Fun fact: I’ve been using Samsung’s Galaxy Note smartphones, on and off, for the better part of eight years. So a few weeks ago when the new Galaxy Note 10 first appeared on the horizon, I moved back into last year’s Galaxy Note 9 and started a running list of everything I wanted changed, the things I wanted kept, and at least one old feature I wanted back. Join me for a first look at the new Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ ahead of this year's Note 10 Unpacked event, and let's see how many wishes Samsung's magic wand will grant me!

You honestly can't tell the difference at that size, s10 phones come with the resolution lowered out of the box, and most users probably never change that.
@@Sponch1 it's not a question of whether you can tell the difference or not. At almost a 1000$, there shouldn't be such compromises. Especially with the likes of OnePlus offering displays with higher refresh rates even at much lower prices. Such arguments only encourages manufacturers to keep overcharging.

I think i prefer the Note 10. The smaller body means it is easier to handle and 8 gb of Ram is more than enough. Sure i'll miss out on the larger battery and Quad HD Super Amoled Screen but have just HD+ means less strain on the battery and 1080p is still damn good by today's standards. No headphone jack is a damn tragedy but many people moving towards bluetooth headphones so over time many won't care as much.

User-replaceable battery, non-slippery back, flat sides (even the Edge still had one flat side, and a curve that was actually big enough to be useful). They used some very nice plastics. It was a pretty big step up from the Note 3, which definitely did feel like cheap plastic.

Yes, please cover the Note 10. The Note 10+ gets the bulk of the reviews, while the 10 gets glossed over. There IS a crowd for the Note 10, so it would be fair to make an unbiased review for that crowd.

@@wowwow-zm3jy no there is one point to keep in mind. the XR is in every way better than the 8 (which it replaces) except for 3d touch. so you get upgraded inzernals, camera with new features, go from the old display to a stretched one, you get face Id and all that for 50$ more. now this here is a downgrade in areas mentioned in the video and they ask 50$ less than the previous model. (that's atleast how I see it but I have never seen anyone complain about this (the 10e does exactly the same as this but everybody loved that phone, but well atleast wasn't 950 but 750 or so)

Good points …. especially the lowly 1080p screen. but does anyone really need MicroSD expansion when you have 256gb? I still have 25gb free on my S9+, but I'm 48 and I'm not taking as many photos and videos as younger users.

Funny enough that "zoom in audio" feature was actually introduced two years ago on the $800 HTC U11 -- they called it "3D Audio." Even in undoubtedly their darkest era, they still thought ahead.
It was actually LG that first came up with the "Audio zoom" in 2013 for the G2.
Samsung never innovated, they simply copy and paste everything they could.

If you're talking about the standard note 10, yes. But, the note 10+ has a higher res screen, bigger battery, micro SD compatible, and more ram. The only thing it lacks in is the headphone jack. Since I've been using blue tooth headphones for years now, that doesn't bother me too much. I can definitely see why people are upset with the standard note 10 though, and that is the more consumer friendly option as well. Thy really goofed on that model, but I think the 10+ is worth the extra $100. That's just my opinion though.

For me, that's the Note 5. No curved class is crucial for Note use. I love all the Notes, don't get me wrong, but I really miss that Note 5 flat surface.

Yep, hole punch, notch or anything else in my screen viewing area is an absolute NO for me. The bezels on the Note 9 are perfectly acceptable to me because they don't cut into my videos at all. I personally don't care to have a front facing camera at all. Not everyone is so vain that they need to constantly be taking pictures of themselves.

But what I do always have laying around are wired headphones and now I dont have to worry about non of that 😃

Definitely not worth it. Super overpriced and not really a big upgrade. If you really got interested, wait for Thanksgiving or Christmas and the price should drop significantly.

They got rid of it because it's actually illegal to manipulate media devices in busineses without the owners concent. Stupid as hell but very true and Samsung has had many complaints about this so they just removed it entirely. Now they make you do the remote control set up through their app.
I don't get it why they include a wired USB c headphone instead of the Galaxy buds. (They just became another 🐑)

lightgorm - Upgrading every year isn’t bad at all if you trade in your device. I have an XS Max and Best Buy will give me $600 for it, making the 10+ $499(before tax). That’s not bad at all if tech is your hobby.
Note 10 is a downgrade from the Note 9.
The plus is the one that is meant to be vompsred to the note 9.
The standard is more for People Who want to spend less but still have the new est and a flagship.

This year's Galaxy Note just looks underwhelming to me I guess I will be keeping my S10 plus for a couple of more months.
No microSD on the (smaller) Note 10 and 1080p display kills it for me. I'd rather just get the S10 or Note 9.
You say it like 1080p vs 1440p is a big difference and like u don't get 256GB base storage and cloud storage doesnt exist

@@propersod2390 It's more about the Galaxy Note series having a pedigree for being the device lineup with no compromises. The Note 10 breaks that rule by downgrading the display and removing expandable storage.
@@GabrielIgnacio the note10 is more like the budget note 10+ (you can even call it note10e). The note 10+ is their real note 10 this year, I dont get the point of the smaller one with a screen smaller than the s10+

Note 4 was the last perfect Note imo. Maybe the Note Edge. Removable battery was badass.

Amoled has something called subpixel which make the 1080p to 880p. Unlike the LCD which is true 1080p

Yup, the iPhone Xs is a better deal at this point, minus the S-Pen.
Realistically speaking though, the S10 series and the Note9 are better deals than the Note10.
I'll miss the S-Pen, but having a headphone jack is important to me because I use it 3 times a week (the medical place I go to has TV remotes with a headphone jack, and I can't use anything else for private listening).
Why not use the connector or get compatible headphones? A pair of headphones never last me more than a year. 2 years for the $ beats I bought.

@@doctorthee I'll probably get a Note 9 phone when it's on sale, but I just got a Pixel 3a phone, so I'll probably have the Note 9 phone in cryostasis until I need it.
