I really want them to clean up and moderate the Nintendo E-Shop. It's a mess.
Backwards compatibility is my number 1 priority. Apart from that, just want more of the same with increased performance ie. 1440p 60fps docked, 720/1080p 60fps handheld. Keeping the OLED screen would be lovely too.
Me too, I have spent so much money on the switch that it would bother me if it’s not compatible
If it's not backwards compatible, I'm getting a Steam Deck and just emulating everything going forward. It's a dealbreaker
That was part of the reason I bought a Steam Deck instead of a Switch. No backwards compatibility like with the DS and Gameboy, and the DS online store apparently isn't linked to the Switch store, so you need to buy your online games twice.
@@HummingLantern27Correct, if I loose all my games I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on I’m going to be pissed. That’s what I’m dearly afraid of or if they discontinue the E-shop etc. forcing you to buy the Switch 2
I thought that’s what happened with the 3DS and Wii U
It amazes me they never bothered adding themes to the switch. Could have done so much with it!
We need trophies/achievements! Getting a trophy on PS5 is such a satisfying feeling for me plus it's a great incentive to come back to the game and collect the trophies you missed.
Personally, I really hope that whatever they do, they keep the controllers detachable. Due to health issues, I play exclusively with the Switch on a stand, in portrait orientation, while lying on my side. The separate controllers allow me to keep my arms in a comfortable position, without necessitating my hands to be near each other. It could be due to me having small hands, but I personally find the joy-cons more comfortable to hold than, for instance, a PS4 controller. I do always attach the wrist straps to the joy-cons, cause I find that really helps with holding them comfortably for a longer period of time.
Honestly, I think the joy cons as a concept are one of the greatest and imho underappreciated ideas Nintendo had. It's like a beautiful progression from the Wiimote. Of course it sucks that joy con drift is so prevalent, but the fact that we can just get and attach different controllers that fit our needs better, without having to either tinker around with the console or getting a new console is absolutely fantastic. And it's wonderful, as you say, to get to play comfortably cause you can position your arms however you want ☺️
I agree with Street Pass 100 %, this was one of my fav features with the 3ds. I also agree we need backwards compatibility and MORE POWER.
Personally want Nintendo to wise up and bring in game achievements in line with every other platform, at least for non-nintendo games

I think we def need an improved eshop and improved internet connection. I’m tired of having to go downstairs and stand next to my router to connect my switch to the internet lol 😂
I feel like I am the only one who actually finds playing with the joycons in handheld perfectly comfortable. I rarely play docked but when I do I miss the way it feels to play handheld. I have tried out like 3 brands of grips thanks to family/friends and they have all hurt to play for me. So I guess I hope if they do change it there are maybe size options in joycons/attachments so everyone is happy. But I 100% agree on SP and the homescreen.
I have a Nitro Deck for my Switch that I love. Kind of gives it a smaller Steam Deck feel

I really hope that the switch 2 won't be too heavy. I have major problems with my spine, which affects my hands. I bought a product you recommended and it has changed my life!! Thank you so much.
Maybe it would be easier on your spine to detach the joy-cons and put the Switch on a stand whenever you're playing at home?
@-Marieke- That is where Iona's recommendation comes into play. It is a flexible stand that can be attached to my bed (or table) to hold the screen.That way, I can simply hold the joy cons. Thank you for your proposition!!

Please PLEASE let us play "old" switch games on it!! 😭 I'm not ready to part ways with my 140 games just yet, i haven't even finished or even started most of them!! All the amazing games are already on it like botw & totk, acnh and so on so it feels like it would be such a waste to not be able to play old games on it.
I loved street pass! I worked at Disney, so I would get people from all over the world visiting my 3ds every day. It was great!
6:35 i def hear you with this, but playing smash with just 2 mini controllers on the small screen is extremely fun, everyone needs to try it at least once!
I definitely 100% want backwards compatibility including the cartridges not just digital games, more powerful of course but I really do want 1080p in handheld and 4k minimum docked for me is a definite wish as when im playing on my ps5 and xbox when I'm not playing my switch I cant help keep thinking and imaging nintendo making a handheld that can do and look just as amazing as a ps5 and xbox series x but in your hands. Imagine zelda for example omg that in 4k would be just stunning. Let's face it nintendo now has other handhelds it will be in competition with so they got to do something to knock it out of the park and make it different. VR would be cool but to me it's a gimmic that would be no good for my eyes not to fussed about that. Also I miss themes so bad I loved them on my 3ds I could change it to my favourite franchises it should have been on the nintendo switch not just the icons. We had to pay for them on 3ds and they were never expensive but was so worth it rather than looking at a plain black or white screen. What ever they release it has to be alot better no flimsy joycons we need strong sturdy that will last not be sent in for repairs constantly. Like you I barely use my joycon only for certain games like wii sports for example I mainly use a pro controller with my Fixture gaming S2 or add the neo grip so its easier to hold without dropping it on the floor. Thank goodness for screen protectors that's all I'm gonna say 😂. Another great video iona

My problem with the dock is that if it’s the same dock as the original Oled, I don’t wanna buy the whole thing again. I have a dock for my original switch and for my Oled which is still in the box. I want the ability to buy the console without a dock if they are identical to ones before x😊
I really need them to announce the Switch 2 because I have the older Switch and I have been waiting to buy an OLED in case they release the new one this year. also your eye makeup is BEAUTIFUL!

I know this is off topic, but I please do a video on if the steam deck Oled is worth it if you are pretty strictly a “cozy-gamer” and you already have a the switch Oled. Is there really a difference in game availability between the steam store and the Nintendo store? I’m craving a steamdeck Oled, but I’m wondering if it makes sense to get considering it’s high price tag 😅

Microphone would be awesome. I broke my joycons within like a month of purchasing. Instead of returning them to Nintendo I just bought controllers instead. I want to buy s cute pair of joycons though for games where it's better to have them.

I'd love an Oled screen as I haven't gotten to experience that yet bc i never upgraded to the Oled model as I felt like i'd rather wait for the next nintendo console LOL
The joycons definitely need some help and work and I truly hope they actually do something about that.... eeek.
I'd love the new nintendo console to have themes on the home screen, and id love the e-shop to have reviews in it or some kind of rating system for the games (even something like thumbs up or thumbs down like netflix does).
I have a set of hori joycons, they are the ones shaped more like a controller and they don't have the accelerometers and don't work unplugged but I love them so much more
I miss streetpass as well!! I also think we should be able to completely customize our games! Like alphabetically, genre and then within the grouping however you want to arrange them. And I agree, I should be able to customize my "desktop " colors, how many games I want to show etc.
Backwards compatibility is a must, I will be very disappointed if I wont be able to play the switch games I already own on the switch 2. Awesome video!
really enjoyed this video! Nintendo in the past has definitely been known to force innovation over anything else, but I do wonder if the significant changes in key personnel within the company since the switch's conception will make a difference. Although I think part of it is also that Nintendo just like being in their own little market without directly competing with other companies too much, so if they think their concept is being picked up by other companies and doing well, this would maybe push them to move onto something else.
Also I will respectfully give a hard pass on the re-introduction of the microphone haha
I think they’ve gone full portable and not so much hybrid with the steam deck and Lenovo. So maybe this will force them to lean harder onto the dock adding more?

About the drift: I haven't sent my joycons for the repairment because there's a note that it would cost a lot. But I thought it's for free. One podcaster told people to just send the controllers to them and that this note is not real.
So to out it simply: can you still just send your controllers and they fix them for free?

Themes were one of the best feature for the 3ds so i really hope they'll bring it back for the Switch. I personally like the 3D feature but i can completely understand some people find it as a useless gimmick.
I was really disappointed when I learned that the dock is mostly hallow and does not hold anything to give more graphics power to the Switch for the bigger tv screen.
Feeling might do a switch Ds version that be cool

I'm lowkey dreading a new switch coming out because I just bought mine two years ago. It personally took me so long to save the money up for it. Not ready to go through that again. Sorry, suppose this might be what people would call a "hot take"?
Want them to make the E shop easy to find new games or games not in the high ranks
tbh the only wish I got this year for the switch is that they make it possible to play Zelda Twilight princess on the switch -- it is my favourtie game and I just want to play it again my grandma of a wii console doesn't work anymore 😭 it doesn't need to be a remaster or rework or anything fancy, they could just add the gamecube version as a port and I'd be more than happy ajkhnfkanf pwetty plz nintendo! Street Pass return, and of course backwards compatability are definitely my top hopes. Really realllyyyy hope if they do anything VR, it's an add-on accessory of some sort. My motion sickness just cannot heh

I've seen a lot of rumours and fan made mock ups of a DS style but, I really don't want that either myself. I feel like this would end up very top heavy, which would completely defeat the purpose for me, as it'll bother my wrists too much so might as well just get everything cheaper on my Steam Deck then lol
I don't want AR cameras (a notch in the screen). I want analogue triggers (racing games), preferably with hapticks.
I love my neon yellow joy cons but they drift so I use my zelda ones instead

A lot of drift is caused by dirty contacts. TronicsFix on RUclips has really helpful videos on how to clean them 😄

From what I read a long time sgo there is not gonna be a oled screen but original lcd screen and it's gonna be more powerful but still not as much as is expected by today standards but atleast 10x better then the current switch. I wish I could link the article but it was months since I read it and I just stumbled over it. Hope that's false I feel it needs both a better quality screen and a bigger screen and they NEED to make it truly powerful. I'm sick of them making crappy games because the switch can't powder the games otherwise
I honestly don't need the Switch 2 to be a hybrid console. I'd rather them release one handheld version and one exklusively docked one with better specs.

In all seriousness though would love to see StreetPass or something similar for Switch 2 as well. It’s such an underrated feature of the 3DS and with more people having Switches and its portability it would definitely fit. Still take my 3DS everywhere in the hopes of getting at least one StreetPass.

Highly disagree on the controls point. The reason I went with the switch over the deck even tho it's been so long was the controllers! Playing with family and friends on the switch is just a uniquely fun experience, and I don't have 4 to 8 extra full controllers to hand out, and with it being £70 each nope thx.

60 FPS for every game is asking entirely too much. This thing is likely going to be as powerful as an Xbox One X. The PS5 and Xbox Series X don't even have it in every game.
I would like to see back grip buttons, a 1080p minimum target in handheld mode (assuming they go for the same form factor), more power when docked, and an overhauled eShop. Otherwise, you reiterated many ideas I've had.

I hate the fact that it’s portable 😢 every time I hold mine to play handheld (I can’t help the way I grip it) my joy cons kind of get pushed backwards? And then I constantly have to “reattach”. Also if they have a microphone I want a Hey You Pikachu 2 😂😂

A better eshop, please. The current one is terrible slow, with a terrible user interface / user experiência, and it lacks a lot of quality of life features.
We all know that Nintendo will NOT listen to any of this especially in terms of just power and thumb sticks. Plus I don't see them improving online gaming! I'm sorry to just be speaking the truth. But we all know Nintendo is notorious for not listening at all to its customers' feedback, criticisms, and problems about their hardware, games, and online. Plus I unfortunately have a super strong feeling their next console will still be quite underpowered with insanely laggy online gaming
I mean the switch was underpowered compared to current gen and it sold way better than either of those. I just care that it’s more powerful not most powerful
