streets. Lol It was the jam!
Two other amazing songs of theirs with amazing vocals "Giving Him Something He Can Feel", and "Don't Go".
My best friend in elementary school introduced me to this song and music video (Video MusicBox on TV after school!). Loved En Vogue ever since.
Awesome tune by this amazing group just brilliant
Man I have heard this song in years ❤️ 😊
SWV - Right Here... same same... You are gonna love it
1:37 Yelp I knew one of J's famous "hold up"s was about to cone out..:) hehe. J if you pop this song in your car, and turn it up, it will turn heads in the street. Lol it's that good.
Great production on this beat. Always loved it. Then the vocals from a group of women that could properly sing!
That intro is 🔥Thanks for another great video!🙂
My favourite of theirs, perfection.
Yay ,!!! I have been waiting for you to react to this song for ages , my favourite en vogue song . Amazing vocalists
So many good girl groups from this time - Jade, SWV, Zhane, TLC, Mel & Kim
They are in a league of their own!
killer track..this was my introduction to them..the ladies were super fine and had pipes for days.they didn't miss
Certified jam! ALL of these ladies have the vocals 🥰 ...check out a live performance of this song too 👍🏾
Edited: I don't know the male equivalent (😂), but shout out to video vixen/model turned actor Djimon Hounsou 😉
The hardest beat drop of the 90s! 🔥
YES!!! I've been waiting for you to get to this song!
I believe this was their debut! So they had to display what they could do!!!
They have the best harmonies, no lead singer. The most compete group made up of powerful female singers. They all take turns in the spotlight. React to:
1. Giving Him Something He Can Feel
2. Give it up turn it lose
3. Too Gone, Too Long
4. Whatever
5. Runaway Love
Love En Vogue. Can you react to - Giving Him something He can feel, it's a remake of Aretha Franklin's song.
If you haven’t already, PLEASE review their song ‘Don’t Let Go’, it’s…wow. Thanks for another great reaction!
En Vogue always burned up the clubs, no doubt. I also recommend Giving Him Something He Can Feel, you will lose your mind.
Love this group!
This song hits EVERYTIME!!
103.5 Soul Classic does 1990's music from 12:00/1:00. Try reacting to Jade. Don't Walk Away.
Yay!!! You did it 😍
I know you will love this without even watching it first! 😁
En. Vogue beautiful people. I met them many times.
your channel gives me constant flashbacks :) I spend hours and hours in front of the TV watching those music videos back in the day
This was there introduction to the world. Let you know whats coming!
The ladies sing like angels
Stone roses. I wanna be adored. The intro is one of the greatest of all time. Between that and fascination street by the cure (full version )
You got me thinking now... The best intro of all time????
great reaction. try their song, Giving Him Something He Can Feel
Another great reaction to another great song/group. You know we-your community of music lovers gonna recommend the best songs😄
Time for 'Don't let go (Love)'. Another excellent En Vogue track
He already reacted to that one.
Best female group ❤️
Give it up turn it loose as too be the next en vogue song .
SWV 'Right Here' is definitely one to check out. It samples 'Human Nature' by Michael Jackson
Jay please check out the Stone roses - I wanna be adored. The into is probably one of the greatest guitar riffs of all time
The Stone Roses were way ahead of the curve with their sounds. "Love Spreads" was another track with a great chorus.
In New Zealand back then, this was always on the radio. I wasn’t old enough to go clubbing yet lol!
En Vogue is one of the best women Group’s 🔥🔥
"Free Your Mind" is my favorite from them!
I WAS 15 OR 16 AT THE TIME THIS CAME OUT. TO THIS DAY I STILL HAVE NOT MADE TO THE END OF THE VIDEO. I'VE SEEN THEM LATELY AND THEY CAN STILL GET IT! LOL!
Brings me back!!!!
