The general problem with Video Systems which have only 1 Camera and 1 Monitor is - There's no real way to tell which piece of the system has the problem, the camera may not be sending a signal or the monitor may not be receiving a signal that is sent. If you have multiple Cameras and multiple Monitors then troubleshooting is easier. Overall, this level of equipment is basically designed to be disposal - if something breaks, you just toss it out and buy a new unit. With a price of around $160 for a Camera and Monitor set, it would be impossible to justify the expense of paying some one to try and repair it. It also seems that a lot of their equipment works over WIFI, which adds to the overall complexity of troubleshooting. - Chris
I have a different problem not mentioned here. I live in a 3 story condo with a front door and 2nd and 3rd floor stations. Every time we hold the button to talk wether inside or to the outside after we release the button there is a 20-30 seconds static sounds and you can’t talk back until that static sounds stop. It didn’t use to do that before. I’d like to know your input if you have come across something like this and the fix if any. Thanks and great informative video.
HI D R: Try the following - Disconnect the IS68 Entry Door Station and see if the static sound goes away (probably won't) It may just be time for a rebuild of the main inside station - Chris
I am looking for information on NuTone patio speaker. I have one that does not work. I have switched and tried it in the house at an inside station with a working speaker. The patio speaker did not work. I did not try the inside speaker on the patio. What can be wrong with the patio speaker?
Hi Michael: It is very likely that your Patio Station has a failed Speaker Cone - To test this theory - try temporarily connecting a working inside station to the patio Location. i came across one in my attic still in its shrink wrapping. however it has 8 wires out the back making it even more confusing
