This guide is a 'must have' accessory, imho! I bought mine back when I purchased a CP1000, and still using it on a CP2000, it makes hemming so much faster, easier and with a much neater reverse side (as long as you position your garment/etc with the left needle just at/on the cut edge of the fabric...as you mentioned. Initially it just takes a few minutes to practice, but after that it is so much easier and I highly recommend this guide.
