My son is 5/15 now. I just got back from seeing him for his family day weekend. It's pretty cool seeing the same DS's and the barracks etc... I was just there. It was so nice to see him, and can't wait til he graduates. You guys are great!! And from a Cav Scout Mom...IF YOU AIN'T CAV...
Watching this is just so meaningful and I can tell you it never goes away. I graduated basic training at fort Knox August 1977. And in some ways it seems like yesterday but my body tells me different. I would like to get back there one last time. If it's meant to be I will. I remember my drill sergeants I graduation saying we were now soldiers. Up until that day we were trainees. They said we were now part of an army family and would always be. And that is true always! A reception station barracks were Old world war II barracks. Our BCT barracks where I guess you would say right across the street from Calvary chapel. Guessing all that is still there. Agony and misery and heartbreak ! More PT Drill Sergeant More PT the more we get the more we want!
NO WAY!! Those pickle suites were the worse! I'm out now but I'd love to wear those green and pinks I hope the army stops playing with uniforms and leaves those ones for a while
This was my osut unite I was in the second rank of this formation second platoon and if you think you don't do push-ups in asu's or class a's your wrong. I remember this day damn I've grown!!
C trp 5/15. I remember seeing this and thought fuck I wish I was them right now. Think I was 6 or 7 weeks in. It’s been a while not sure of the timeline. I do remember seeing this.
Ayyy I was in this platoon as well. I was a squad leader most of the time but broke my ankle in training and (long story short) ended up getting med boarded but I remember my brothers and think of ya often. C troop 5-15. DS Doane was the man!
@1kayleighross "i didnt exactly expect them to get down on the ground and do push-ups" yea...it's supposed to be kind of an unspoken rule that they don't smoke you in Class A's but with more and more videos, I see they no longer care, they did when I was in though, hell, I smoked myself at graduation for calling a Sir a DS, I got down and they told me to get right back up...lol...funny when I think about it now
it made me cry seeing this i just retired from the army 19D30 cav scout all my military career and love every min, of it like the drill said if u aint cav then u aint SHIT
Damn this brings back memories!! I’m in the second to back row on the left of the video..lol so long ago now!! I remember this day vividly!!! 96F outside so why not bang out 40 pushups real quick!! But what SFC P said got me hyped as hell because he barely talked to us lol
Want to be a Scout now you have to go to Benning. It’s a cake walk compared to Knox depending on your troop. Alcatraz Alpha & Comanche Troop don’t play games what so ever. Easy Echo are just students in high school doing the split option.
@Cornholio7575 It took about 30 minutes for the whole "ceremony". Not much to it really. The platoons come out and each soldier states rank, name, and where they're from. Then a couple of videos of what they did during training. Oh, and also some outstanding soldiers get awards. That's about it. This was my ex-husband's graduation here.
@cavscout163rd Dam I remember being there back in 1971. They still look the same. A group of us have been meaning to go back and visit but just never could get us all together to do it. It is tough enough for us to get to the Wall every August.
19D is cool if your gung ho. Probably next closes thing to a ranger. The only problem is the bullshit but thats everywhere in the Army I guess. If you kids thinking of going cav should start running 4-8 miles a day thats what cav do. Prepare to run your ass off your whole army career. The field is pretty chill other than that its ok. Spur rides get old boring.
ok seriously roll call to Echo troop. it's Noback who is in contact with anyone from this platoon. miss you guys does anyone know where McDermott is at? or anyone from this dam Platoon?
Wow! I remember this! This was my husband's graduation! PFC Workman on the far right of the screen...Wow, he was so skinny!Weird to stumble on this video...
Hot Damn, thats a damn fine fighting spirit! Wish I could have gotten a Cavalry slot, but nope, I'm just rocking that Combat Engineer job, least its Combat Arms
@deguimerautube actually, that's me. i wasn't talking shit about my own cavalry scout, i was just saying "what the hell" and "Jesus Christ" because i didnt exactly expect them to get down on the ground and do push-ups. i'd never been around a bunch of military men before like that, it was a new experiece for me.
I was in the Army in 1973 and went to Armor school at Fort Knox before going oversea's . And to tell you the truth , we never ( ever ) did push up's with our class A's on like they did in this video . I think its lame how the Army has become to do that . I'v seen this done in another video some month back so i guess its become common practice .
pajado75 Yes it is stupid Shit Drill Seargents do in today's Military , Class A uniforms are not for Push Ups. Military Training for todays Armed Forces really don't need Drill Sergeants anymore. They are becoming pointless icons.
Are these the barracks up in what we used to call Disney Land?
Graduated in 2010. This brings back some memories haha..
I ship the 16 aswell outta the boston meps... Fort Knox here i come!

He doesn't have your number...He said send your number and he'll give you a call!
This was my group back in 09 at fort knox. This training kicked our ass, but we loved every second of it. Wouldn’t change it for the world.
STFU nasty girl, we watched your split ope ass graduation, can't even do pushups together
@@stevencrow5462 ok cool guy
