I did all my free stuff on day one and now on day two I'm finding very little to do. I'm just not that motivated to actually play matches. Anyone else in this boat?
Same, I don't really mind that though. I've got other games to play, so it's fine by me if Pokemon Pocket is a game I play for 5 minutes a day or less to just to open up a pack and that's it.
I play other games so I don't mind. But I do practice my decks in PvP like 3 to 4 matches. There are no events right now so it feels little empty ◉‿◉
That's what I was afraid of after day one. Matches are completely uninteresting until you have a complete deck. I played on Beginner level and encountered full high meta decks right away. Card acquisition is so slow that many people will lose their interest within a month.
I reset my first account (f2p) as I was just opening whichever pack at random and in the new account I only opened charizard pack only and so far have got a good water and fire type (charizard ex, starmie ex,Montres ex)
The 8-10 Pokemon-per-deck tip is a major one for me: I'm over here trying to piece together a Gengar EX disruption deck with Hypno and Wigglytuff EX and Gardevoir. Super-duper-omega-overkill! lol
4:40 about the non pokemon cards, i would say professor reasearch, pokeball and x-speed are obligatory in all decks, sabrina is obligatory in 95 percent of the decks (decks with pidgeot and/or dragonite dont need her that much, at best an one of), and the rest are filler. Potion and Giovanni are two sides if the same coin (one can enable kos while the other disables) red card is great for stally decks, and the specific trainers are just that. Specific. I feel that is unfair that misty and erica are color specific while koga, blaine, surge and brock are pokemon specific. This makes Pokémon like Marowak or arcanine not having a specific trainer while articuno and venusaur have, and i find it unfair. If pokedex also gave a way to change the order of the cards it would be alot better
I feel a lot of creators are under rating some cards. Specifically ex wigglituff. I added it early because it was an ex I had and it can win hard against late game meta decks. I think status effects are currently under covered as they can litterly win games.
I genuinely like having 5 basics yes the extra mon can mess with pokeball consistency however when I only have 4 basics I've had too many games where my bench is empty and I lose after my front mon is ko'd. It's especially important in a Dragonite deck since Dragonite requires 4 energy and you can't ramp it unlike fire, psychic, grass, water, Surge, and Brock decks
Thanks Regis, I am F2P and I built Marowak Ex, venusaur ex (no executor). Recently, I got 2 moltres ex and 1 articuno ex. I think I would go charizard deck and starmie/articuno deck
I fear that as the game currently is it will get boring quick. Basically most decks have really only 2 pokemon (meaning to evolution lines) and games playout very much the same, being a very basic game overall.
So far my one win condition card I've had enough other support for is Marowak EX, and it's just like Zapdos EX but worse, and the RNG kills me lmao Fun times though
I really wish I could open the app… I had it queued to download for a month and have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times and it just crashes immediately
Good question - they don't NEED to be in sets of 2, but the general idea is that if your deck is built around some specific Pokémon (for example, Starmie ex and Articuno ex) and cards to support those Pokémon (for this example, cards like Misty, Pokéball, Sabrina), you want to be able to draw those Pokémon and those supporting cards as often as possible. Since the maximum number of copies you can have is 2, that usually means running 2 copies of everything if your deck is perfect. But again, that's only if your deck is perfect! If you're building from your collection and don't have 2 copies of some cards, that's fine! I did just fine for a while with a grass deck with 2 Exeggcute, but only 1 Exeggcutor ex, because that's all I had. I still ran 2 Exeggcute so that if I drew Exeggcutor I was more likely to draw an Exeggcute to use it, but it's completely fine to make a deck of single copies. I would just advise that especially if you're relying on Stage 1 or Stage 2 Pokémon as your win conditions, you should at least include 2 copies of every pre-evolution to ensure the evolved forms don't sit dead in your hand, and if you don't have enough duplicate cards to make an effective deck in one energy type, maybe consider building a different energy type instead. Good luck!
@TheShadowflare789 Thank you, it's a good explanation. Hearthstone and Marvel Snap are the only card games I've played before, playing a few matches of Pokemon and seeing how the card draw was working helped me understand this concept better, and I get it now.
Decks -> Edit -> Auto-Build -> Type -> Done. Jokes aside, I'm currently running an Articuno EX, Starmie EX deck because Charizard EX just refuses to appear in my packs 😭
Wierd game...more about collecting then actually playing. The gameplay is super casual, autoplay is a thing and it can get boring quick. I feel like It's only worth logging on to open stuff and claim missions and things like that.

Same bro … same

i totally feel you

YES REGIS!
Other youtubers make EX decks, strongest decks, meanwhile most of us are F2P, with our 1 sandshrew + 2 sandslash.
Thank you!
Yes, yes, OTHER RUclipsrs, definitely not me too!
Finish all the missions and use the resources for packs. You'll get at least some EXs. F2P here.

This is exactly what I needed, thanks Regis!

Thank you for this guide. I was able to streamline my Pidgeot deck which, somehow, just beat a Pikachu EX deck.
great video, thanks a bunch
I sure the drop an ex first turn option will keep going. Making them RQ is exhilarating.

idk if you did this yet i havent check but can you do a gengar deck video?
Support :)

If you can stall, Centiscorch is a HOUSE
No it’s not it’s a Pokémon 😂

Nice, an f2p deck building tips!
I managed to beat all the Solo Battles with my 2 Grass Type decks. I feel like they let me won.
Marowak EX is whack! I love it.
I really wish I could open the app… I had it queued to download for a month and have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times and it just crashes immediately
I have 3 eggsecuter ex - none of the big tank heal guy
What should I build for grass?

And I can't get starmie ex.... and have pulled 6 total Charizard ex cards, 3 - 3 star, 2 - 2 star, and 1 normal
