Very interesting! Love what you’ve done! My Grand Parents live where the supermarket is today, back of Strand Street, I think it’s now a Shoprite store. I believe it was not a good area of Douglas at the time. They were hard working class people and I’m sure life was a struggle, my Grandmother worked full time until she was 75 years old, and refused to collect her pension!
Thank you, re your grandparents, I think you may be talking about Chester Street area possibly. If so, the supermarket has closed (last used as a Covid vaccination hub). If you go to the online iMuseum.im and search for Chester street there are some images of the area prior to its demolition and replacement with a multi storey carpark and supermarket
For maps there are 2 sources you can try. There is a reprint in the Godfrey Edition of the Douglas 1866 OS map ISBN 0 85054 641 9. the other one is the Manx Notebook website. They sell a CD of the website for a very reasonable price that includes, amongst masses of stuff, very good scans of the 1866 1/500 plans that are also available at the Manx Museum. As to the models, there are over 100 buildings that I have made myself over the last 2 years taking from 2 to 5 days per model so, in the words of Gollum, they are "my precious" and not available :)
Absolutely brilliant, now I have to find part 1. Thanks for all the hard work you must have put in to create this.
You're very welcome. Here's the first one ruclips.net/video/SlLWZWOHb3A/видео.html

Fantastic Stuart...if only my father in law was still alive to see this. He was born in Smagg's House in 1919.
Fantastic! Absolutely loved this !
I love this! Love seeing my family name Clague there! But what is with the long tailed cat? Why not a Manx cat?
It's a standard prop, the library of animals doesn't run to it sorry
How big a tourist attraction would this be if it were rebuilt. Better than Beamish.
