Being Nishio sensei's student is one of the most important thing that happened to me, it completely changed my perspective, mainly as a person. Thanks for the fond memories.
Dear Aikidoka; This is the real thing. Shihan has passed but his student, Stefan Stenudd in Sweden, is still teaching (and was Nishio's student). Not every dojo has this level of teaching.
Thank you for your comment. Indeed, it's impossible to really understand Aikido, or "find it convincing", by videos. It's better experience it in a good Dojo. 😉

賛否も多いが当て七割をしっかりと体現している合気道だと思ってる

Nishio was the best….people don’t realise Aikido is a very generic term!
西尾先生は素晴らしい技を持っていることに疑いはないのだけれど、どうにも好きになれないんだよなぁ。
弟子にゆっくり攻撃させて、自分は素早く動くってのがね。
そして多分だけど、この世代から合気会の技が変わりはじめた気がする。
上手く言えないけれど。
