I worked for a couple FedEx contractors. The first I mainly did night line haul. Second one, I did daytime spot runs, a $250 flat rate per day, plus an additional $25 for each spot I do after 12 stops, I believe. One other con is that it's easy to get fired. You make one mistake, you're pretty much history with the contractor, but FedEx will allow you to go to another contractor.
Yeah I mean Trucking in general has little room for error. But you’re so right, the job security is all hanging on one persons decisions. They could pull out of fedex or sell the business at any given time. The work life balance is harsh to say the least. Thats not good at all, 12 stops is a lot. Fedex leaves little room for contractors to make any money let alone the employees under them. I hope you are with a better company now brother.
Another HUGE con is working on every single major holiday. No money is worth missing memorable time with family.
What if you have no family

Do they make you do a driving test in orientation ?
@@JoJo-do6jt hey so it depends on the contractor, yes mine did and I believe the contractors are required to.
