I was expecting the mum to be more shocked about Oisín dating.. She took it pretty well!
I imagine, like me, she’s been practicing her “poker face” for this moment for years. No girl is, of course, good enough for her little boy. But you can’t let them see you think that.
Give it 2 more weeks
A lot better then I did truth be told
She's probably remembering when she used to go "dating" the boys down at the pub.
Yes
We ran out of time on the shoot, but here is the scene we wanted to do with Barry...
BARRY: Hey
ANNE: Barry, come on in, Oisinn's just had a bit of heartache
OISINN: I'm fine!
ANNE: Now I hope Barry, you aren’t having this trouble with women
BARRY: No, single
ANNE: Good man Barry
BARRY: Looking to mingle
*Winks at Anne
ANNE: Barry get OUT OF THIS HOUSE
Aww that would have been *chef's kiss*
That's brilliant 😂
Barry is a very sensible boy, he knows what to look for in a woman.
Oh oh oh do it for Patreon! Pretty pretty pleaseeee 🍒
Fan fiction that is canonic. WOW.
That third cousin line was so unexpected 😂
“We’re a small island nation...” 😅
I think it's a common Irish joke! A stereotype that everyone are related to each other by blood xdd
@@hairybjr nevertheless brought out a rueful grin on my face
That is one of the most Irish things 😊
At times it’s uncomfortably close to the mark
"there are plenty more trout in the Shannon" is a wonderfull saying xD
I'll try and make it stick
Honestly, to be able to easily talk to your mom about _feelings_ when you're a teenager, that's a miracle for me. Oisín's mom is even more incredible person than I ever thought.
She's not perfect, but she gives it a go
@@foilarmsandhog Does she know that though? Getting to know that she's not perfect might hurt her feelings a lot... after all she's doing everything and hasn't sat down all day. 😉
I was always able to confide in my Mam. My Dad on the other hand.
Exactly, my mom and I would have never had that conversation when I was younger. Too uncomfortable. 😂
Do you guys not have the ‘where do I come from?’ book in Ireland? It explains it all! I bought a copy for my friend’s daughter that was clueless and my friend was too awkward to straighten her out.
PLEASE don’t tell me she dumped him for Barry. I couldn’t handle it
oh my gawd noooooo
Can you imagine! 😲
That would be an interesting story/video to watch though.
THAT"S why Barry's lack of input is so conspicuous! I think you nailed it.
FA&H, we need follow-up on this next week!
I thought Barry has a crush on Anne 😂😂
That would be hilarious hahaha
"Barrys is with a 45 year old woman who looks like anne"
"Barrys girlfriend is 15 years older than him and buys him lots of penguins"
From this, we can only conclude one thing:
Barry is 30 years old.
hahah
Barry is a two timing scoundrel
I guess he must have been held back in school for a while then? Or the numbers clearly don't add up 😅
Actually it totally makes sense that Barry is a 30-year-old weirdo neighbour who never stopped wearing school uniform.
all just a wibbly wobbly timey wimey....
I love that the solution to any problem for an Irish mammy is to do more jobs around the house 😂😂
bizzybiizzzybizzyzyzyzy
I’m American but that’s my ma too.
“Well if you’re stomach hurts too much to scoop the cat’s litterbox, go ahead and do the dishes.”
“Headache? Take an ibuprofen and pick up your room.”
Or 7up
Sounds dangerously similar to an asian mum too 😂
That's the same for an Italian Mum 😂😂😂
Anne grinding out "You need to be careful" and Oisín's horrified realisation of what she was on about 😂😂🤣 Perfect!
"Careful"? Is that what she said? I replayed it three times and still did not catch that :(
@@olmostgudinaf8100 Yes that is what she said 😊 Glad I could help, even if it was unintentionally!
OMG! The "talk". NOOOOO!!
She was on about wearing protection....... a medical grade mask of course.....!
When my youngest was at his cringiest in high school and I KNEW that last thing he wanted was to talk to me about sex, I would casually tell him when he was getting ready to go out, “Oh, son, don’t forget:: never go out without a raincoat.” He at first ignored me, then he looked at me quizzically and said, “Mom, the weather’s completely clear.” I ahem-ed pointedly and told him I wasn’t talking about the weather. He turned 20 shades of red and bolted. Pretty much just like Oisin. Total parenting success.
honestly, going to the garden centre and getting to pick out a plant would be exactly the right thing to cheer me up.. but then again i'm really boring
It would work for me now too.. .
Aren’t garden centres closed under Level 5 restrictions anyway?
@@fmcm7715 there supposed to be but.....there not
I just bought a haworthia yesterday.
@@foilarmsandhog Bless you. Add in a nice slice of cake for me too!
You missed the “Well, I still love you” 😬
Thanks Dad, but not quite the same
ahaha yes! damn that would have been good
I've actually said Mammy hugs aren't the same, but do you want one anyway? All 3 of mine gave me the same, She Gets It I don't want a Mammy hug but ..yeah I need one. That was after the doesn't know a good one when they see one, plenty of fish etc. We know.
Oh god! Yes! I had this the first time I got dumped
It's all a matter of willing 😏
But when your parents pas away you remember all this stuff that only a good parent can say.... just saying.
This is too real! Mum's always know... 🤣
Wow
Hey .. it's you!!! Welcome!! Thanks for watching
@@foilarmsandhog thanks good job
Omg well done lads ☺️
@@foilarmsandhog Congrats, your growing!
“Plenty more trout in the Shannon”
I loved that. Is that a real Irish saying?
@@rachele3334 no 😂 should be though!
As an Australian with Irish heritage that I emphasize a lot, I may just have to use that one.
Moral of the video: is it something about relationships? No. "Never go on holidays. NEVER" 😆
Holiday is just a funny way to spell expensive regret. Staycation is [the government mandated option for 2020]
@@recklessroges I think you've missed a year there🤣
i love Oisin messing and picking with things it looks so natural, like a distressed teenager
You just want to hug him, poor boy. We've all been there.
On a side note when my uncle was called up for national service my gran said the famous "be careful" line. He started teasing her and ask how exactly? Gran became very coy all of a sudden and ultimately settled on "so you won't get run over by a tram". For decades after, when gran said to be careful (i.e. driving home after visiting her) she wld be teased with 'you mean so I won't get run over by a tram'? It wound her up no end.
Excellent!! thanks for sharing that
That’s hilarious!
Now imagine Anne as a doctor. In an operation theater
“OISIN. Did you wash your hands?”
“Oh quit whining it’s just a bullet”
“I haven’t sat down all day”
"look at the STATE of this large intestine, it's like you haven't cleaned in weeks"
Give me that video
Yesss plsssss write it!!
One, I love how Anne went full on supportive Mama Bear. That was lovely. Two, that ending may be the best way to take your child's mind off their heart ache, at least for a bit.
“It’s an exam year” - KILLED me, so spot on 😂😂
if i told my mum i got dumped she'd be like "now you go study and get the best grades to make him jealous" ಥ_ಥ
hmmm... sounds like a hidden agenda!
Dunno, man... Being good at math is pretty atractive, in my humble opinion... She might be onto something with that advice.
@@marcospatricio8283 I once told a boy that I think maths is SO COOL. He switched his career plan from Fashion to Engineering. Today he builds bridges.
Oh, I feel so bad for Oisín. Who in their right mind would dump him?!
Right, he's already got people lining up to comfort him!
right!? i'd date him in a heartbeat
@@linnea_likelinearwithoutther I agree : tactical move😂
Too right. Though having Barry walking in on your dates every day would probably be a sane reason.
@@rosebonior4691 Me too!
The “well that always cheers me up” is one of the sweetest moments between the characters. This series is just so good on so many levels!
Foil is such an amazing actor, every character he’s done is done with perfection and his range is immeasurable. They’re all great but he’s probably the best
The prince William bit killed me! Whats the word for a compliment that ends up being an absolute burn?
A backhanded compliment.
At least she didn't say "a young Prince Charles."
complisult? negging?
@@meisteremm: Or worse, "a young Prince Andrew".
A bass-ackward compliment.
Anne trying to awkwardly talk about sex to Oisin is the best! 😂
Now that is the sketch we want to see! 😂😂😂
This is pretty mild. My mam tried to comfort me by saying "ah now what are you crying about he never even loved you in the first place"
That's awful! Probably what she was told, then made to feel guilty for reacting!
@@DSmith-ix1xf I'm sorry
I’m sorry to hear that.
Guys its fine, I wrote this for yous to laugh not play me a violin 😂
One time I was essentially being ghosted my mum decided the most supportive thing to say was “Now don’t be too keen. What if you scare him off and he doesn’t feel the same. How awkward!” Cheers mammy 😂
These videos are so relatable. My mom is a huge punk rock fan and we're German. You'd think she and Anne couldn't be more different but 95% of the dialogue in these sketches feel like reenactments of conversations I've had with my mom. And yes, Arms, your hair is beautiful.
The SHADE on Bríde Moynihan hahaha but I do recall she gave dear Oisín some sweet moolah when they last visited her, so she can't be doing too terribly :)
I always forget that we have named characters already haha
@@foilarmsandhog haha no worries lads! Just playing with ya! I have a long memory for details see, you can hire me for continuity if you want 😜
This was hilarious!! I was half expecting Anne to turn it back on Oisin ("if you wore deodorant, pet, this wouldn't happen") but she was 100% maternal love. BEAUTIFUL.
"Twice divorced, a son that won't talk to her..." I thought the reply was going to be "Stop talking about Barry's mum like that!"
🤣 That would've been perfect!
The shade thrown at Arms for going on holidays and leaving the equipment in his house will never cease :D
Also, judging from her many plants in and around the house, Anne probably must've had many heartbreaks she needed cheering up from.
I'd love to hear some anecdotes from her love life some time 😊
I have a backstory written, but the WORLD is not READY FOR IT YET
@@foilarmsandhog omg now I'm intrigued 😃 that's fantastic! Can't wait to see it!
@@foilarmsandhog this is pure torture: we have to wait to see ...

The only way to get over from sadness is distraction ; so I'm watching Foil Arms & Hog marathon, I'm Busy Busy Busy Busy Busy Busy Busy Busy.

If this isn't me, a cynical forever old maid, trying to console my friends after their breakups then I don't know what is... This hits too close to home, guys.
She's actually quite a wonderful mother
Anne’s facial expressions do make me laugh!
This proper transported me back to when I was 17 and my parents tried to cheer me up after a break up, ended up just taking me to the pub!
This is why Mrs. Flanagan said that they're should be no girlfriend until after the exams, he should've waited until he was 32!
Actually, there's to be no girlfriends until he's 52 !
@@DPXerxes you're right, my apologies!
45!
I honestly can’t tell if Oishin is 13 or 18 or 20 something at this point and I don’t care.
I just have the feeling he’s in eternal Leaving Cert
I think he just has been stuck in his final year of secondary school for 5 years
@@alfredparris726 Could that be the reason for today's problems?
Or 35 😆
Exam year so either 15/16 or 17/18
I wish I could see the reactions of your actual mums when they see these Anne/Oisin videos. That would be hilariously interesting.
That sounds like a Christmas Bonus on Patreon.
MY FAVORITES! ...Should I be worried I basically own Anne's necklace? Also "She's my cousin." "Third cousin" killed me.
Anne is a fashion icon, so no
I just love Anne ,she is just so real .No matter what country you come from ,you can identify with Anne as a mum. I just love her saying "" there's plenty more trout
Where was Barry to cheer him up eh? Or at least to just eat em outta house and home whilst Oisin has his lil break up crisis🤣
I love Anne's offended face when Oisín snaps at her 😂😂 And the dreaded "you need to be careful" talk
"You should come down to the garden centre with me and I'll get you to pick out a plant for yourself" genuinely perked me up, and I've not even been dumped. I think Anne and I are of similar minds 😂
Yes it’d right cheer me up!

Every teen’s worst nightmare...’’the talk’’ and their mother tryin to get them to go plant shopping. Haha. This made my morning (stayed up till 3am again just to watch)
What if you saw the person in the street with their friends when you were on the way to the garden center with your mom? Mortifying.
Hahaha the look of terror on Mrs Flanagan's face after the exam year phrase when Oisín turns around to her 😂
This is such a wonderful sketch - and perfectly portrayed!
(Also that teacup is beautiful, Anne has fantastic taste)
"I'll take you to the garden centre and let you pick out a plant for yourself."😂😂😂😂
“A girlfriend? You never told me you had a girlfriend?!”
Which is iconic in its own right XD
Did y’all catch that?: all those girls will be knocking down HER door to get to Oisin! She envisions him living there still - for how long? 😳😁😫
She also said "In a few years time". Why does she think poor Oisin need to wait for years for that to happen?! 😂

The way Anne say crfl (careful) cracks me up. Brilliant sketch.
Christ, this is so relateable on so many levels. Both as a teenager and a parent. I'm still laughing.

"Oisin Robert Flannigan!" Watch out when the full name comes out! 😂 Got the cheerful background music with him depressed. Perfect.
Down at the Garden Centre surrounded by Roses, Daisys, Heathers,.Irisis, Lilys, Poppys, Violets, Hollys, Ivys, Jasmines, Rosemarys, Ericas etc. ... that'll totally take his mind off girls 😁
One pair of my great grand parents had a thing for floral names for their daughters, there was a Violet, an Olive and my grandmother was an Iris.
Aww when he said at the beginning that he'd been dumped I wanted to give him a hug!
I loved Anne trying to give him 'The Talk'. I can't really remember when my mum did this to me but I do remember a very awkward and quick conversation about body changes in the car park of a supermarket!
Thanks for making Thursdays one of the best days of the week!
Be careful now 🤣 Can’t wait to see Anne have ‘the talk’ with Oisin. Better to be safe than sorry. At least he wasn’t ghosted
You guys make such a nice mother-son duo. I loved the look on Ann's face when she realised that she didn't know he had a girlfriend.
