The most interesting thing about the Ciaphas Cain art is he always shown with a bolt pistol, he in fact used a laspistol as his side, the bolt pistol he often depicted with was taken from a genestealer hybrid who was the governor of Gravalax the first world he campaigned on with the Valhallan's. He used that bolt pistol for propaganda posters as it seen as a more martial and inspiring weapon.
@@skeeeeeep...The governor was part of the cult he was a hybrid, Ciaphas described him as some how managing to look obese and malnourished at the same time with thin watery eyes, balding and pallid skin.

Slight correction, Cain did not live to be 200. He says several times that he reached his "second century", but that means reaching over 100 years old, not 200. Your first century is ages 0-99, second century is ages 100-199.
An illustrious career to be sure. Ever in the right place and seemingly touched by a sort of mystical knowing, Cain seems to sniff out trouble wherever he may be.
"my palms began to itch" right before any hint of danger and he always seems to have an innate sense of Jurgen even in scenarios where you wouldn't notice his stench so readily. Has me thinking he is a low level psyker not to mention Cain can discern any sound like a damn owl in the night supposedly 😂because of his hive upbringing.
Cain is the textbook definition of imposter syndrome - he clearly IS the hero everyone sees him as he just can't grasp that. I for one am also certain that he's not dead, it was a ruse by Amberly to grant him a few last years in peace.
Would definitely be a fun show but I'm not sure the Cain books have enough grimdark to be the show we get. Gaunts ghosts or inquisitor series is my bet because Dan Abnett is involved in production now.
@@webelosevilos Gaunts ghosts it's freaking awesome series. But The humor in Cain's will definitely help it to be more relatable to normies plus it's hilarious. And they also get to see the pure horrible crap that he gets put into and the true terror that is 40k.
The Cain books are a great intro to 40K, so as a first live action show it could work. The main question is would the series follow publication order or in universe chronological order.
Always loved that look on his face on the omnibus book art shown at the beginning of the video, it a look of both annoyance and amusement, as well as seriousness and roguishness, it sum up the contradictions and duality of the character. I view Cain as something akin to a Soviet apparatchik, he believes in the system itself but is far from blind to its flaws, he out for himself and works the system to his advantage but takes his duties seriously when called and uses his power and influence to help those he cares and trusts. Cain personality is typical of what you see in a totalitarian society, people have a public self and a private self, and the hard tell the difference between the two due to always keeping up the act tends to blur the boundaries between the two. Cain also has a survivalist mentality, he determine to play the cards that life has dealt him and cant get out of his role due to being born into it and has no ware else to go.

Can we all appreciate that the Cain series is secretly super fucking tragic. Amberly talks about it early in the series, for like the first couple of books, that Cain is missing and nobody really knows if he's dead or what*, but then it goes quiet about that fact for all the books. Then, after you've been through like 9 or 10 crazy adventures with the crew, she brings it up again at the start of the last book (currently book 11) and you realize she's editing and releasing the story of the guy whom she had the closest thing to a real relationship that an active inquisitor can properly have. Many of which are likely some of her best memories with him. * I'm aware there is standing lore that Cain had a proper funeral and all. If memory serves, she is unaware or unwilling to tell us what his current status is at this stage of his story.
I have a theory that Cain is the only successful example of the Sephriel strain of abhumans. A project of the Mechanicus to mix the genes of the greatest heroes of the Imperium but it failed because they had Lamenters class bad luck, I think Cain just got all the good luck both the Sephriels and Lamenters were supposed to get. It would also explain his rather foggy recollections of his childhood as it's just a psycho-indoctrinated mock-up the admech threw together.
I have to admit the imperium is far from my favourite faction in the 40k setting and the commissar being my most disliked rank but saying that there's are only 2 commissar's in my opinion worth mentioning kane being one and the other Yarak.

The Valhallans become legendary where they were once obscure.
This proves that the Commisars can be, if they choose to, more than executors.
