Spot on. Especially the thing about surrounding yourself with right people. I feel like I would've never accomplished anything in my life, if I continued wasting my time on people that basically dragged me down to not being interested in anything in life, other than drinking, excessive partying, and shit like that. I feel like the key thing in accomplishing something, whatever that might be, is not only hard work, but surrounding yourself with right things and right people. Those people will pick you up whenever you start falling. Thanks for the video Ross

Ross - we all have a purpose and I encourage you to keep making me videos like this that reveal the psychological aspect of not only life but life within the mind of a athlete with potential! Living in the moment and anticipating the ups and downs of fortune is a gift few can obtain alone, thanks for your mentor ship!

Golden advice, thank you. I'm 25 and I already feel like I could've been more dedicated and do so much more, not just as an athlete but as an artist as well. Unfortunately I could relate to a lot of the things you mentioned: wrong friends, wrong choices outside the gym, etc... I just hope it's not too late to make up for at least some of it now.

Great video Ross very sound wise advice for athletes of all ages (especially the young ones's). ....
I teach young athletes (rugby players)that you need to be professional in every way eg: training, socially, injury management, etc even though they aren't getting paid !!! It's a strange concept for some youngsters to grasp somehow they think getting the $$$ and the fancy gear/equipment-will make the difference -in reality and irrespective of age you don't have to be a "paid"professional athlete to be a professional athlete. Keep up the great work

First, develop and maintain excellent morals, such as humility, courage, temperance, unconditional love, integrity, justice, and spirituality, until death. Second, develop and maintain excellent values/virtues/characteristics, such a enthusiasm, unselfishness, dependability, endurance (mental), loyalty, bearing, thrift, and tact, until death. Third, until one is dead, never lower compromise or minimize one's morals and values/virtues/characteristics.
I have suffered in too many ways, when I have compromised my morals and values/virtues/characteristics, spiritually, mentally, physically, financially, and in my relationship.
Roberto Duran; Mike Tyson; Evander Holyfield; Muhammad Ali, and so many other athletes suffered, due to compromising or minimizing excellent morals and excellent values/virtues/characteristics.

Did you take any strength training classes? Or is your knowledge pretty much from experience?

+nico atillo 6+ in college/grad school didn't teach me as much as what I've learned through real experience. The formal education was still a good experience however.

Ross, sorry but I don't understand what you mean by taking it home with you?

+CyrusGates Did you listen to the video? My point is that you need to stay dedicated when you are outside of the gym (rather than messing around, getting into trouble, etc.).
