  • Installing EIBACH lowering springs on my car
    Hello guys, in this video I'm installing Eibach lowering springs on my Mercedes w205, 220 D, its a 2020 model with 194 BHP
    Eibach says its is 3,5 CM front and rear.
    I got a bit less.
    Lets see if we get there when the springs have some km/miles on them.
    After 4 months an 12000 km the springs is set on 3 cm lovering.
    Eibach spring set part number: E10-25-036-01-22 on Auto doc
    Wheel info: GMP Stellar 8,5x19/ET45 on all 4, with 245/35-19

Dead shock absorber or just the spring needing to settle in? Thanks!

    Hi VmaxViking, very nice video, i'm planning of doing my C class next week. But i'm having 2 questions about it: 1/for the front spring when you loosen the upper bolt after compressing the spring, shouldn't you counterhold the shock with a hex, to prevent the strut from jumping out? 2/ in many video's you see people loosening the upper steering knuckle witch sits right above the tire, is it doable without loosing this crown-bolt? Thanks ! Keep up the nice work ! Peter

    • @vmaxviking
      @vmaxviking  2 года назад +1

      Hi Peter. Thanks for your questions. No1: Use a impact driver for this job, it will be a lot easier for you, just hold the springleg tight when you start the impact driver, if you dont have one, then yes you need to counter hold the hex nut. Remember to compres the spring enough, but dont be worried, the spring or the top bering will not fly away if you have the compressing tool on it. No2: To remove the spring just remove the bolts i remove in the video, the 3 in the top, and the 2 on the bottom of the leg, there are no need to do nothing els. When you remove these 2 bottom bolts, then you can push down on the lower control arm and the leg will fall out in your hands, its very easy, trust me on this, i have seen the videos were some takes of the top control arm, NO NEED for that. I missd the shot in my video were i filmed this part. sorry. Hope this helps you. Let me know how it goes.

      @@vmaxviking Hi VmaxViking, yesterday was the big 'lowering' day... Didn't go as planned... First i did the front because that was the hardest part, i thought. For starters i couldn't get the strut out of it's place. So i had to loosen the upper steeringarm aswell, then it still wouldn't come off. After a good thought i also lifted the other side of the car to loosen the tension of the torsion bar, eureka, that worked. Got the springs off and new Eibachs on like you showed in the video, reinstalled and the car lowered bij 3cm! Happy me! Then i started on the back.That didn't work: First i loosened the nut, but then i could not get the tension of the bolt to get it out, i used a jack like you did, but nothing worked, the bolt was jammed stuck. Maybe with a hammer i could slammed it out, but then u would ruin the thread + i was afraid i would never get it back in! But then i also saw that my exhaust is in the way to get the whole bolt out, so ik would have to take that of too. So i stopped, put the nut back on and now i'm driving a Fast Tracker :) low in front, high in the back. I'm afraid i have to let this one for my mechanic... Anyway this proves that not all w205 are the same. Mine is a c200 Bluetec. Thanks for the help, i enjoyed watching your video. Peter

    Årrrhhh hvor ser den bare godt ud når den er sænket og med de fede fælge - Har en bil fuldstændig magen til din :-) og vil også gerne sænke den - var det et specielt sæt EIBACH du har valgt, i forhold til at det er en AMG-edition du har ? -

    • @vmaxviking
      @vmaxviking  2 года назад +1

      Hej Per, tak for de flotte ord, ja den ser godt ud min lille taxa. Nej det er et helt normalt sæt jeg fik til den, her er linket: www.autodoc.dk/eibach/7625435?search=EIBACH%20Chassiss%C3%A6t,%20fjedre%20(E10-25-036-01-22) Det der er i det er at hvis du måler en standard mod min med AMG undervogn vil du skænke den med standard undervogn mere fordi den er højere end min med AMG undervogn, men bare rolig, den kommer ned i en højde hvor den ser konge ud.... Bare husk på at den bliver lav og kan godt skrabe på mit af bunden nogen steder, som sådan er det ikke et problem. Jeg opdaget det på vores tur til Hamborg hvor jeg lavet en video med den, vi skulle ud fra et parkeringshus og der var der skrabet den bunden på midten, var under den da vi kom hjem og der var ikke sket noget. Bare så du ved det. God dag.

    Isn't it bad, putting shorter springs? Will the suspension now support more weight by having shorter springs?

    • @vmaxviking

      There are no problem with this, just remember that you have a lower ride clerence and if you load up the car you are closer to the ground.
