Fun watch homie. Thanks for sharing your journey. I appreciate your authenticity and analysis.... I took with bishop too... I just figured the knight was better defender around the king but it wasn't forcing enough and it all made complete sense after ur further analysis as far as keeping the rook out and keeping the better piece.
Hi, Stjepan. I'm a 1900-2000 player myself and I really like your approach to chess and your thought process during your games, so I try to adjust my own thought process a little bit. I noticed two things in your videos I want you to tell you. At first I have the impression that you are sometimes too much afraid of losing, especially against stronger opponents. That seems to become obvious in this video. The second thing is: You are more often talking about defending than attacking, even with the white pieces. Maybe it could help your progress to think more about attacking. In summary I think you should get more courageos! Of course this is my subjective opinion, but maybe I'm right, who knows. Keep going your way, I'm really curious how strong you will get! Stay tuned for more chess ;-)
Well, the problem to Nf3 is that you memorized Ne2 - Ng3, hence didn't play the position itself, but something you had made during opening prep. Too much opening theory.
Ajedrez con Germán is his channel. He is harsh indeed, stating that after 4 years of being a professional chess player Stjepan basically didn't improve his rating at all. That he has knowledge but no skill.
@@David-hq8ir The assessment is just fact though isn't it. Stepjan has a successful channel and follows his passion. But he was 1910 in Dec 2019, and is 1979 now. That's 70 elo in 5 years. I'm sure Stepjan is aware of what this means in terms of skill. I hope he continues to put out content because I enjoy watching it, and as long as this channel is successful he has a good thing going. But Road to GM is just a name for his series, it's NEVER going to happen.
really enjoy the new intro sections to the videos. love the videos generally as well
As a Makagonov Player myself, this game was really instructive!

I just started my chess journey. Wish me luck!
Glad to join yours!
Amazing analysis!
Go get them! I'm rooting for you :) Greetings from Chile
that h3 variation is reason why I had problems finding something original against KID from my 1. Nf3 move
everyone was recommending the h3 you played.

How much has your rating changed since trying to reach IM status?
He is not even close to reaching IM title. Online rating is not the same as fide rating
Is 60+30 rapid chess or already part of classical chess ?
Classical
Stjepan, this guy (FM) dedicated a video about your progress, with some criticism, you may find it useful (v=JjJx6koDyAw). It's in Spanish, though.

The link doesn't work. Could you give the channel name?
