"The name Zeybek is originally a historical Turkish title. In the 19th century, however, the name was mostly used for gangs that operated similarly to the brigands in other areas of the Ottoman Empire. Contemporary European observers described them as a kind of 'rural militia'. Initially, the armed security forces of the Seljuk state in Western Anatolia were referred to as Zeybek. A Zeybek had to take an oath that he would always keep his word and be a good shot, healthy, fast, brave and brave. Later, the rebels who moved into the mountains after the Celali-Rebellions were called Zeybek. They formed gangs whose leaders were called 'Efe'. The Celali-Rebellions were a series of rebellions in Anatolia of irregular troops led by bandit chiefs and provincial officials known as celalî, celâli, or jelālī against the authority of the Ottoman Empire in the late 16th and early to mid-17th centuries. The first revolt termed as such occurred in 1519, during Sultan Selim I's reign, near Tokat under the leadership of Celâl, an Turkmen-Alevi preacher. @ no one said it is not? No one claimed here its history not going back in Ancient Greece? The problem right under my comment to being this out. What is your point? More importantly what is your problem?
@geosam011 yet again, your point is way too irrelevant. While the Turkish and Greek peoples coexisted during the Ottoman Empire and shared some cultural elements, their core identities and religious beliefs remained different. Therefore, calling Turks “Muslim Greeks” would be both historically and ethnographically incorrect and overly simplistic. It is essential to respect the rich histories and distinct identities of both groups. And especially not jumping right after someone else’s unrelated comment just to satisfy your own thoughts.
@geosam011 you are quite biased and not even close to articulate your point. The crescent and star were widely recognized symbols in the ancient world. Not only in ancient times. Although they are often associated with Islam today, the crescent moon has roots in earlier cultures, such as those in Mesopotamia and Byzantium (modern-day Istanbul). The star was later added and is believed to symbolize the guiding light and hope. In Ottoman usage, the red background came to represent the blood of martyrs and strength. So imagine while some symbols like crescent moon is way common and used to be had in many other cultures yet you are claiming that we got it from you? Did I say you are biased and narrow minded?
@geosam011 about zeybek, The zeybek dance has its origins in the Aegean region of Turkey and is associated with the zeybeks, who were warriors or protectors in the Ottoman period. These figures, known for their bravery and independence, often lived in the mountainous regions and developed a unique style of dance that symbolized strength, heroism, and a connection to nature. In Greece, the zeibekiko is also deeply rooted in the culture of the Aegean and Anatolian Greeks. It was influenced by the shared Ottoman and local heritage and reflects similar themes of heroism and individual expression. So, the cultural exchange between Turks and Greeks has been significant, especially in regions where both communities coexisted for centuries. This shared cultural heritage is evident in many aspects of their traditional music, dance, and social customs. Although zeybek and zeibekiko have evolved independently, their similarities are a testament to the intertwined histories of the two cultures. My suggestion- DO NOT GOOGLE READ GOD DAMN HISTORY BOOKS. We have cone to the end of the time that I allocated for you. Hope you get the points

These dances originate from ancient Anatolian Greeks.
Alexander's soldiers were dancing this dance to commemorate the fallen soldiers.
Their turkish ancestors the seljuk mongols were uncivilized barbaric ruthless Islamic savages practicing cannibalism.
Today's turks are simply copying everything which is from hellemic Byzantine origin including their cuisine.
Красивый танец 😮😊

That surface is hard to dance on. I'd like to see them repeat the dance on a more accommodating (safer) surface.
It’s probably really strong glass and has multiple layers it’s fine
Awesome

What’s the name of the music? It’s infectiously beautiful to listen to!
Tavas zeybeği
