The Benjamin Franklin is by far my favorite bridge into and out of the city. It offers the best views and dumps you right into downtown Philly when entering PA.
Glassboro, NJ is my hometown. (I'm in Gastonia, NC now)They never got that cross-Gloucester County highway.. . I have many memories of crossing all of those bridges. But some of my favorites were when they would have fireworks from the now long gone Campbell's Field Baseball stadium in Camden. Walking across when they shot off the fireworks after a game on Friday nights.
Some items you did not mention about the Takony - Palmyra bridge. It is the only bridge named for the towns it links, Palmyra NJ and Takony (really a neighborhood section of Philadelphia). Also It is the only bridge between Philadelphia and New Jersey. that opens for ships on the Delaware river as it is the lowest bridge of them all. Did you know the toll used to be 5 cents to cross.a long time ago ? Another crossing is the Burlington-Bristol bridge to the north, also opens and closes for ships.
When I was a tow truck driver back home we used to call 76 the Short Kill Expressway. Whether it was your schedule or God Forbid your life it’s always a mess, especially during a nor’easter west of the Belmont Ave Exit!!
Those bridges you drove are the only bridges that connect the Philadelphia metropolitan division with the Camden, NJ metropolitan division of the Delaware Valley.
@@MileageMikeTravels you need to head about 15 miles north of Philly to get to the Burlington-Bristol bridge. It connects the towns of Bristol PA and Burlington NJ; not exactly tourist destinations.
I have an idea come out to California and do a video on the bridges of the San Francisco bay area including the one and only Golden Gate... Just a thought. 🤔
@@jbgroup1, they are the Lower Trenton Bridge and the Delaware River Bridge, but they could get congested. There's US 1/Trenton Morrisville Toll Bridge that only have a toll for southbound if you want to skip congestion.
The toll structure remains the same further up the Delaware. I-295 and Rte 202 bridges are the same way. No charge to go to Jersey, but pay the other way. Why? This really makes no sense.
@@MileageMikeTravels you said Camden - which is correct. You missed the mark with Gloucester which is pronounced Glawster. There are so towns with so many names of english and native american origin you're bound to mispronounce a few - especially if you are not from the area.

Chester my hometown I live right near the commodore Barry bridge
Isn’t that in i-78 too?
Forgot to mention that the Tacony-Palmyra is the only one of these bridges that opens up to allow ships to pass by.
Why re-uploaded?
Had to make a minor change.

5 cents? That sounds like a fairytale in modern times with the toll prices I've seen these days, that's amazing.
It's Tacony, not Takony.

I think I've only been on the Ben Franklin, but I've been on the Delaware Memorial Bridge further south also.
You also missed the Burlington-Bristol, the Turnpike Toll Bridge, and the crossings in Trenton.
They're not in Philly.

I crossed the Benjamin Franklin bridge on my way to the flagship Spirit Halloween store
I have driven across all of the bridges
Notice that all bridges across the Delaware River that link New Jersey have a toll for leaving New Jersey.
All but two.
It appears that you always have to pay to leave New Jersey.
@@MileageMikeTravels, only if you cross the Delaware River or any body of water with New York City on the other side.
Two bridges form Trenton to Morrisville do not have tolls.

Yes Not New Jersey or Delaware! The PHILADELPHIA PENNSYLVANIA cities/Towns
