If my understanding of Minecraft is correct, making a mob farm is gonna be a challenge. Easy level ups means exponentially more area for the mobs to spawn in, which mean exponentially more torches to keep the farm efficient

I'm doing something similar, but more multiplayer-friendly. each minecraft-day at noon, the worldborder expands by 2 (so 1 block in each direction). Though I'm doing this in a private modpack I'm making with a custom datapack and then loading that datapack with Paxi so I don't have to add it to each world manually. Though I must say having Alex's mobs can make the early game quite hard with small worldborders, considering they have a miniboss (think warden-level difficulty, but not blind) that spawns near the worldborder (the farseer) xD
I was just staring at that rotten flesh in your inventory the whole time you were saying you needed food. Also, watching you use whole logs as fuel was just painful.
@@TItAn03333 Yes I know, I've watched it live back then! Doesn't mean that it can't be done with a different goal though. You could still beat the game technically. The max integer value for xp level is like 238,609,312. It would be a grind, but it could be done with making a massive amount of xp farms xD
Another way to do this would be like: "Border=(level)^2" (No idea if that was notated correctly, lol) So like level 5 would make the border 5x5=25 blocks, level 10 would be 100, and level 30 would be 900, so reaching the stronghold would be very doable. Maybe the challenge is less fun though.
you can basically beat this game by leveling yourself up to level 1200 and searching for a stronghold then getting full gear and starting to work on full god particle farm which would get you to max level within few days of afking
The main problems I saw at the start is the torch and you don’t need water to grow stuff as well as you had rotten flesh when you got really low could’ve eaten that
An interesting addition to the mod would be allowing ender pearls to move the center of your world border which would make it feasible to get to The End while still kinda fitting within the spirit of the game?
Cool video, but if you do anything with the world border like this again, maybe consider using an unobtrusive world border resource pack. I found it quite hard to watch at the start, and I don't even have epilepsy. I think Vanilla Tweaks has a good one.
This is great! so far the only tip i have, is smelt things with planks, not wood ( 1 plank does 1.5 items, so this is in general, more rescource efficient.)
If you change to every level boarder increases by 10%(rouded up) eg. lvl 0 -> size 1, 1-> 2, 2-> 3, ... 9 -> 10 10-> 11 11->13 then by level 100 you will have boarder size of more than 10k and you would be able to beat game (about 1.1^100 and it is ~13500)

This was very nice! I'd like to see more of this... In theory, the limited worldsize makes for ideal mob-spawning conditions if you wanted to really push things out with a grinder and see if a fortress is remotely possible. Plus, that'd be a good source of rescue xp if you ever *did* die, so long as the spawner had an output pipe coming down in your initial 2x2 and had at least *some* spawning spots in the same.
Awesome video idea. wo tips: You can plant/grow wheat with no water source Lava can be used to smelt 100 items, so you could get the experience of smelting 2.5 stacks of items per bucket
Loving this series, I can’t wait to see as you climb into higher levels. I’m looking forward to when you manage to find a good Xp source and your world opens exponentially!
i can see one mistake no one has pointed out so far as i'm aware of, using logs to smelt. logs and planks smelt the same amount of items, and as there are 4 planks per log, using planks to smelt is 4 times more efficient than using logs. but apart from that one little thing, great video!

ladders for a safe way up and down and to save hunger also wall them in to make sure you don't fall off and have safe walled in pocket rooms at the levels where you'd want to stop at so when you get off the ladder you wont have to worry about mobs attacking you, building a house at the top would also be wise to keep you safe from above ground mobs, you wouldn't want to find creepers climbing down your ladder because you forgot to go back up and place torches after gaining a few new levels
I much prefer a smaller Minecraft channel like this to some of the bigger ones where everything is polished and scripted to look nice. This is a much more natural feeling gameplay and commentary. Keep it up!
a way this idea could be expanded to make beating the game possible is to pay the world border with xp. this way its still a grind but not as extreme as it is now. also no lost border progression on death
There is a german RUclipsr called BastiGHG who did beat the enderdragon with this concept... So if you want to watch someone else try this search up "basti lvl = border"
You should set up an XP storage area at the origin so you can bounce back if you die. I recommend replacing some of the blocks of the spiral staircase with furnaces, filling them with logs and whatever fuel you want to use, since you now have enough wood to burn, and leaving them there. The XP will remain in the furnace until you pull a cooked or smelted item out of it. You could make this more efficient in some ways by setting up an auto-smelter. You can make a pretty basic one with just one furnace and three hoppers, one above and one below, using chests for extra storage, plus one hopper and optional chest feeding into the back. Put logs (or whatever you want to cook/smelt into the top chest/hopper and fuel into the back one; the cooked items will come out the bottom _(because video game)_ but crucially *ALL the XP will remain in the furnace until you manually pull out an item,* so let the contraption cook until it gets backed up and whenever you need it, BAM instant levels. Even if there's some jank involving double chests or hoppers being partially outside the world border, you can fit this all in a 2x2 footprint if you're careful, so assuming the world border shrinks to the same place every time it's a done deal. Of course the ideal is to just have a bunch of Bottles o' Enchanting in a chest you can reach, but the furnace thing is something you could do right now.
You have enough space to build a mob grinder. Also if doing again should consider moving your storage to the space of the original perimeter in case you die so it's not outside your reach
Tip: Logs are as effective as planks as fuel, both lasting 1.5 items, so you can use planks instead of logs in a furnace to cut down on wood demand. Otherwise, great video! Very easy to watch.
I really like this concept but it's really hard en the eyes to watch. Maybe you can find a way to move the border half a block out or maybe a texture pack to make it invisible/almost invisible. ❤
You can use planks instead of logs to cook things in the furnace, giving you 4 times the amount of cooking power. 4 planks will cook 6 items opposed to 1 log cooking 1.5 items.
I really enjoyed this!! I’d love to see more! I’ll try and think of some of my best tips/life hacks with the game in this scenario… You can get infinite lava, but you need a cauldron and a pointed drip stone. So… probably no luck there. You can use boats to capture mobs. Maybe you can hold crops in your hand and stand by the boarder to lure cattle into the boarder. I’m pretty sure anything can enter but nothing can exit, tho, I could be wrong. Your best chance might be making a darkroom mob spawner and trying to kill witches for special drops. A witch also has a chance of throwing a weakness potion, which you could potentially eventually use to heal a zombie villager. Man, this is a tough world. I’ve been playing for over 10 years and I know a ton of mechanics- but I’m drawing a blank on how to really help. Just keep pressing on. You’re off to a fantastic start!
PLEASE keep a chest with important things at spawn so that if you ever die you'll restart with something (water bucket, saplings, seeds, food, tools, coal blocks/a couple of named animals/something else that could give you xp if you ever make it that far)
binge watching seans videos and coming across multiple comments about rob being in jail caused the most massive confusion in me. and seeing how i really like robert's voice, I decided to binge watch his videos too and hey look at this, I finally solved the jail comments as well

You have enough space to build a mob grinder. Also if doing again should consider moving your storage to the space of the original perimeter in case you die so it's not outside your reach
this was such a fun idea, really entertaining to see you come up with ways to level up and survive!
Tip: Logs are as effective as planks as fuel, both lasting 1.5 items, so you can use planks instead of logs in a furnace to cut down on wood demand. Otherwise, great video! Very easy to watch.
or, smelt the log for charcoal. 8 items.
you could probably beat it if the border was set to your level². then only at level 30 itd be 900 blocks out. id watch a lets play of that
I really like this concept but it's really hard en the eyes to watch. Maybe you can find a way to move the border half a block out or maybe a texture pack to make it invisible/almost invisible. ❤
Nice video and all, I just don't understand why you kept on ignoring the copper, like I know it's not very useful, but it gives you xp.
You can use planks instead of logs to cook things in the furnace, giving you 4 times the amount of cooking power. 4 planks will cook 6 items opposed to 1 log cooking 1.5 items.
I really enjoyed this!! I’d love to see more!
I’ll try and think of some of my best tips/life hacks with the game in this scenario…
You can get infinite lava, but you need a cauldron and a pointed drip stone.
Finally a calm Minecraft youtuber
Great idea for a video. Wadze did a similar one with border growing over time but yours is a better concept. I’m subscribed!
I absolutely love this inventive new spin on minecraft, it really is like a whole new game!
You don't need water to grow crops. Water increases growth speed, but tilled dirt will persist if planted on.
binge watching seans videos and coming across multiple comments about rob being in jail caused the most massive confusion in me. and seeing how i really like robert's voice, I decided to binge watch his videos too and hey look at this, I finally solved the jail comments as well
more of this please
You can actually use ender pearls to glitch outside of the border, but it's at the cost of one of the necessary items needed to beat the game, and you still can't go too far because you'll start taking void damage.
Just a tip, but if you find any copper or iron, don’t hesitate to smelt it. It gives XP
If you continue this series plz put all your important things in the middle within reach of the world border shrinks back down
this video = perfect background noise for school work
i love this concept so much but omg the chunk border is so nauseating 😂 gives me motion sickness watching
I'd love a datapack that does this, seems like a neat challenge
this feels like watching someone playing skyblock. Same concept of surviving from small thing to something bigger.
I remember when bastighg did this like a 1.5 years ago
What mod did you use to make mc look that nice and realistic? Also i want more this stuff is cool and calming
