Any comments on Lars' drumming, after studying it for this? I remember listening back those early thrashy albums and his kick patterns being all over the place. Did you find that? I love that 'letting off steam' style... it always felt like he was trying hard to keep up with James' mind melting fast guitar riffs. He said somewhere that he simplified his playing, after ACDC's Phil Rudd, in the lead up to the black album. Love the cymbal hits on the off beat!
